posted a message on Isn't 'Rush' boring?

No its not. I have seen what hell this mechanic can do in shadowverse if you start making the minions too powerful. The point of rush is to allow you to fight for the board and not just SMORC your opponent. Treat the cards like spells instead of minions because the point of rush cards is to kill something when they come on board. Give the mechanic a chance, it is much healthier for the game than just just 'lol me go face' did you guys learn anything from pre nerf patches and Leeroy Jenkins?

Another one of those cards where I immediately went "Hey, pretty good!" only to find out everyone is pooping all over it.

Thats because I feel the community want cards to be meta defining in order to be considered good. The card is honestly fine.

posted a message on The Power level of Witchwood

Why do we have threads like this when in the previous expansion we had the exact same argument come up when cards like voidlord were showed early on and nobody saw the degenerate combo coming until the rest of the cards were revealed. A lot of cards don't feel powerful because on their own they are not. It takes a degenerate combo to break them.

And that is the thing about card reviews. When the community review cards, they are looking for something that is obviously broken or meta defining to get excited about. When a card like drakonid operative was first revealed, look at the initial comments. People loved the card despite the fact it was broken as hell. Cards that are actually fair which is good for the game get dismissed because they are not broken enough and that is not good. One card should not win you the game by itself. And if the power level gets toned down then that is actually good for the game because nobody wants decks like the yarr shouting, jack sparrow fanboying pirate warrior back that could kill you by turn 4.

I would say if their are ways a card can be useful, do not automatically dismiss it. The echo and rush cards can all be useful in terms of being able to use a card repeatedly on the same turn or killing something when they come out and they should not be underestimated. Rush proved itself to be a very strong mechanic in shadowverse and I feel people are really underestimating how strong a minion being able to instantly trade and kill something when it comes on the board actually is. If a minion trades and kills another minion when it comes into play than that is a huge tempo swing.

And cards being able to be casted multiple times in a turn in order to build a wall such as phantom militia, a repeatable deal two damage to a minion such as hunting mastiff or being a repeatable board clear such as warpath should not be underestimated. Echo and rush cards are good cards for the game.

posted a message on New Warlock Legendary - Lord Godfrey

People saying about liking the effect of rin more, When Rin was introduced this community absolutely HATED the card. The card was literally pillored from right to left, people said that the card was absolutely awful, would see no play whatsoever, said quote "how in any way is this card useful." Good to see that card actually getting some love now.

Now that I think about it, when it comes to evaluating new cards, usually the community only look for drakonid operative kind of cards. if they don't look obviously broken as hell, than the card is regarded as garbage.

About this card the effect is strong, if you use it at the right time it can basically clear the board and never underestimate that, 7 mana for a 4/4 is bad, but that is only the stats. The effect is actually pretty strong. Yeah the card is a bit boring, but the card is direct and does what it says on the tin, there is no randomness involved because you can control the effect it has on the board and usually these type of cards whose utility are obvious do see play. A card does not have to be fancy or interesting to actually be good.

posted a message on New Warrior Minion - Redband Wasp

Actually the card is fine because it can attack straight away so you can either ping off a weak minion and get the attack raise to pressure your opponent and with 3 health it can trade or you can combine this with a whirlwind effect such as Blood razor to get a 2 mana deal 4 damage to a minion.

My complaint is not with the card but with something else I am confused about. Ahem... WHY REMOVE THE ENRAGE KEYWORD IF YOU ARE JUST GOING TO MAKE MORE ENRAGE CARDS!!!!!!! What the actual heck Blizzard?

The enrage keyword cuts down on unnecessary wording. Removing the keyword just adds more text to the cards. Now I would understand this if they were not going to make anymore enrage cards, but if they are still going to print more cards with the enrage mechanic than what was the actual point of removing the keyword?

posted a message on New Neutral Minion - Nightmare Amalgam

This kind of reminds me of the MTG ability called changeling which basically makes the creature every creature type. It may have all the weaknesses of the tribe but it also has their strengths, it benefits from all spells and abilities that are specific about a particular race. And the problem with tribal killing cards such as murloc crab, golakka crawler and dragonslayer is that most tribal killing cards are not good cards by themselves and are mainly just tech cards and not many decks even run a tribal killer. This card is certainly unique.

posted a message on Is Hearthpwn the best forum in the world?

I have been on forums where even the moderators attack people and even swear up a storm. Just look at the cancer that goes on at smogon. Its nothing to do with being soft, its to do with being able to share an opinion on the internet and being civilized about it. You don't need to swear up a storm in order to have a decent discussion. Also this site is very good when it comes to updating news and at least I am sure that the moderators here are not 14 year old kids.

posted a message on New Mage Minion - Black Cat

You know what the problem is when I see card reviews, people keep looking for the cards to be meta defining. I just watched Regiskillbin's review on Youtube and basically he does not seem interested unless the card is OP or meta defining and that is the problem with card reviews.

