There's not really any pirate synergy in standard, is there? Might as well just be neutral minions.
What he said. There's no pirate tribe specific draw, no way to cheat anything and none of the pirates do anything that interesting. You could probably try a poison weapon deck but you'd be forcing pirates for much better cards.
What’s that? Wild is unbalanced? Not seen a thread mention it for at least 20 minutes.
That's actually quite an impressive feat considering the average wild player can't go 10 minutes without announcing to the whole world that they play wild.
First rule about playing wild mode in hearthstone is to make sure you never let anyone forget that you play wild regardless if of them asking or online card games even being part of the conversation.
No I don't, because Wild is fine and the people whining about it are NOT the dedicated Wild players.
Wild has been ignored almost with no balance patches, cards breaking the format every other expansion
This is not true and I wonder why you need to lie about it. When a combo deck breaks the format because it's too fast and consistent, they IMMEDIATELY (within days) nerf it.
So if they don't nerf something, you can always assume it is NOT breaking Wild format and to problem comes from your ability to build or play a deck.
Remember a few weeks ago when everyone was bitching about APM mage being the worst and most broken and oppressive deck ever created ? Where are these people now ? I guess they found a new deck to hate.
I couldn’t care less about skins, but (in an ideal world) if the money from them is keeping the game healthy I’m not against paid cosmetics. I’m surprised blizz haven’t leant more into charging for cosmetics like in overwatch and WoW to be honest. There’s so much they could do with board ‘toys’, emotes, colour schemes, music etc.
There’s an article on the wiki somewhere saying this interaction has always been in the game. I had the same thing with the frenzy minion that attacks a random enemy after taking damage and looked it up. I guess it’s such a rare interaction that it takes you by surprise when it happens.
Weapons are "sheathed" during the opponent's turn, bringing hero Attack back to zero during that time. Therefore, minions only take retaliatory weapon damage in the rare case of hitting a hero on the hero's own turn - currently only possible through Misdirection.[1]
This would be absolutely gamebreaking in all the wrong ways. Routinely play two loathebs on turn 10 and lock out all spells for finishers? That sounds absolutely HORRENDOUS to play against.

They need a lot more counters to draw, discovery and too a lesser extent deck destruction. Games are far too uninteractive at the moment because of these 3 elements.
Meta seems fairly balanced with no real unbeatable decks. The problem for me is -
a. (As someone who doesn't like to play pure aggro) Losing to non interactive decks with insane card draw, deck destruction or discovering an out to every situation just don't make for satisfying games.
b. Card pool is too small so everything is far too consistent.
If the above 3 win conditions are going to continue then Blizz need to print better tech cards to counter them, especially draw and discover. Shenanigans just isn't going to cut it.
Looking forward to the mini expansion though and hopefully at least getting some answers to the above play styles and hopefully boards becoming more important again.
I do think the extent of netdecking is to the determent of the game, but I also understand it’s a competitive game and there are many reason to netdeck. Blizzard could do so much to alleviate this though, where they could make casual the place to go for people who want to experience variety.
As long as you’re prepared for longer wait times they could implement options like don’t play the same class more than once every five games, no mirror matches, even ban a class if you’re fed of seeing them.
Of course this wouldn’t be possible on ladder where you expect to see T1 decks, but I can’t see how this would be in any way detrimental to the casual game mode.
You can discuss word order and context until the cows come home, we all know that overloading a mana crystal regardless of how it happens should trigger unbound elemental. Anything else is just a level of nit-picking from team 5 that is not evident anywhere else in the game. Shamans have it hard enough without this bullshit.
Hearthstone does differentiate between "An X card" and "When Y occurs," and it has done so for years. True, there are a relatively small number of examples of these interactions, but they do exist, and they are meaningful distinctions.
I agree that Unbound Elemental ought to have its wording changed to function more like Tunnel Trogg (in activation condition, but not buffing for each crystal Overloaded), but as it currently stands, Unbound Elemental not triggering from Guidance is correct according to the wording.
You're right, I'm not debating the wording is technically the reason the cards don't synergize. In a simple game like HS though with such a niche mechanic exclusive to one class, overloading a mana crystal should be overloading a mana crystal. In my opinion if the keyword in on the card in bold either make them synergize or just don't use it.

I’m guessing they’re all vegans too.

I'd love to see a game mode where cards are balanced by the hearthpwn forums. Can you imagine?

Nevermind...

Sounds fine in Hearthstone 2021 to me.

Bad Luck Albatross should be core set.

Devolving Missiles can be pretty effective against a few of those decks.
