Interesting, but I'm calling false on this one. Call me naive, but Google is almost 16 times bigger than Blizzard Entertainment and aren't even close to raising the same level of public awareness. Also, if diversity would be an issue, it would normally start with low-level employees rather than at the top of the tree where the people work who are actually making hiring-or-firing decisions.

On top of that, out of everyone they could let go, letting the one go who started it up and is now the face of the community (Ben Brode)  just because he's white seems way, way far fetched.

Far more likely is that, working for the same company for 20+ years, in a creatively demanding environment, is the reason why you would move on. It baffles me that this kind of racism even seems viable in your obviously well educated mind.

It seems you're focussed on racial issues. Even though you might have the best intentions, this perpetuation is the reason why racial discussion even exists.

Very valid points and you are most likely correct. I guess this is how a discussion should be. Bringing solid evidence to the table with thought out comments and points. Too bad i cannot answer you cuz apparently i am trolling acording to some censorship-mod... So we'll leave it here.
The reason i brought this up at the first place is just due to the lawsuit and a lot of similar things that have happend in my country with all this metoo-whine.

Well guess what, i have no legal obligation to back up my statements with anything on this site, scroll down a couple of rows, do you see people providing evidence on every statement they make? Ofc it was a speculation, it could be wrong and it could be right, that's what fun about it, you can always discuss it, like we are doing now, too bad you wouldn't say something against it or so like the other dude did.

I'm talking about the lawsuit and the fact that google isn't hiring white and asain men anymore. Sorry i'm a lawyer so i just assumed that everyone was up to date on stuff, here's a link if you wanna read more about it: https://www.theverge.com/2018/3/2/17070624/google-youtube-wilberg-recruiter-hiring-reverse-discrimination-lawsuit

posted a message on 50Min Game because of Opponent Roping every turn

They are throwing away their lives, annoying for you one game perhaps but in the long run they are the one paying the price of wasting their time and life in all other game that aren't against you. I will concede to them sometimes when i see that they are roping so that i save some time but also to incentive them to keep doing that. Haha, like giving alcohol to alcoholic or telling a suicidal dude that the world sucks.

And what is it all for? 3 gold? Well done mate, i'm sure that you will look back at all that roping on your death bed with pride.

posted a message on Ben Brode Leaves Blizzard Entertainment

You know that Ben prioriteized fun over balance and end game hardcore pro player games. He was never about skills or impressive play or about e-sports, he just wanted to have fun with his game, which is maybe why he left, he was tired of blizzard and their insane push on e-sports, perhaps his next game will be more focused on fun rather than balance.

Nah, as long as you aren't doing it there shouldn't be any problem, remember that we all have a limited amount of time on this planet and if he wanna sit out the time watching a rope burning then let him. Yes you will lose 1 minute of your life and so will he in this match, however add up everytime he does that to other players and you'll see that he's throwing away his life by cumulatively roping away his games. In the end of the day you've wasted 1 minute of game time where as he have cumulatively wasted a lot of minutes. You do the math, 1 minute < several minutes. He's the loser in the end of the day, so let him rope all day long, that's probably something he'll remember on his death bed and can look back at with pride.

posted a message on Player Retention Issues - is losing too punishing and expensive?

    1) how often do you play decks you don't really enjoy playing? (but are justified by good winrate)

Very rarly, only if i have to get a quest done with a boring class and i'm sitting on 3 quests.

    2) have you ever crafted a deck that you absolutely enjoy playing, but eventually had to drop it because it wasn't giving you progress?

Have i ever craft a deck i enjoy playing? Yes, several times, drop playing cuz of lost progress? What progress?

    3) how are you guys doing with your friend lists? is it dead/dying/growing/full? are people you enjoy playing with staying in the game? etc.

I don't know, i don't keep this stats, sometimes people play the game, sometimes they take breakes and sometimes they come back.

    4) how do you react to losing? what thoughts cross your mind on average?

i don't care, for every game there have to be a loser, as long as the person i'm playing against isn't roping i don't care.

