I like the fact that OP asked for removals and people gave AoE cards :P
As for me:
Vilespine Slayer - pretty much hardest removal currently in the game, as it bypasess "cannot be targeted".
Hex and Polymorph - arguably the best card card removal in the game, as those don't trigger deathrattle effects and don't count the minion as destroyed for other cards that would use it. Second spot only because it's a soft removal and leaves some value on board.
Shadow Words that Priest used - all of them target different minions, but still strong and extremally cheap for their effect.
Execute - one of the greatest removals, but needs a setup.
Siphon Soul - pretty cheap for it's effect (Assasinate is 5 mana) and a strong, single target removal.
I didn't include board wipes - they are still removals, but different in their usage. Also AoE's (although they might result in removal) are still bursts and not removals.

I'd say average. If Blizz made a card that gives a minon some kind of overkill effect, it would be massive (probably OP AF), but now... hard to say. I really hope it's gonna be JUST average, and not like recruit, where the whole community judged it to be bad and too slow, and then it came around and slammed everybody in their face...
I don't understand the hate in some of the posts in this thread - the biggest cancer atm were Druid Control/Combo decks and meta shifted towards it. Odd Rogue and Odd Pala only got revived because people started countering Druids...
Sooooo... I'll try to make something midrange to still keep up with aggro and beat Druid shit. I'm hoping for something like a nice Tempo Warrior (that rush package buffs look promising), maybe Tempo Pirate Rogue (but I think it's gonna be a flop), or Odd Mage. I'm also thinking about some combo shenaningans with Warlock and that minion that deals 2 dmg to the enemy hero when a friendly minion dies (eggs + cube + Defile)., or a Combo OTK Priest (that Auchenai Phantasm and Regenerate + Prophet Velen <3).
One question - why Hearthpwn is using placeholder names? I mean, I'm also following Hearthstone Topdecks and they have the name Mojomaster Zehi, or something like that. It happened a few times with RR reveals and Topdecks had the proper names before Hearthpwn :O
As for the card itself, I could see it being played in ramping Druids, to piss off other control/combo decks. Get 10 mana, then this, then Nourish and you still get ahead. Or just use it as a good aggro tool, the card seems really nice.
It's because players blamed aggro for everything bad in the meta, while being unable to play control decks. I was really bad in 2016 and thought that as well.
Now I'm decent, I guess, and for me that ultra slow meta we have now is far worse, as it comes down to what and when you're gonna draw. It really sucks and I'm barely having fun with HS, not even bothering to get to rank 5 (although I might push in the end, it's 400 dust).
Thing is, Team 5 really printed OP shit for aggro decks back in the day :D
It's great that we're losing all those cards. Blizz printed new cards making them severely OP. Current expansions aren't really lacking in power, it's just that Un'Goro, KFT and KaC are so strong it's crazy. You'll see how fun it's gonna become after rotation, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for sure!
Yeah, 50 bucks is a lot for that, as I've lost my interest in other Blizzard games (HotS is an attrocity and Overwatch feels dull AF). Especially if you consider RDR 2 is just a few dollars more, lol.
I'd go with Priest, tbh. Apart from like two broken decks (Razakus and Big, which was unrealiable at times, vey high-roll dependant) and some difficult combo decks, it's a so-so class.
Also, I'd say that Shaman would take the second spot, but I still remember the days of Midrange Shaman and Aggro Shaman, because Team 5 thought that Tunnel Trog, Totem Golem and pre-nerf Spirit Claws were balanced, not forgeting the most balanced card (after Dr 7) - 4 mana 7/7.
This kind of whining makes me think about stupid movie reviews, where a reviewer is shocked that a Transformers movie isn't as deep as Almodovar's films. Or metalheads complaining that a Chris Brown concert didn't sound like Iron Maiden. Neither Brown meant to throw a metal act, nor Michael Bay attempted to do anything else than an action flick. So why get angry?
If you don't dig something, because it wasn't tailored to suit your particular interests, then like, you know, maybe find something else?
So basically criticism is not allowed for anything? If you watch a film and it sucks, you cannot say anything, because it was your fault for chosing a film that was not meant for you? Ok...
The way you missed the missed the point made me reread my post (English is not my mother language), but it was ok. I'm not saying you can't criticize a film for being bad - don't criticize it because you chose a sitcom, but expected a thriller, lol. That was my point.
As for HS - if you want a game that's different than a CCG, then perhaps you should play something else. All CCGs are roughly the same and saying that their signature features is like saying Civilization is bad, because you wanted to play an RTS.
Whenever I see angry comments section, like the one we have here, I can't help but wonder - have you guys NEVER played physical card games, like MTG? Where you couldn't DE and craft cards.
I remember that, as a kid, I'd usually spent most of my pocket money on booster packs. I have no problem with buying packs in HS, because it's the same as it used to be.
