posted a message on Should lackeys be nerfed?
    Quote from TyrantrumRex >>

There are 6 lackeys and 44 dragons in standard... So, the odds of generating Draconic Lackey, and then Dragonqueen Alex is 1 in 264. Then it's dead in your hand if you're not running Highlander until you play out duplicates.

    Lackeys work in combo decks.

This is like saying Mecha'Thun is unfair, because you can be winning by a landslide, and then lose.

That's the point of combo decks. You need to save the right cards, and be lucky in draw, order and survivability to win.

Should the game just be whoever is winning, should always win? Player who hits the opponent first wins?

People have such a hard time understanding the whole aggro < control < combo loop, and that you need all 3 to have a viable meta.

If you didn't have control decks, you you would ONLY see Face Hunter

If you didn't have aggro decks, you would ONLY see Tempo Rogue

If you didn't have combo decks, you would ONLY see Rez Priest.

The meta NEEDS these archetypes, or it simply wouldn't work... Take away Rogue, and the meta will be mirror Ressurect Priest games non-stop.

I don’t know what you are smoking if you think lackeys are primarily for combo decks. They help rogue activate combo cards but I don’t think they are utilized in a one turn kill or mecathun combo.  Maybe for stalling

Variations of warlock including zoo and mecathun have utilized lackeys. Shaman utilizes lackeys for the quest and sometimes they are just good enough to run evil totem in a control / Highlander deck. They’ve been used in a variety of decks

It’s not even the odds of generating a powerhouse like Alex is the problem with Rogue. Every galakrond card for them generates lackeys. They have a 3 mana 1/4 that generates lackeys. If they have double battlecry cards then they get even more. When Galakrond comes down they get a ton of free cards and don’t forget that utilize tog. From that point they hero power almost every turn. Even though the odds are bad it’s for that specific lackey and Dragonqueen, it’s not like what they generate sucks. The rush lackey and 2 damage help support their board or deal with an opponents. Same with the taunt. If they get the spell lackey that’s very strong as well. And we shouldn’t ignore the fact that even if they don’t get dragonqueen, which is probably the jackpot in Highlander rogue, they have a damn good shot at getting another powerhouse dragon.

if you look at the dragon cards currently playable in standard, a majority are extremely powerful to discover. Deathwing Dragonlord, Ysera Unleashed, malygos aspect, twin tyrant, evasive worm, crazed netherwing, aeon reaver, skeletal dragon, etc etc. And then you have to consider dragon cards that generate other dragons like azure explorer. I know what you will say based on the above, if they discover some of those they will need a dragon in hand right? Yeah, but it’s not difficult to have atleast discovered one from dragon lackey at that point or if Highlander they might have Alex in hand. Even if they do find one of those and don’t have a dragon in hand, it’s likely that the options from the discover will be solid too. Really the worst card they could discover is like faerie dragon.

if you don’t believe me boot up the client and search “dragon” in standard cards.

Oh my sweet summer child. You are forgetting something

Why would Blizzard go to the trouble of changing more cards when they can just print new cards to counter it and then charge you for it?

So 1/1 that gives you dragon Queen Alex is ok?

A lot of discover effects that can be busted. But sure as hell playing rogue or warrior i wouldn't pick dragon queen as that only works for highlander decks

You know Highlander rogue is somewhat popular right? I saw while watching grandmasters. Rogue can basically vomit lackeys nonstop once Galakrond is up.

I mean, it’s one thing to have a couple discover cards and get 1-2 amazing cards from it. It’s different when you have a class like rogue who can generate tons of lackeys, and then you have 1 mana discover a dragonqueen. Or 1 mana discover a sap, eviscerate, or another spell.

The dragon lackey was unnecessary. I don’t have issues with any of them but that one and maybe spell lackey. Double battlecries look to be around for a while and that makes dragon lackey absurd. As much as people say the discover mechanic is unhealthy, the dragon lackey is the epitome of that. Spell lackey is almost as bad.

I think Lackeys have overstayed their welcome and wish they would go. No idea what the devs were thinking with dragon lackey. It’s ridiculous value for almost nothing and can be generated so easily. ESPECIALLY in rogue

posted a message on Why are people suddenly so good in bronze?

Because Blizzard made a huge mistake in the ranked system overhaul

Its unfathomable to me that Blizzard allows you to face people that aren’t  around your rank and instead could be legend based on some hidden system. Now you can have bronze players facing legend players. I’m not sure how this is healthy for the game as you might end up with new players or people with fun decks going against high skill level players. For those of us who play our own homebrews or for fun, the game has become significantly more frustrating.

all I see in wild anymore is Tier 1 decks. I thought it was odd because before the change to the ranked system I saw a good variety of decks. I think that the majority of my matchups were meta decks but a good number were fun decks, meme decks, or whatever you want to call it. Now? Nothing but tier 1-2 and maybe 1/10 or 1/15 matches is not

I had a hunch that something was up and decided to try to add every person I played. 3/4 of what I saw (for those that accepted) were legend rank players or passed rank 3 diamond. If casual wasn’t such a cesspool of gold farmers I’d play there. In fact, I think casual is actually WORSE than ranked ladder because it’s all hyper aggressive aggro trying to get their fucking quota. The devs really should remove the ability to earn gold in casual.

This game already had a netdecking problem and blizzard has only exacerbated it with this system.

posted a message on new demon hunter cards revealed

Wow, these cards are fair and balanced. Can’t wait until they cone out.

