posted a message on New expansion?

Good - Demon hunter, even if it was busted to begin with. Once a new expansion comes out I think it will be a great addition to the game.

Bad - Constant loses to pure RNG and classes killing you with randomly found cards from other classes

Difficult to answer without knowing your collection and what you like to play. There are good cards in GA but if you just want Reno, it might prove too expensive

Reno is the card I'm most interested in, but the other useful cards are cool too.

I've been meaning to play mage for a few months and was going to spend some dust, but I had to hold back due to the state of the meta. I generally like midrange and control decks.

If you enjoy the RNG based class that mage has become then I guess Reno is a card worth having.

Too right. If you like pretty colours, explosions and don't care if you win or lose then mage is the class for you. It's a lot of fun even if random Pyroblast seems to go your own face everytime.

posted a message on I would like to see more anti-highlander tech introduced

It should have been the other way round. Un-nerf albatross and make highlander decks run an understatted tech card with a high mana cost for removing 1 mana minions. That way they lose valuable deck space to a poor card that maybe useless, may burn their own useful 1 mana cards but do have an answer to BLA.

Although the meta will change with the next expansion, I’d be surprised if there are many mage decks that don’t run Reno while it’s in standard.

He already has almost no gold. If he is about to farm for the adventure, he will most likely have 0, when the expansion hits. You are assuming in the new expansion there will be no more important cards than Reno, which is false, because we don't know. Also, even disregarding expansion, Reno will rotate out in a few months either way - it's a short term investment.

If you are a F2P player (which the guy seems to be), you need to carefully manage your gold and not spend it on the cards, which will rotate out soon (yes, few months is pretty soon for a f2p player). I can't imagine, how one Reno can be more beneficial to a F2P player, than 25 packs of the newest expansion.

Also there is a chance Reno WILL become irrelevant - all you need to have is an aggro meta. Reno already was dropped at the start of this format, simply because turn 10 clear was a ridiculously greedy play vs DH and in most games the card was simply sitting in your hand doing nothing. And then you were dead. Only after nerfs people added Reno, Kalecgos and other greedy cards back, simply because entire meta slowed down.

There is no evidence behind assuming the next meta won't be aggro focused. And if it will be... Good luck having Reno, but no gold to buy a single pack of the new expansion.

I don't agree with most of what you said apart from one thing -'There is no evidence'. Pretty much invalidated most of your own points.

So without evidence you advocate spending weeks of farming gold, while I without evidence advocate to wait and see. Pretty much it invalidates my points, not yours :)

No I just said I can see Reno being useful in future metas. I gave no advice at all about if they should buy the expansion.

On a pure dust level, youll probably get more from the expansion than the same value in packs.

Well that isn’t strictly true now is it.

One of the sweeter things in HS is someone adding you as a friend after beating them and then pathetically trying to insult you before unfriending you again. Sweet, sweet nectar. As most people can barely stand to be emoted at though without getting tilted the chances of chat happening is about as much as Edwin being HoF'ed.

posted a message on Shaman is completely shut out of the meta right now

I love shaman class but it feels so toothless right now. I’ve resorted to even trying Pit Crocolisk in quest shaman just to try and get some sort of win condition. In the current meta big minions just don’t cut it, and that’s all shammy has.

Teron gorefiend otk mage deck with antiniodas and doubling the two mana 3/2 card which reduces cost of spells by one using khadgar.

Sounds like an interesting idea! I don’t mind otk decks as long as you’ve got to work for them and the deck has enough weaknesses to balance out the otk. I’m a big fan of MarkMcKz’s work.

posted a message on Last time a deck surprised you?

Can you remember the last time you didn’t play a deck that either wasn’t in the top 5 on HSreplay or being played by Thijs that day? I’ve played plenty of games today and except 1 shaman deck I could tell you the deck list of every single one after they played the first card. Even played a few games in casual hoping to see some clever decks but all net decks.

I don’t know how blizz could encourage deck building again but they could make it so you never play the same class more than say twice in 10 games, even if it’s in casual. I understand that there are top tier decks and people who play those decks because they’re competitive, but there should be more options for people who want to play interesting games rather that the same priest, rogue and hunter decks that just play out the same way every single game.

I tried the concept and it's a blast. Quite competitive, too.

I approve of this insanity! :)

I've been having a lot of success with it too! It controls the board pretty well, you've always got a full hand, it puts out reasonble minions that need dealing with and  the boxes are generally favourable. It's annoying when box draws 15 cards or heals up your opponent, but you can't be upset when your whole game plan is just to do as much random stuff as possible. Plus it's a lot of fun to play.

Apologies for the harsh reply, you just took the brunt of some of my frustrations with these boards. I was perfectly entitled to post this thread where I did though and you should consider this before writing what comes across as a non constructive and pissy reply that had no real value.
