I think the mechanic of revealing cards to your opponent is a good one if you are paying less for the card. For example: a 3 mana - draw 3 cards and reveal them to your opponent could be balanced and playable I think. You get premium card advantage at the expense of giving your opponent information. This could also work with card generation cards - I think it's a good idea to give it to some cards but not all.

AsclepiusMD posted a message on Make generated cards known to both playersPosted in: General DiscussionQuote from UltraJeeves >>Card generation upsets a lot of players, but also allows for more game variety and situational play.
Possible fix: Why not make generated cards known to both players?
The player generating cards can still respond flexibly to the game state, but her or his opponent will have a much better idea of what to expect and can plan and play accordingly.
kind of okay with the idea... similar to TCGs wherein you have to prove / show to your opponent that the card you tutored is indeed the one mentioned in the card played
"Search your library / deck for X card and show it to your opponent, afterwards, shuffle the deck"somewhat gives you an idea that a said card is in hand and gives you a chance to play around it (as you said) but I don't think blizz will implement such mechanics...

LOL! I'm 48 with pass and do quests every day. Which means you must play for 12 hours a day 3 times a week!

Amaranthus posted a message on Nerfs AnnouncedPosted in: General DiscussionGood nerfs, I think. Deck of Lunacy will return to being a meme. Refreshing Spring Water still looks too strong though, so No Minion Mage might stick. Sword of the Fallen will still be strong, but not broken. Finally no endless Pen Flingers to the face anymore, I'm so glad about that. The nerf to Jandice Barov is understandable. The Watch Post nerfs look a bit like overkill though.
Also, this time tomorrow I will be 3200 dust richer. Nice. I will dry a tear for Jandice, but none for DoL.

Why would they? it's only a problem in bronze ranks. The last 3 guys that played tickatus vs me died the turn after.

TwistedCardmaster posted a message on Tickatus is good or bad for this game because...Posted in: Card DiscussionAccording to Vicious Syndicate (https://www.vicioussyndicate.com/vs-data-reaper-report-192/) the deck's overall performance puts it into T4 category right now... except bronze, where it's very close to T1. That actually says a lot about those "Tickatus is BROKEN OP and I can't beat it!" complaints on hearthpwn...

Baldassar posted a message on Overlord Saurfang should let you discover what you resurrectPosted in: General DiscussionSaurfang is fine the way he is. He's strong, without being overpowered, and requires deckbuilding choices to be made.
The problem is that the rest of the warrior class seems to be a bit lackluster right now.

Enjoyable last game with this deck at D5. Got to play C'Thun three times before finally sinking a res Priest. Happy days!

Same here.

I've found Duels fun so far. I'm much more likely to break up my Standard ladder play with a game of Duels than one of the other modes. I rarely play Arena and Battlegrounds has never appealed.
The new mode also gives me a reason to learn about the older sets. I never had much of an incentive before as I don't play Wild.
Another new game mode coming next year.

Played a couple of runs this afternoon after work. It's good fun!

In recent times I've tended to amass slightly over 8,000 gold in the 4 months leading up to a new expansion - mostly completing my dailies on ladder. While I suspect I play more than most, I doubt I'm a complete outlier or my experience is too atypical.
Releasing Darkmoon Faire 3 weeks earlier than expected means my pile will be about 1,400 gold or 14 expansion packs lighter. On the upside, we get to play the new content sooner.
Additionally, landing in the mid-diamond ranks most months nets me an additional 8 packs per month (4 SA and 4 classic packs), a sprinkling of dust and gold, and the occasional epic card. I have 5-6 Arena tickets, too, with rewards attached.
HS isn't cheap or overly generous, but I don't mind paying for a game that I play regularly and is being actively developed.
The upcoming game changes sound promising. Let's see.

Big fan of DH. Don't main it, but think it's been a great addition to the game. Limited RNG, interesting flavour and good for new or returning players.
Starting HS now is a time-intensive and/or expensive endeavour. It took me the better part of two years to get a halfway decent standard collection. DH allows newbies to play competitive decks without too much difficulty.

Picked up Headmaster Kel'Thuzad, Keymaster Alabaster and 2500ish in dust from the bundle.

There's no reason one can't be on HearthPwn, Out of Cards and Hearthstone Top Decks, is there?

First pre-release bundle I've purchased.
5 legendaries from the 85 packs: Forest Warden Omu (pack 5), Rattlegore (pack 36), Lord Barov (pack 48), Mindrender Illlucia (pack 63) and a golden Speaker Gidra (second-to-last golden pack). 19 epics.
Haven't been particularly keen on Priest, Paladin or Warrior since starting to play in early 2019, but let's see how things turn out!

Everyone gets a free legendary and 6 SA packs through quests.