Of course, Demon Hunter is the most balanced class. None of the cards are still problematic after the nerfs and the class clearly has some weaknesses. Also I like to bury my head in the sand

How can someone play DH then? Tell him to do the required specifications to have DH then he plays it cause that's the most op budget decks cause most of the cards are for free

If I remember correctly he said the game wasnt allowing him to make a deck for the class because of his rank. Idk how hes facing them

make him play demon hunter till hes out of apprentice ranks, once he's out of those ranks he'll be able to get his free class deck, i suggest getting either the priest deck or the rogue deck, since galakrond rogue is good, but res priest is just better

The game does not allow him to play it yet.

I'm not exactly sure how this is possible but almost every other game I spectate with my friend he is facing demon hunter and hes only at beginner rank 35. He got the welcome bundle and I gave him the year of the dragon bundle, but he still does not stand much a chance. He is already considering moving on from the game

I think this thread needs to go.

It’s created a place where any valid feedback with anger behind it goes to die. It does not promote discussion or otherwise broken mechanics and cards and people can send those who try to this place. They might as well be sending them to the realm or darkness

Do you decide what is fun and what is not in this game for everyone?

Like I said. The only reason for finding fun playing that deck is that you find enjoyment in others misery, in which case I´m very worried.

You hit the nail on the head with this. A lot of this community just plays these kind of decks (but mainly face decks in both ladders, res priest and quest mage in wild) because they now get enjoyment out of others misery. Do not let them tell you different.

These people get off on sending you to the salt thread or seeing posts there. That’s why people spam a face deck over and over or whatever flavor of the month. They love the messages they get. All of this comes of course regardless of the impact that it has on the community and game. Make no mistake, these rats have really dragged Hearthstones community down over the years and are pushing people away to Runeterra or Magic.

Keep on laughing and telling people they are salty. Wait til this card game is the least popular and supported and then who’s salty?

posted a message on Legitimate question for everyone complaining about the meta- Were you EVER satisfied previously?

    Quote from Trevolock2 >>

    Actually, yes.

The first couple years this game was out, it was a blast. There were still very strong decks in both aggro and control but it never felt unfair or helpless. If you had a decent draw or played correctly you always had a fighting chance. You could even experiment with new cards or cards you liked but weren’t necessarily popular and not get clobbered over and over by netdecks. You still might not have won as much as those, but it was never so bad that I felt discouraged from trying new cards or having fun.

I cannot speak much on the state of standard.I play mostly wild, and it’s in a terrible state. It’s frustrating when you get new cards from an expansion like Ashes of Outland, and can’t use them because of oppressive decks. On a daily basis I see res priest, quest mage, darkest hour before nerf, cube cancer, and Baku demon hunter. If you aren’t playing a top tier deck you might as well concede turn 1. Even if you tech against those decks with cards like Loatheb, healing, res pool dilutions, it’s still not enough sometimes. And good luck if you tech something in that’s a dead draw against certain classes. Especially minion summoning cards vs aggro. That doesn’t mean your deck is a “meme deck” or that you aren’t playing right.

Most of the time I feel as if Blizzard’s nerfs are like band-aids rather than actual fixes. I wonder if they make these changes just so they can reduce player contempt towards the game. They don’t actually change the card enough (most of the time) to make a significant impact or fix what was wrong with it or why it was problematic in a certain deck. They don’t actually care that’s it’s broken but they patch in these little band-aids to give the illusion that they are listening and responding when they actually aren’t. They do it so people continue to play and spend money. Barnes was absolutely busted, and ludicrous in res priest. After a long time what we got was a 1 mana increase. Too little too late. It’s the same case with open the waygate now. Only two more spells? Not really going to fix the problem.

Its really hard for me to play more than a few games in wild anymore. Like I wrote before, there was a time where I was having a lot of fun with the game and could play for hours despite facing strong meta decks. That was satisfying. Now I just feel helpless and typically log off after 5-6 matches. One of my favorite classes used to be paladin and it’s literally unplayable in wild unless you are doing mech spam cancer. (I don’t) Res priest is one of the main things that ruined the game for me. I play a lot of control and Highlander and that deck is the most defeating matchup. And now, they’ve gutted my Zephrys by ruining sacrificial pact. Pre-nerf it was a sure way to have a good answer to a demon hunter but now facing them is even more tilting than before. Can’t even tell you how many times a mistress has come down and I used zephrys

I feel like the res mechanic as a whole is really destructive to the game. I’m not just talking about in priest either albeit it’s the worst there. With the deathrattle cards, reborns, and demons we have now a Nzoth or Bloodreaver is absolutely broken. What the hell can you do when your opponent fills the board with these minions and even if cleared they resummon, heal the opponent, and destroy any board you have? It wouldn’t be as bad if the opponent could only do it once or twice but now we have rogues running around with shadowstep and gang up for nzoth. Warlocks getting multiple bloodreavers / summoning 5 Doomguards, and priest repeatedly using one card and getting a vargoth to fill the board over and over. If a priest gets vargoth in the pool they can pretty much fill their entire board without ever using a mass res card. There’s shit like Catarina or Yshaaraj. Yeah you can run minion summoning cards or transforms but I’ve found a lot of the time it still isint enough

You have completely missed the point of Wild. It is to have the strongest of the strongest cards and for people to be able to create extremely strong deck. And every time a new expansion comes out, it will get stronger.

If you want to play a balanced meta you should play standard, not wild

I think you are just a dumbass who’s caught in the allure of wanting the best deck. The deck was never designed to be for the best possible deck it was designed so people could play all of the cards regardless of what set or year it was from. People making the best deck is just a product of that.
