posted a message on warlock is even more cancerous than before
    Quote from RandomNoob >>

When you basically delete Demon Hunter OTK, Druids and Paladins will be less popular on ladder. People cheered and laughed at DH nerf because one time they got killed on turn 5 and now the same people complain about the meta being solely Warlock, mage and shaman.

The community gets what it deserves sometimes, but they think it's always Blizzard's fault 100 %.

Let's not beat around the bush, OTK DH may have been holding some undesirable parts of the meta back, but the deck itself was also 100% pure cancer to the game.

I think Blizzard dodged giving out too much dust by leaving all the quests intact.

Pretty sure he didnt want control to be dead. Hé only stated that the decks that has no wincon and only want to control the board till fatigue shouldnt be promoted.

So hé wants control be able to control the early and mid game so the decks can outvalue with their high costed win conditions.

Good example is rattlegore. If a control warrior can safely play the card he probaly outvalued the aggro/ midrange player anyway so there is no point to try to outvalue the opponent into fatigue.

Another example is lord jaraxus and the priest quest.

So in short, they dont want control to be dead. Only the fatigue type of decks.

The funny thing is in Quest lock we've got a fatigue deck, just one that can do it in less than 10 turns.

It will be interesting what nerfs they make, whether they let control back in or clear the way for aggro. I know the 2 are generally intertwined but we'll see what they favour the most.

I'm guessing that they've had instructions from the higher ups to reduce game times and make HS more accessable to mobile players with the aim for games to rarely go past turn 10. I'm guessing control will never come back unless it's a deck that they didn't play test, but they'll keep printing control cards to appeal to the faithful.

And yes, since this is a competitive game, I couldn't give a thimbful of jizz about my opponent's fun, mine is what matters and I'm having metric tons of it. Best expansion in the past few years, hands down.

You can have whatever opinion you want on the expansion, but not caring if your opponent is enjoying the game is fairly short sighted if you want to be playing HS in the long term with queues. As blizz dont release figures the game might be in rude health, no one knows, but if they don't sort out their public image and keep releasing expansions as devisive as Stormwind personally I worry for the long term future of the game.

posted a message on Balance vs feel

This latest expansion has obviously been fairly polarising in the lack of interaction introduced with the new quests, but seems fairly balanced around classes + winrate.  After reading all the nerf/hate/love threads I was wondering what is more important to you? What should the balance of performance vs feel be when it comes to nerfs? I personally dislike games being over by turn 7/8 with the opponent just drawing their deck while doing their own thing and believe the game should be balanced more around player 'feel'. Obviously a lot of people play HS purely for the win / competition, regardless of how the game plays though and just want HSreplay to show that all classes have a playable deck. I'm not saying either is right and it's whatever floats your boat.

Stop telling us how to percept and feel about this bullshit game. You sound like one of those early counter strike aimbotters who claimed there are no cheats and you just need to get better. I even wasted precious dust and crafted expensive druid cards to counter that shit. ANd i really hate playing druid. And guess what. TWO questmages so far, the rest where HARDCOUNTERS for my druid. Yeah yeah, just random, i dont have enough samples, do you even know how statistic works, get gud, blah blah. Tada, and then i switch back to my own selfmade deck,.. .quest mage and warlocks are back. Yeah yeah.

Funny how that works, right?  I've tried quest druid for roughly 10 matches and all but 2 have been against decks which played taunt minions in some way shape or form.

Nearly every other game with any other deck has been against a mage or quest warlock

Be careful what you imply about matchmaking being anything but 100% random on these forums, they'll be after you with their pitchforks...

Blablabla, every expansion is the same, ppl saying HS is doomed then guys like you two come up n claim, no no its not that bad, blabla. Still, the new expansion had a huge impact, especially in Wild

     >especially in Wild

No one plays Wild. If everyone who played Wild quit the game all at once hearthstone would see like a 2% drop in revenue. People on these forums obsess over Wild like its the biggest game mode in the game when it might barely make it to 4th.

These forums always bring up Wild balance like it matters. It doesnt. Cards are not balanced around Wild and no one cares what the Wild meta is like.

Literally, every Wild game played since the xpac together according to HSReplay does not even come halfway to the number of Standard matches played with Quest Mage alone. Wild makes up maybe 5% of all Constructed games at this point. Stop bringing it up.

     Preach brother. 👏🏻

    Quote from Sarlatan >>

There are too many things that are inherently broken in this game now. The devs had decided to take this road and no amount of nerfs will change that. They want to appeal to the casual playerbase by printing very easy to navigate, near broken cards. It's the casuals that bring in the big bucks. They want to suggest that anyone can be at the top of the food chain, all they need is a credit card and 5 mins to look up the latest netdeck. The devs might nerf a thing or two just to silence the disgruntled masses but in reality nothing really changes, broken stuff remain broken and the mentality stays the same.

I agree. We’re too far down the rabbit hole for any nerfs to make a difference so I don’t think they should bother. There are too many broken decks waiting in the background to replace anything that is nerfed. It’s probably time for everyone to accept and enjoy HS in its current state or move along.

Being out of cards feels bad though and I don’t think blizzard want anyone to feel bad anymore while they’re playing HS. They want everyone to have massive plays every turn and each game to end in an explosion of colours and fancy effects at the cost of considerably dumbing down the game.

Except Priest. Their card draw ability still feels vanilla compared to everyone else. Most cards want you to spend 2 mana on your heropower and then more mana to play that minion with the draw effect. All that for one card.

Playing devils advocate as someone who enjoys playing priest, I would say discover and the ease in which priest finds answer cards is even more divisive than draw.
