Quote from Real_MrHotTits >>The card says "when YOU summon", not "when a minion is summoned", it's quite different.

Horkinger posted a message on New Paladin card - Steward of DarkshirePosted in: Card DiscussionJust read the Cards again:And in particular Imp Master :"At the end of your turn, (...) summon a 1/1 imp"It is pretty clear that it is "you" who summons the imp. Same wording as in Muster for Battle . Knife Juggler also explicitly states "after you summon a minion ..." and it triggers also if you take control of a minion or put a minion from your deck onto the board. I.e. nearly every minion that appears on your board Counts as being summoned by "you". -

Horkinger posted a message on The Problem with Whizbang the WonderfulPosted in: Card DiscussionQuote from Lyra_Silvertongue >>Quote from Haussenfuss >>I love the idea and I was deciding to craft a golden version when the expansion launches. However, I am a wild player and I realized that all the deck recipes are in standard. So Blizzard will either have to add some wild recipes (very unlikely because of the variety of decks you can make in wild) or this card will be nearly useless in wild.
No one is going to play Whizbang in order to be competitive - he's "nearly useless" in Standard as it is. He's a great design, allowing everyone who doesn't take the game seriously, and all the part-time players with tiny collections, to have a blast playing HS with a bunch of cards that would otherwise take years for them to collect.
I'm a wild player and I love to play all sorts of meme decks. However, with this card I can't enjoy any of the wild-only cards I enjoy messing around or experimenting with. As a wild player explain how I am to have a blast with this card exactly?
Even Renounce Darkness gives you access to wild cards when meming on your opponent. This card might as well read; "Change the format to standard (But only for you LULGIGGLE!)"
The easiest solution for you is to simply jump off your “wild only” attitude and play him in standard. There you likely will also be at a rank to get a good amount of wins. Or simply play standard casual.

The new lolz decks are fun. for a person like me with nothing to play for anymore its toilet time fun. I feel sorry for ladder players trying to get their cardback or people playing for golden toons. I have to laugh at all the people who dust cards. You just don't get it that blizzard does this shit on purpose to make you spend money or be left behind. Cards will eventually be useful you just have to wait. Why does anyone dust anything? I'm enjoying the laughfest with a complete 80 percent gold collection. The game is more fun when you can play any deck you want. I got 5 golden legendaries one being mecathun. playing this draw my combo deck yawn and win is great lolz. This is really easy to play and wins more than it loses. I'm showing my 8 year old what to do and he already has 59% winrate with this. Thanks blizzard. I have new way to farm gold in casual. my son laughs so hard. This is the most ridiculous xpan ever released so far. Leave it to the people with nothing better to do to craft the decks then hand them over to your 8 year-old for gold farming. Thanks blizz! A+ on this one.....keep the auto pilots coming

Stiffanoid posted a message on Boomsday is kinda underwhelmingPosted in: General DiscussionNope, I feel fully whelmed by this release.
Day one and I have a full collection and it was great opening 270 packs, those two pre-orders you decried in a previous post were well worth it.
Loads of interesting decks to try out and I'm seeing way more decks with new cards in them than previous expansions. IMHO one of the best day one expansions in a long time.

linkblade91 posted a message on I don’t think Dr Boom is goodPosted in: Card DiscussionHaven't met anyone that truly thinks Mad Genius is a God-tier card. I'd say our opinion is that Dr. Boom looks like a good-natured, just plain fun card, for a class that's been struggling to find something truly enjoyable for some time.

I think to be fair this community has said that about any deck that has proved to be successful or popular. I understand that it is not fun to get your face bashed in by pirates, however Secret paladin was called cancer, face hunter was called cancer, freeze mage was called cancer, midrange shaman was called cancer, I have even seen reno decks being called cancer. The thing about card games that magic the gathering learnt the hard way is that no matter what the metagame is, there is always going to be at least one dominant deck, so in that sense people in this community will always call a deck cancer no matter what the metagame is. It is like no matter what cards blizzard make, any deck that that is strong in the metagame is going to be called cancer no matter whether the deck is aggro, midrange or control. Blizzard could release an expansion focused on a control metagame and print no minions below three mana and people will still find a deck to call cancer. The whole "This deck is ruining hearthstone" has been said in pretty much every single expansion.

