posted a message on Weekly Card Design Competition #4.03 [DISCUSSION]

Curious for thoughts.  I like the effect but I'm struggling with the appropriate stats and cost.  I agree with others who have said that any card that is meant to be played at the same time as Y'Shaarj is going to be difficult since Y'Shaarj costs 10.  You can't combo it with anything else on the same turn.  I also agree that a cultist that just reduces Y'Shaarj's cost could be boring.  So I'm hoping this card reduces the cost in a bit more interesting of a manner.

If your opponent kills it right away, this is just an expensive 2/3 that does nothing.  (And killing a 3 health creature on turn 4 should not be hard).  But if you can protect it then this card will get very powerful very quickly.  My biggest concern is a Druid innervating/coining this out on turn 1 but I felt that making it 5 or more mana would just be too much of a penalty since its so easy to kill.  Raising the mana cost would require a bit more health to be viable and I'm not sure I want to do that.

For people who care about lore, this also fits in nicely.  Even though Y'Shaarj does not appear in-game, we are told that Y'Shaarj had seven heads and it was the dying breath from each of those heads that created the Sha.  So I'd love to find some way to play with the multi-headed nature of this old god.

Lots of combo potential with cards applying buffs to neighboring cards, like Dire Wolf Alpha.  Also can be used defensively to avoid spells like Cone of Cold.

For non-WoW players, the Deeprun Tram is an underground transportation system between Stormwind and Ironforge.

posted a message on Will Deck-Building Tavern Brawls Be Standard Or Wild?

Apologies if this has been asked before but I wasn't able to find an answer online.  I don't expect to play much in the wild format since I am concerned its going to turn into a fairly unbalanced mess but I do like playing at least a few rounds of tavern brawl each week.  If my Naxx and GVG cards are going to still be useable in Tavern Brawl then I think I will hold onto them.  If not, I'm sitting on a lot of potential dust.  Has there been any word from Blizzard whether non-standard cards will continue to be allowed in Brawls?  Thanks.