    5) how do you deal with losing streaks?

Stop playing or i play another deck.

    6) how often do you add a meta deck player as opposed to a non-meta deck player after a match?

I have no idea how i'm know which is which, how should i know if a deck is meta or not? It's not like you can have or get copyright on a deck. Building a deck first does equal to absolutly nothing.

    7) do you think that some reward for losing should also be given out, similar to for example Gwent? (carefully managed and gated to avoid abuse, of course)

Nah, my enjoyment of video games have exactly zero affinity with whether i win or lose. My enjoyment out of a game doesn't boil down to if it says "victory" or "defeat" at the end screen.

    - the game is too expensive, causing players to shy away from experimenting and building what they actually want to build

I don't think it's to expensive, you do your daily quest and you'll get enough gold. For each and evey expansion i've saved up to around 18k or something like that, then i can buy like 100 packs and get the most out of an expansion. And then when next expansion is coming out i'll have around 18k once again.

    - losing translates into useless EXP and lost time, which stacks on top of the first point

Lost time? Are you trying to catch a bus or something? Why are you losing time? Aren't you playing video games to waste time? Or is this your career? If that's so, then get another career, playing games for a living isn't very good or stable.

    - people that invest less money are generally unable to invest into anything but safe decks for a long time till they earn enough (and even then they need to ration their resources carefully)

Not at all, i've invested 0 real money, however i've also done each and every daily quest since beta, but still i got plenty of gold and dust.

    - the combination of collection management causes too much stress, forcing decks and decisions that eventually lead into playing decks you don't really want to play against players in the same situation.

    What?

    - game is too punishing and difficult for f2p.

Difficuty? As in understanding how to play a game without a coatch teaching you the basic? Why is it punishing? Do you get locked out of the game if you aren't playing enough legendaries or winning a lot? A win is something you earn, nothing you have a right to get. You are not entitled to a win, you'll have to work hard for a win. Life doesn't work as in you getting a medal for just showing up.

    - other games on the market provide far more enjoyment on average.

Then play other games, you have no legal nor physical obligation to play this game, with this amount of "punishment" and suffering you seem to experience from this game maybe it's time to quit, i mean you didn't expect yourself to play this game forever, or did you see yourself in the future in 16 years, 40 expansion down the line to still be playing this game? You cannot play the same game for and infinite amount of time, eventually you'll get sick of any game, activity or person.

    - after reaching Legend there was nothing left to do.

Then move on with you life and play something else or do something else. I've heard that the career of a doctor is quite challenging and rewarding.

posted a message on Hearthside Chat: Monster Hunt - Releases at 10 AM PDT on April 26

Seems nice, i really liked those dungeon runs, what's made it boring for me after a while was that you always had the same start up deck, same cards over and over, which sort of forced the coming picks in a certain direction. Make it random or make it one deck out of a few starting decks, or hell, let us pick the starting deck ourself, if not by entirety by ourselves but in a sort of arena picking fasion.

posted a message on 5 Cards that really need to get nerfed

haha that balista shoot is a joke, upgrade the hero power from 2 to 2? Yeah, let's build a whole deck around that.

And then about cube i think people will just have to learn to play against it. Some cards are te key cards for the entire decks, such as reno, cube or like alextraza, so i actually think that they should add cube to standard so we'll always have to see that card so that people could finally stop asking for a nerf and actaully learn to play against it by teching against it or something. You have a bunch of card that can be used against it, why not put any of those cards in your deck and counter the card instead of playing your own greedy same:y decks and giving blizzard orders about nerfing cards.

Get good, bro. I tech double scorp-o-matic in every deck I build to counter OP Dire Mole.

That's a really good idea. That's how tech cards should be used. If he finds the card so problematic he ought to use that card to counter it.

How can you not have heard of them, those are like THE players you are talking about when you are talking about pro players... I don't know what kind of underground "pro" players you know of but this is like common sense level of pro players.
