Tuhljin posted a message on Upcoming Hearthstone Arena Hotfixes for Thursday, April 19Posted in: NewsAs a programmer who has worked extensively with weighted randomization / probabilities, if they gave you the exact numbers, you probably would think they're way too low even if they were actually pretty high when taken in context, a context that only they can see and which it's unreasonable to ask them for since it's complex and massive. Sometimes, they may be able to give a relative idea like "about twice as often" but such phrasing isn't always feasible when tweaking the knobs.

For that combo to reliably work you need 4 specific cards in hand (this card, 2 devilsaurs, and Grommash), a whirlwind effect, and 0 other minions in your hand. That's a lot of conditions for 24 damage. It's definitely a strong card, but I don't think it's as toxic as you think it is.

I like how no one is talking about the obvious meme this card is. It's not meant to be a competitive card.

I don't think it really is a nerf in this case, because how often is Tess silenced or removed because of its own battlecry halfway through? And how often do you get more than 30 battlecries? Doesn't seem that happens all that often.
But it's definitely a change. People crafted the card thinking it would do X, and then Blizzard changed it to do Y instead. Even if Y is very similar to X and not necessarily worse, it's not what people spent their dust on.
Blizzard put us under the assumption that we get full dust refunds if cards change. But then they randomly don't do that for some cards. That's really shitty.

And who are you?

I think you're missing the point of wild mate.

Maybe this card is printed solely because Wickerflame Burnbristle rotates out, and they wanted a similar but still somewhat different card to take its place for control paladins. Blizzard has printed a ton of cards with similar effects to other cards that are rotating out. It doesn't necessarily need to be just as good, but I'm sure this card could fit in a few control decks, if control paladin ever becomes a thing again. Maybe even in quest paladin, because you'd need to buff your minions anyway.

Mhm, mhm, and it should have also had rush at 5 attack, and windfury at 7, obviously.

I don't really think it's a "waste" of a silence when you just used two cards on this and they just silence it with a spellbreaker. You just spent 7 mana and 2 cards for a 2/5, and the opponent spent 4 mana and 1 card for a 4/3.