After seeing some of the stuff the devs get called on these forums, I am not surprised they are not as community orientated. I understand that if you are a game developer you need a thick skin, but if a dev came on to this forum, they would just get abused like hell because of the amount of salty people on here. If a dev came on here and wanted to communicate with this community about why there are players unhappy with the game, on these forums what would most likely happen is that instead of a calm discussion, it would turn into a barrage of toxic abuse. If Ben Brode came on to these forums and opened a discussion thread, well I don't think I can even say what I think he would get called on here.

I am enjoying this meta a lot more than the midrange shaman meta in Karazhan. At least it does not want to make me punch myself. It is all a matter of opinion. Some people will agree with you, some people won't. I remember undertaker hunter after naxx and that meta sucked! This meta is not that bad as far as I am concerned.

For countering jade shaman and jade druid, I find that dragon priests are very good against the midrange Jade Shaman, however I find that Jade druid just stomps that deck or any control deck in general because against jade druid once you start to fall behind in momentum, they murder you with their late game of producing infinite cheap giant jade golems. Ironically Jade druid gets absolutely destroyed by aggro because its a deck that is slow to get going and can't reliably answer the early game onslaught from aggro decks.
People keep saying "i can't wait until reno rotates out" but because of how aggressive the pirate decks are, if reno rotates out, doesn't that mean that aggro does not have to worry about getting to turn 6 to kill you? I fear once reno rotates out, the game will devolve into an aggro fest unless we get some decent early game control cards in the next expansion. Reno jackson forces you to make your deck worse by having only one-offs in order to use its powerful effect. If it didn't than I would understand the "cancer" remarks. Besides when did it all of a sudden become cool to call things in general Cancer? The internet is weird.

The fact that people use the word cancer to describe decks is disgusting in my opinion. As far as I am concerned the way this community works is that no matter what, the most played decks in any meta will always be descibed as "cancer." Secret paladin was considered cancer, grim patron was called cancer, reno decks are called cancer, face hunter was called cancer, midrange shaman was called cancer, freeze mage is called cancer, jade druid is called cancer, pirate warrior is called cancer, miracle rogue has been called cancer, the old undertaker hunter was called cancer. Every deck that has been very successful in hearthstone has been referred to as cancer. No matter what new decks are created by new expansions or cards, if these decks are successful than they will be considered cancer by this community.
The thing about card games is that no matter what, there will always be at least one dominant deck. Also the most competitive decks in card games always tend to have something that is unfair about them. There are decks that have been problematic, overpowered and just not fun to play against, but none of them are what I would consider "cancerous."

To be fair to the OP, the main reason why people got a bit pissed about the BGH nerf was because it got nerfed around the same time Blizzard released the 4 mana 7/7 shaman card. However I do believe it did need to be nerfed because at one point any minion which was 7 attack or more was considered trash unless they did something immediately on the board because they would just get blown away by " I got the beast in my sights." When GVG cards were being reviewed before they were released, streamers actually said that Troggzor the Earthinator was good and Dr Boom "Would not see any play" just because Dr boom was a 7/7 and Troggzor was a 6/6 so it avoided getting BGH' ed. Although in my opinion I actually think that BGH should cost 4 mana, 5 in my opinion is overcosted because nobody wants to pay 5 mana for a 4/2.

It doesn't matter whether reno gets rotated out, pirate decks get nerfed, or the powerful shaman cards get rotated out, any new decks that comes out after the rotation and the expansion which is strong enough to become popular is going to get called cancer. Every deck that is successful is cancer according to this community.
The problem is that it seems that people want a meta in which they can play a variety of different decks or create new decks and be successful. The problem is that while this is the case at the start of a new expansion in which the meta is just a big mess, the meta settles down once the strongest decks are discovered and the strongest decks become the most popular decks to use because of how good they are and generally more players want to win rather than just having fun.
Once the strongest decks have been established, these are the decks you will generally come up against most of the time on the ladder, after a while some players get sick of these decks being used all the time and these decks get labelled as "cancer." Every single meta after a new expansion has gone like this. Any new deck that is successful in the next meta will get called cancer.
So the real question is what can be done to fix this?

I would say it is at least better than the last meta. People keep calling all the current decks cancer (which I think calling something cancer is just plain stupid to begin with in my opinion) but the tier 0 midrange shaman meta we had in karazhan made me want to punch myself. That meta was really not fun.
