I absolutely love this card. It fits the Old Gods theme perfectly, a great old one is summoned and all hell breaks loose. It is not supposed to be competitive, just fun.
I ground out my gold Pally way back in Season 2. There was NO LOVE from Blizz for Pally in those days, it was considered the worst class. It is funny to see all the Pally is OP rage now.
Compared to the usual well oiled hype train everything about this release has been pretty sloppy. Kind of surprising to see Blizz drop the ball this way.
Much more excited about seeing Naxx and GvG go away than I am about the expansion. New cards are interesting and looking forward to a shift in this terrible clusterf*ck of a meta.
I'm not very interested in the current season so I guess I've lost interest...but for exactly the opposite reason of the OP.
I'm really looking forward to the changes and when I play against decks stuffed full of Booms and Belchers and Shredders and Scientists etc it just annoys me, like please go away already! Looking forward to the new meta....for me meta changes are what keep the game interesting.
I think this is a terrific decision. As a longtime player the one thing I hate the most is a stale meta and expansions padded with tons of "harmless" cards. This has the potential to help in that regard.
Going with dual formats means that ALL cards stay in the game in Wild, and frees up the Standard meta from having to carry the baggage of every card that was ever created. To me this is WIN WIN. (And more card slots finally...also).

Of all the Old Gods cards this is the most interesting. A powerful Old God rises from the deep and all hell breaks lose. Perfect.
I think this is funny...YMMV.

As cool as the cardback is....giving me six more weeks to hoard gold before release just guaranteed that I wont be preordering.

What part of "Wild format includes the entire card pool" are people missing?
A new mode called Standard has been added. You can rank in Standard or Wild. You can casual in Standard or Wild.
The ability to buy old card sets goes away but they can still be crafted.
The salt about deleted cards (that aren't being deleted at all) is pretty strange.

Casual has been swarming with Facehunter bots all weekend.
Anyone else seeing them? I haven't seen it this bad in a long time. Blizz need to smack down a post holiday ban hammer!
