Combined with Inner Fire this is an awesome card.

Nicholasjh posted a message on New Card Reveal - BatterheadPosted in: NewsI'd be careful about underestimating this card. Neutral psuedo board clear could be pretty good in classes thatdthat necessarily have that enabling archetypes that weren't possible before. It also seems pretty decent with res extra though priest can only run so many high cost minions

DyingAtheist posted a message on New Card - Unseen SaboteurPosted in: Card DiscussionSo, apparently, making an enemy discard his Pyroblast is unacceptable for Hearthstone devs but making him Pyroblast his own face is totally fine. Eh....
Let's be real, this card is too unreliable to actually see competitive play. Your opponent will Fireball his own face just as often as yours. For free. That's not good at all.
That's missing the entire point of the card. It's to disrupt combos and OTKs, not to use up fireballs or deal face damage.
I like the design, but unlike most people I think its unplayable.
Why? Do you guys remember the OG Yogg-Saron and why it was so good? Because a large portion of spells didnt require a target, they were just good when they were cast. Secrets, draw spells, summon spell, board clears, etc.
When you dont exactly know your opponents hand and just throw this guy, you could easily make one of the opponents beneficial spell make them cost zero. And this is Duskfallen Aviana level of bad.
Sure, there will be some Trolden highlights, and the card might see some tournament play, but in my opinion in ladder its hopeless.
Also missing the point. Combos - Mecha'thun in particular - are done at the end of the game when your opponent only has 2/3 cards and can burn through them all in one sweep, thus activating the combo and winning. As long as you play this card correctly it isn't possible to burn something that shouldn't be burned.

Hivemind56 posted a message on New Priest Legendary Card - Catrina MuertePosted in: NewsThis card is so dope. The fact that it's not this turn but this game is insane. They are doing such a good job on legendaries with this one I don't even care what ones I get.

Beatsz posted a message on Paladin Legendary Reveal - NozariPosted in: NewsI LOVE this card. It's very defensive, great against agro decks, can't be abused in a combo deck (at least not in standard) and will be amazing when you get it off Dragon Roar or some other random effect in another class. Can't wait to play this card, hopefully a control Paladin that can make use of Nozari is viable again.

I know that deck. But in my personal experience Pirate warrior was the main offender during MSOG. I have always found Pirate warrior to be faster during that meta, thats all. Or is my opinion going to lead to a flame war over which deck is faster, because I am only here to state my opinion, not here to argue over decks.

In my opinion the card seems to be fine. It is a balanced card which is not over-centralizing to the meta, it is not a "I win when I play this" card, and it is a legendary so you can only run one copy of it in a deck. Zilliax does not even appear in every single deck.
The only issue that I see players having a problem with this card is that it is used a lot. Good cards are always going to get played a lot. But if we are going to start 'taking a look' at cards that are not broken but are just played a lot and they end up getting nerfed to an unplayable state or hall of famed, than maybe players should not complain about getting weak expansions full of garbage cards because any good cards are going to get nerfed even if they are balanced.
I am all for balance changes in hearthstone but we must not overdo it, because too many balance changes can be just as unhealthy to a game as no balance changes. We must not get to the point where players are calling for balance changes to a card just because we lost to it in a match. We don't want to be reduced to just playing with mediocre or meme cards. But this is just my opinion, I am certainly not an expert.

The next expansion is going to be very significant. The year of the mammoth expansions are rotating out (Journey to ungoro, frozen throne, kobolds and catacombs) so a lot of very powerful cards are leaving standard. The problem that Blizzard have is with Genn and Baku in the game, the devs have to be EXTREMELY careful with the cards they print in the next expansion because it will only take 1 or 2 strong cards to create a meta breaking deck.
I remember when lifecoach went to play test for blizzard and he warned the devs not to release patches, but the devs released patches anyway resulting in pirate warrior murdering the meta. With Genn and Baku in the game now, the devs cannot afford to make anymore mistakes.

At the moment when the meta gets stale, it feels like an eternity before we hear news of the next expansion.

This is something I have been wondering about especially when new cards are first being revealed in upcoming expansions. I have noticed that whenever new cards are revealed in each new expansion, before the card has even been released a lot of people say that the card is garbage, it will never see play and that it will be the worst expansion ever. I remember when cards like Piloted shredder and Dr Boom were first revealed, people actually called those cards garbage. So my question is when a new card is revealed, what would convince you that it will be a good card on your first impression without having tested it?

This card has a yeti sized body which is pretty much the best vanilla stats you are going to get for a 4 drop and its effect can be used to transform a minion into a stronger one and unlike a lot of other 4 drops with an ability, this thing is not weak so you can play it on an empty board. It has an interesting effect and piloted shredder, the biggest excuse to call a 4 mana card garbage is rotating out of standard. Its a very good card which is not super OP, what more do people want from a 4 drop without making it broken or overpowered?

I think out of all of the nerfs, this is the card that has pretty much been nerfed to the levels of warsong commander and starving buzzard.

It will still be played, the ability is the reason you play it, not the 3 attack. At least the card did not end up like arcane golem and get pretty much deleted thankfully.
