This is the most idiotic nerf that I have ever seen during my time in Hearthstone and I am playing it since 2016. The only problem with this game was and always will be that these idiot developers don't test the cards properly before releasing them for the play mode, after they realize that the thing is broken they start nerfing but this time they nerfed the two cards that no one asked and added mercenary bundles without even showing us proper gameplay. They just want to make as much money as possible from this game and they even don't care for their players. Wild is officially dead for me as a priest main and wild is more enjoyable than standard.

Jozefko posted a message on 21.2 Patch Notes - Balance Changes, Battlegrounds, Mercenaries Pre-OrdersPosted in: NewsYesterday reveal stream was so confusing. If not for anybody else for me surely. They introduced a ton of new things, new game mode or I could rather write "new game" in game. So many informations, so many news, yet I am so confused. I don't understand it, I can't test it, I can't play it BUT I can pre-order it. LOL. that's some monetization. You can buy so many things, which You don't know what they do BUT you can pre-order them...
Also that change of the interface is like.. Am I not playing hearthstone anymore ? Balance changes looks like guys from Blizz don't even bother to take a look at the game and play a few games before they do some decisions because these "nerfs" are even more uselles than the ones before. BUT you can pre-order something.. I could understand first some beta testing where you could try everything ( and for free ofc ), take a look at it, play it, check it out or anything and then you can release some options with pre-order if the game will be succesfull. Like this it really looks like strictly bussiness and that's not why I am playing hearthstone. Strictly bussiness I have IRL and when I start the game I expect to enjoy some games without having to buy something, no pressure, no fancy expesive new efects which nobody asked for..

CaHgO posted a message on Prepare for Mercenaries—Coming October 12!Posted in: NewsUhm, maybe I'm stupid, but the only things I was able to clearly understand from this "announcement" or "explanation" were Purchase, Pre-Purchase, Subscribe. The rest seems quite confusing and non-intuitive.
I'll give it a chance, but I would have preferred they focus on making the existing modes more fun, less RNG-based, and more polished overall. I'm not an expert and only Blizzard knows what's best for them, but there are really A LOT of modes now, which are played very rarely and player base/player engagement continues to shrink.
Instead of adding more and more modes, why not just make the existing ones playable? Cause right now it feels non of them is really fine-tuned. We have Arena and Tavern Brawl, which are totally forgotten. Single player content is getting worse and worse with every release. Duels is still in beta version. Wild is... wild. They just released Classic, which (judging by my humble limited community) no one ever plays. And there is Standard, which also feels rushed all the time.
I think they went too far with the number of new "mandatory" expansions and content, in order to try and monetize more, which ultimately led to a much lower quality overall, less player satisfaction, and I guess less players overall as well.
Maybe I'm wrong, but that's my feeling and experience in the last 2-3 years in Hearthstone (I have been playing since beta). -

Binori posted a message on 21.2 Patch Notes - Balance Changes, Battlegrounds, Mercenaries Pre-OrdersPosted in: Newsso Wild is officially dead for control players for the LONG time. Only Questfiesta (Warlock, Hunter, Warrior - repeat) and aggro is allowed for at least next 3 months. With 1 day they killed all Reno decks (mostly Reno Priest, LPG Mage, Control Warlock), all Old Gods decks, all Mill decks (ok, I only faced Rogue Mill but still), all BIG decks (Big Shaman, Big Priest, fat Druids versions).
Ok, they didnt kill these decks, you can still play them if you are fine with winratio 20%. So all Control players are masochists now. Ok I reached 7 times in the row legend this year, and August Legend with Tax Palladin (1st time Legend with Aggro this year) and then switched to Celestial Druid because this is the only viable Combo deck to beat Combo Quest decks. But it feels extremely boring to play coin flip games: if I ramp up and have Celestial then Me Win, if dont Me Not Win. Coinflip games. And when I try to play some control like Quest Priest or other then I'm being fucked by the Army of Quest Warlocks again and again.
These meta is totally disgusting. The worse ever meta which I played since 2014 October. They killed on purpose long term known archetypes with 1 bullshit Warlock card. Now they wanna to force Wild players to play Mercenaries? Fuck off Blizzard.

It's pretty despicable.

Thanatos2k posted a message on 21.2 Patch Notes - Balance Changes, Battlegrounds, Mercenaries Pre-OrdersPosted in: NewsI cannot believe the incompetence of the Hearthstone dev team. They have done absolutely nothing to fix the problem with their game - and that is the Warlock quest. You can make flesh giants cost 25 mana. Stealer of Souls doesn't matter because you banned it from Wild. The quest will cause problems over and over because becoming immune to fatigue damage and weaponizing it at the same time breaks the game at a fundamental level and deletes slow decks from the game. This isn't Jade Druid or Ignite Mage where you can halt fatigue.
Wild is also fundamentally broken because of the Warlock quest, these nerfs do nothing to stop this, and the game will never recover until this is remedied.
Wake the hell up Activision.

One more fun fact.
Each year EA and 2K is bashed for yearly sports games which cost 60-70$.
Imagine them updating rosters 3 times a year and asking full price. (Fortunately they only do that yearly.)
Or making card packs requiring you to open in order to play with the updated rosters. You have to spend more to play with Stephan Curry, Lebron James, Cristiano Ronaldo or Messi.

Let's make the source together. How much money did you spend for this expansion alone? Let's triple that for 3 expansions and add one third of that each mini expansions in between.
You will most likely will not provide the amount you spent. So lets make a sane estimation instead.
Lets assume a bundle for each expansion = 80 $. (Neglecting the fact even mega bundle alone is not enough to have all cards probably you would want, even with the gold you can save between expansion cycle.)
Lets assume 20 $ for each mini expansion a year. Adventures used to cost around 25$ as well.
So in total 300$.
Fun fact more than 1/3 of my monthly salary as a senior engineer where i live. And more than minimum wage.

The statement is worse than anything i could come up in my imagination. They really underestimate the average intelligence level of their consumers.
They are telling they will implement bonus events which were normally rewarding on their own and present them like they are rewarding community with extras we never would recieve otherwise. Like the free legendary incorporated into the battle pass. They will do the same for seasonal events.
I used to spend money for the game but i stopped a few expansions ago. Since it was not sustainable to have a good collection without spending a lot. Ofcourse my currency losing against dolar also didn’t help either. It was 1/2 at the start now it is 1/8 in conversion. If the game was more approachable i would still make purchases in game. The game requires like 300 dolar per year. And it is more than a month of minimum wage where i live. It is like 5 AAA titles worth of money normally. In addition regional prizing AAA titles in my country is about 30 dolars. I could get 10 “Cyberpunk 2077” like game instead of trying to be up to date in this game.
Anyway they definetely should reduce required amount of money to play this game. There are many good suggestions mentioned in hearthstone subreddit. Only thing that i would add to those suggestion is that regional prizing would also help with steady profit in regions with less valuable currencies. Steam and regional prizing killed piracy here. They could do the same. The developers of those games have a new market and steady income. Less is better than none. This also would increase total profit for Hearthstone and should reduce the stress of profit on whole playerbase.
