All the football and boxing and other sport analogies are just plain wrong. Those sports are presided over by a human who is given the task of interpreting that sports rules as they see fit, be it time wasting or running from an opponent, and are therefore generally incosistent. Also those sports, especially boxing, have 'unwritten rules' about things like not running or turning your back on an opponent that have existed for decades. All competitive sports / pastimes have their form or roping though and if you don't believe that is true you need to leave your basements and enjoy sometime in the real world.
The 2 minute time limit in HS is the mosts consistent part of the game and people should be able to do with it as they see fit. Would I be adverse to changes to the 2 minutes rule? No. I can I see a chess timer style set up where both players get maybe 12 minutes per game working. Rules are rules though and people need to put on their big boy pants, stop crying about it and suck it up.
Secret mage is a problem because the turn 1 plays are just way too strong and the card draw/burn has reached a critical mass that can't really be dealt with. If you nerf the 1-drop and either Runner or Kirin Tor Mage by one mana, the deck is much more beatable. It also speaks volumes that secret mage was the deck with the best options against Tiller, even without teching anything. Token druid can be very strong but as long as priest is in the meta, the deck is not top tier and not nerf material. Odd paladin and kingsbane rogue are both no big deal, I haven't seen pirate warrior in like 2 months, the deck seems dead to me.
Regarding Hysteria nerf, I agree that it was probably wrong to nerf Hysteria instead of Tiller. However, in general, not nerfing probematic wild cards because the cards are relevant in standard is not a valid argument because the formats are independent. Unfortunately, new sets have a very high power level right now. Standard should actually be the format with less power, so a card that is problematic in wild should almost automatically be a problem in standard too, unless there is a very specific interaction in wild. Blizzard has to reduce standard power level.
As much as I agree, the power level in standard is way too far down the rabbit hole for Blizzard to dial it back now. Can you imagine if people had to include a 4 mana do nothing but stats like Yeti in their deck these days?
As for nerfs that effect standard and wild, surely we are at a point where in a game that has 5 different modes to understand, we could include both versions of a card depending on the format?
As so many people play wild if it needs balancing they should do it. Personally I'm in the 'wild is wild' camp but after so many years the 'brokeness' must be reaching a critical mass.
What should never happen though is a card that is still in standard is nerfed to accomodate something that is broken in wild like they did with Hysteria. Kill the tiller or the deathspeaker first. Hysteria seems like a strong card that might have got nerfed at some point anyway but it should only happen when it's breaking the standard format.
Imo it depends on what type of player you are I guess. If you like deck building but are still missing a few cards then I'd say it's worth it. If you like playing optimal tier 1 decks then you've probably already got all the cards you need and it's a waste of money. I would say the $19.99 set is probably better value at this point in the expansion?
You could probably spend a lot more getting 3 legendaries though (if you presume you get at least 1 in the 20 packs also).
Devoted maniac is going too far. Thats too big a loss of tempo these days. 6 invokes are plenty. Maybe teck in some cards to replace the Maniacs? Like SW Ruin/ and a 10 drop to Corrupt ypur Clowns. I made a similar list and the clowns werent getting corrupted at all. Prob remove those too for other tempo plays or healing. Maybe Plague of Death? for late game clears.
I've been finding generally I can get at least 1 clown discounted enough to corrupt it, even if it's with the other clown. Maniacs are slow but getting claw early has won me a couple of games. I did have 2 x renew but swapped it Breath to try and get past the early game. Might try renew's instead of maniacs.
Is it anymore broken than a 4 mana 4/8 with taunt?
We had the same card -1 hp and no condition + you could buff it until nerf. Was it overwhelmingly powerful? Not really. Barricade is just bad, can’t imagine playing it
I didn't say it was a good card, but it is technically 2 less stats plus taunt for 2 mana less than the card op is saying is op.
It isn't about specific decks or match ups or metas, it's about the shadow the card casts over the deck building process as a whole. Imagine if they added a card like Skulking Geist that maybe destroyed all 1 cost cards back in how much the face rollers would complain about it.
Plus with the insane draw Warlocks just got finding your tickatus and Y'shaarj is going to be easier than ever.
well, jumping to the conclusion the game could be rigged bc of 2 DCs which didn't even happen on the same day screams confirmation bias... your winning position is not an argument. If blizzard wanted you to lose or your opponents would have somehow cheated they could disconect you right away and save a lot of time instead of waiting for you to finally have lethal
edit: your statement, that you've been thrown in the queue after the disconnect should tell you, that the servers just were overused on these days.
Another basement dwelling snyde. If you read my original statement I never said it was a conspiracy, I had merely had 2 strange occurences over that period and wondered if anyone had experienced anything similar or maybe knew if anything was wrong with the game. I quote
" Just wondered if anyone else has had this issue or heard of any problems."
Edwin is the only classic legendary that has seen play in months, if not years, which tells you everything you need to know about his power level. As Andrea Bocelli one said, time to say goodbye.

Bullshit. I invited the clever little pricks that infest these forums to talk shit from behind their keyboards.

Mate you are such a loser.

Thoughts are it's wild and wild nerfs should never effect cards that still exist in standard.

So by that logic the counter to every card that has been HoF'ed needs to be HoF'ed too?
