There are quite a few cards that are basically reprints of old cards (ice lance, barnes to name two off the top of my head). That might be what gives you that feeling. But, there are quite a few cards that look like a lot of fun to play with, especially in Wild, which is where I have most fun these days anyway.
It's a fun deck to play, and at this point that's all I do since the game is in such a terrible state. You probably don't need 2x Cataclysm either, 1x should do.
So 3 card OTK combo, Mecha C'thun, Naturalize and Innervate. Skulking Geist destroys you but oh well. You already have a great control/stall shell in Druid... and this seems more unstoppable than Maly. Hemet probably better than UI to get rid of your deck.
The difference between this and Faceless is massive. With this, you don't need the minion to survive. 2 turn lethal is much more certain now. But not even that, you can set it up turns and turns earlier by just playing malygos whenever. As long as he was the last minion you played, this guy is a 4-mana malygos. Play him, swipe, moonfire, moonfire, DK hero power is 24 damage, and there are much more degenerate combos than that!
I can see where it could get tricky if you are holding on to him for X reason, but still seems weird how druid gets all this janky broken shit.
Best way to get into wild is going to be to wait for Doomsday Project to come out and then build Mech Mage. It's cheap, quick and effective already, and now we're getting a whole set dedicated to making Mechs more powerful.
The excitement definitely wears off. When you're opening 100+ packs you know you'll get all the commons and almost all rares as 2-ofs, so then it's just a crap shoot of which epics and legs you get. Most of the good stuff you'll just end up crafting anyway, so I've found it to be more and more of a chore each expansion (have been opening 100+ packs each expansion since GvG).

4 mana is very expensive. It might see play, but might not too.

Affects Flanking Strike too, which is strong already. Don't think it's good enough but yeah, not just for face!

Shocked is definitely a key there. Some mech hero with no lore behind it I'm guessing.

D'oh, read it as Battlecry for some reason and thought: this card is nuts!
Now I read it as "pack filler"!

That's a lot of wall. It's 4 hits worth of taunt for 5 mana... that's pretttty goooood.

If Mech is a thing, this is going to be beastly. Flexible, threatening, good.

It really really isn't.

I must have gotten lucky because the one time I faced him I beat him. Same with the Faceless dude. Didn't fight either of them as final boss though.
