posted a message on Is Divine Favor broken? nerf?

It certainly feels like it's too good sometimes. I was playing Control Warrior all last season and pretty much every time it was cast against me it drew 3-6 cards and felt like the world's biggest beating. I've been playing Paladin this season though, since it's actually pretty good and if I ever want to actually beat Paladins I should probably understand how they work. My experience has been that sometimes you draw a million and feel like a champion, and other times you spend three mana to draw a card, which feels significantly worse. It's prooooobably not broken, but the swing in how good it is makes it feel like it is half the time.

@Blue banana, "yes it does". No.. just no, dude (wrong on so many levels)

Right, so this thread is turning into spamming bold statements without any sort of reason, proof or backup behind it.

I'm not gonna debate stupidity anymore, but for those who might read and are still interested or actually experiencing some sort of same gameplay, I have leveled 3 friend's accounts to rank 10 for their chest and as an experiment for this.
    #1 (highest rank 11) - from 16 to 10 with 1 loss. 0 legend card backs seen
#2 (highest rank 9) - from 13 to 10 with no loss. 0 legend card backs seen
    #3 (highest rank 11) - from 14 to 10 with 2 losses. 0 legend cards backs seen

On my personal account I definitely got over 15+ losses till rank 10 and was paired, as stated before, with basicaly only players with the legend card back, aka players who achieved legend rank.

Ignore these facts if you like. Call it a small size pool, call it chance. I think there's bound to be something like a personal MMR bound to this, matching u with players with let's say a total winrate, or season's winrate in combination with current rank or average rank achieved over all seasons.

I'd still be delighted to see someone sharing sincere information about this, instead of just saying 'no', cause it's kinda fun and interesting  to know :)

I'd be curious to know one way or the other too, though I have to say that it's hard to find evidence that's useful for a conversation like this. Pretty much anything any of us could supply (like your ranking of friends' accounts) is pretty much useless since there are a wide variety of factors that come into play, probably the biggest one being that not everyone that has the Legend card back uses it.

My situation sounds similar to yours in that I've been legend before but I don't do it every season. I've laddered to rank 5 this season and while I'll admit to not paying as close attention as I could I do usually notice Legend card backs and in the 70ish games I've played since the season began I can remember seeing around 5. Maybe it's been more, but who knows. Mostly I just see that pink monstrosity from last season.

Well there are always more people getting to legend, but also there's that little thing where every season resets so the legend players also have to grind back up the ranks. It's not like they get to just hop back in because they got to legend.

There is no correct answer to this because the answer varies from deck to deck. Shielded Minibot, Knife Juggler, Wild Pyromancer, Dalaran Aspirant, Mad Scientist, Armorsmith, Sunfury Protector, Ancient Watcher....All of these are among the 'best' 2 drops because of the roles they fulfill in their respective decks. For instance, you can argue Mad Scientist is the best 2 drop but that's obviously not true for a druid deck. You could argue that Dalaran Aspirant is the best but you certainly don't want to see one pop out of your Piloted Shredder...The answer is dependent on your deck and current situation.

LOL, you said two times "Dalaran Aspirant" instead of Darnassus Aspirant. LMAO.

To be fair Dalaran Aspirant would  probably be one of the best 2-drops in the game if it were actually, you know, a 2-drop XD.

LOL, poor Dalaran Aspirant :P. But, I think that even when it is far from being one of the best 4 drops in the game, I think that this guy have a lot of potential, and maybe, just maybe, in a very far future, it could see play in a good spell damage based mage deck? I don't really know, but it's sounds/quotes are totally awesome :)

I think I actually saw someone playing it in a Mage deck with all the flashy spells. They managed to turn an Arcane Missiles into and Avenging Wrath which was pretty cool haha. I mean they could have just played Malygos but where's the fun in that?

posted a message on Which deck counters secret Paladin at best?

Druid has been doing really well for me against them even if they curve out. All you really need is a swipe and an innervate into anything up curve. I know that's asking for a lot but you did ask for how to beat their perfect draw so I figured it was only fair to assume I got mine. I've been having success with Warrior as well, provided I get a weapon and a minion I can play in the early turns. Tempo Mage seems to have a pretty good counter curve as well.

    That's my experience though.

    I'd say Shielded Minibot.

In my opinion it should get nerfed to a 2/1 with Divine shield. Scarlet Crusader is a 3 mana 3/1 with Divine Shield and Silvermoon Guardian is a 4 mana 3/3 with Divine Shield. But if I play two Shielded Minibots instead of a Silvermoon Guardian I'm essentially getting 1/1 extra.  Something doesn't add up there.

Not to rehash an old argument, but the minibot is a class card and those do tend to be better than their neutral counterparts.

I forgot Haunted Creeper which would have to be up there as well. An argument could be made for Mechwarper as well, since it's one of the few 2-drops to be the backbone of an entire archetype of decks.

posted a message on Control Warrior is Broken. Here's Why.
    Quote from Mindtime >>

I strongly believe that the primrary reason for handlock being concidered favoured against Controll Warrior is due to life tap.

The Handlock player can just naturally cycle for cards that enables a consistent strategy and for whatever calls for. Where as the Controll Warrior often enough ends up having to topdeck answers and plays, not being allowed to have as consistent gameplay as the warlock.

I mean, I don't disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure Life Tap is the reason handlock is favored against anything. Otherwise the deck sort of sucks. Actually, I feel like Life Tap is the reason any variety of Warlock is favored against anything.

Nexus-Champion Saraad because as it turns out there are very few spells in the game that are bad when you don't actually have to put them in your deck. And there's just something super fun about it.
