doomguard.. youre usually playing it for the win, and the dropped cards don't matter, and sometimes that extra health makes a difference. If you're not already at lethal, youre putting a much harder to deal with minion on the board. Plus you can run 2x. Unless youre running leeroy AND doom.. which seems pretty counter-intuitive.
i do like me some leeroy though.. i just think he fights better with other classes that don't have doom guard as an option
I consider myself a fairly decent arena player. I consistently go 4-8 wins for the most part. I just recently went 12-0 for the first time. Granted I got an insanely lucky draft. I never once had to pick between 3 crap cards, the worst cards in this draft are at least average and workable. The problem with mages, is that all their high value arena cards are common. Cards like Ethereal ConjurerFaceless Summoner and Flamecannon on top of already powerful basic cards like Frostbolt and Flamestrike.
Meanwhile cards like Demented Frostcaller and Ethereal Arcanist are rare. It's like the devs don't take into consideration arena when they assign cards a rarity. I know this is a problem across the board for all classes, just seems like mages get the best of it.
I just don't get why they make INSANE common cards, and such shitty rares and epics. Seems like they should look at the value cards get out of arena, and adjust their rarity down the road.
Anyway, I was excited to finally get 12 wins, but it just frustrates me too, because you only see a handful of classes in arena because there is such a disparity.
Seems to be absolute garbage competitively, but I'll probably still craft him. Mostly just for fun. Could end up being pretty useful in a tavern brawl down the line, like if you were limited to low cost minions only in a deck or something.

Its in the patch notes.. "The guaranteed pack from Arena Runs will now always be from the most recently released expansion. Additionally, you are slightly more likely to receive a second card pack from a different Standard set."
I'm a regular player who is ready for WoG, I saved up 6k dust to create some cards when I miss them.
But, I'm thinking about creating some classic cards aswell, My collection should be viewable, so if anyone would take a moment to help me figure out if it's worth to craft Deathwing for example, I'd like to hear it :).

i wouldnt want them giving it away though. If everybody has a golden C'thun, then it wouldn't be special anymore. It would be neat to have one, but thats a lotta dust. He would have to dominate the meta.
You would be stupid not to DE all the nerfs.. You get full DE value for them, so you could recraft at zero cost, or eventually pick them all back up in packs
