Paralytic (or many other words with ending with "-ic", for that matter) can be used as a noun, an adjective or an adverb. Here paralytic is used as an adjective which modifies the noun (poison) to mean: a poison with paralyzing properties.
Many words in English can be used in different contexts to function as any of the word classes, so it can be difficult to tell at a glance.
I didn't like "Book of Heroes" either. Forcing a background story of a character into a series of card games is not easily done, and Jaina's story seemed rushed out, with both gameplay and storytelling suffering.
Maybe the others are better, but it does not seem like this is something the devs put a lot of resources into.
You know, Quest Druid is still a thing. I piloted it to great success before the rotation hit, and depending on the upcoming support, it might keep being viable. Ashes expansion was very meager on Choose One cards, but the archetype is still solid. I LOVE using my golden Cenarius in this deck. I say keep it.

WOW. Tell me about entitlement. You seriously need to take a deep look into your mind and try to at least see where lies the problem. Because that sort of thinking should best be kept to yourself. I mean if it helps you better justify all the money you threw at Activision Blizzard all these years, fine. But stop patronizing other people over it. GEEZ.

That's actually intentional. There was a developer interview with Frodan where the developer said that they made it so on purpose.