These cards revealed today such as Black Cat, Gloom Stag, Murkspark Eel and Glitter Moth in their respective even/odd decks are very powerful cards for their cost, and they are balanced by the fact that in order to get their powerful effects they have to be restricted in an odd/even deck. These cards are what I call building blocks, they help make their respective odd/even decks better. If a class is able to make a top tier odd/even deck, these cards are probably going to be in that deck for their respective class. They are not meta defining by themselves, however they will be pretty damn good in an even/odd deck.

We'll just have to see what more support the even/odd decks get. But I am liking what I am seeing so far. Black Cat is basically a mini azure drake in an odd cost deck and that is pretty good, we'll just need to see if the deck works but cards like this will help.

posted a message on Really non-plussed by the expansion reveal

Actually I really like what I see so far. I think the legendaries with the odd cost and even cost restrictions really asks questions of players when it comes to deck building. And I also think Echo and rush two great abilities. Rush is basically charge which does not cause uninteractive gameplay and to be honest much more suited to the game then charge, and echo can be exploited if you have cards that reduce the cost of your cards I.e summoning portal and it will be very interesting to see what you can do with cards that can be repeatedly cast.

I think the cards are interesting. They do not feel stupidly overpowered which to be honest is a good thing. And we have only seen about six cards. Don't be one of those people who say "THIS IS THE WORST EXPANSION EVER!!!!" after just six cards being revealed.

I am very happy with what I have seen so far, the power level so far reminds me of league of explorers and whispers of the old gods which are probably two of hearthstone's best sets. We will have to see how the rest of the set turns out.

posted a message on Unpopular opinion - MsoG was the best expansion, KaC the worst.

The meta was basically Rock paper scissors consisting of Jades, Pirates and reno. Pirates murdered jades, jades murdered reno decks, and pirates insta conceded to reno decks if you manage to survive till turn 6.

I also do remember having lots of fun dying on turn 4 to pirate warriors back when patches had charge, small time buccaneer was a 1/2 and fiery war axe was 2 mana. Good times.

posted a message on New Neutral Minion - Phantom Militia

With summoning portal you can abuse the echo mechanic. I have already seen people dismissing the card, but I would say hold off on that because if their are cards in this expansion that make your cards cost less, echo can be abused. We need to see the rest of the cards. But this is an interesting defensive card.

Also I love how Kripp's review of this card and Regiskillbin review of this card were so different. While kripp noticed the synergy with summoning portal, regiskillbin was like NOPE 2/4 taunt not good enough, won't see play, instant dismissal.

posted a message on Why moving ice block to the hall of fame is a terrible idea.

With Ice Block gone it is probably going to push mage's into the Tempo Burn/Secret archetype and we will probably not see anymore control style mage decks unless they get something from the new expansions coming up.

posted a message on Dark pact is simply ridiculous.

Maybe the cards that make Dark Pact seem broken are actually the problem and not the actual card itself? Am I the only one who thinks that recruit is a bad mechanic because in general being able to cheat out minions without paying their mana cost can be so easily abused as seen in aggro paladin with call of arms, big priest with Barnes and eternal servitude, and also pre nerf corridor creeper? And I have to say I have mostly seen this card used just to kill off possessed lackey's in order to cheat out Voidlords.

The card should cost less than 3 mana since healing touch is 3 mana that heals you for 8 without a drawback and there should be at least a 1 mana discount for having to kill one of your own minions, unless you completely want to make the card worthless and make it cost the the same as healing touch which in my opinion would be really stupid, but whether it should cost 1 or 2 mana is debatable.

posted a message on My Girlfriend's experience in Casual/Early ranks. This is utterly depressing.

Not surprising, the new player experience is awful. Anyone starting out in hearthstone are going to get farmed in casual or pleb ranks by players using tier 1-2 decks. Unless you spend real money in order to get the cards you need, the grind is painful and the quests are absolutely brutal for new players. I know sometimes the response to this problem I have seen on this forum is "Git Gud" but this is a legitimate problem for the game.

Hearthstone is a popular game played by many people around the world. But if the devs choose to ignore how bad the new player experience is, this is something that could end up biting them in the backside in the future.

posted a message on Card Nerf - Corridor Creeper

This is what happens when you scream for a card to be nerfed. Blizzard don't just balance the card, they outright kill it. Why are people surprised?

What I do not get is that with Patches getting nerfed, the card probably would have been fine as a 5/5 maybe with an extra mana cost because patches was the reason why this card was getting mana discounted so quickly, so blizzard could have actually balanced this card a lot better rather than just destroying it.
