posted a message on Justicar Trueheart nerf is needed

I don't think I'll ever understand these threads. Every so often I'll see a post about how Justicar is broken for Warrior, and I have yet to see any even remotely convincing arguments for why that's the case. They all come down to variations of "It's really unfair how warriors can now stack up 50 armor for only 26 mana over 13 turns. Such bogus."

I get the impression that none of the people that complain about it have actually played a warrior with Justicar. A pretty easy way to die when you're being pressured is to spend 6 mana doing nothing. I've died so many times with that card in hand or over the two turns after I play it that I sometimes wonder if it's even worth it.

posted a message on Will league of Explorers Influence Ranked play?
    Quote from RougeSandwich >>

Play style is notoriously linear where most decks play on curve, or have very obvious and limited lines of play. Many articles have been written about the issue.

So in that case I'm assuming you meant to say it's very hard to make an unintentional wrong move. Playing poorly on purpose is quite simple. I see by your edit that you've addressed this issue, but I'd been assuming it wasn't a typo.

Very hard to make an intentional wrong move? I don't even know what you mean by that.

It was explicitly stated that they wanted to avoid restricting design space by having a minion that grants charge, so this change would have fixed very little. Besides, it's not like giving the Patrons charge was the biggest issue anyway.

posted a message on Freeze Mage vs Secret Paladin vs Dragon Priest in the current meta

Secret Paladin is probably the best option because it plays the fastest games of the three decks you listed, though both Dragon Priest and Freeze Mage do counter the deck pretty effectively. If control warriors are something you see a lot of though it's not going to be worth your time to play Freeze Mage, since the game will be long and you'll lose anyway. The Meta is becoming more hostile to Secret Paladin but it is still probably the most effective deck to climb with, as you'll just be able to play more games.

posted a message on How can Hearthstone be considered an e-Sport with so much RNG?

I'm not sure what definition people want to use for what's required to be an e-sport, but I'm pretty sure "Loads of people watch it, play it, and pump money into it," is probably going to be in there somewhere. Regardless of any bemoaning of random effects people may do there are still tens of thousands of people watching because it's entertaining. This may be a novel concept.

posted a message on Meta and ranks

I didn't start paying attention until I hit rank 6 this month. From rank 6-3 I saw about 30% Paladins, with the rest being pretty evenly split between variations of Mage, Druid, and Warrior with a smattering of Priest. Rank 2-Legend I didn't actually see any Secret Paladins. It was almost entirely Druids and Mages with Priests making a resurgence. I've been in Legend for about a week, hovering around rank 200 and seeing pretty much everything besides Rogues.

posted a message on Odds for getting a legendary? 1 in 40 packs?
    Quote from Fedorio >>

I just counted my epics. 11 epics in 40 packs

    does that sound about right?

That's a bit above the curve, since usually Epics show up in about 1 out of 5 packs.

It should even out to about half that, but it is random so it takes a lot of packs to hit the average.

posted a message on What's wrong with my deck?

There are probably a lot more spells than you need, meaning you're going to be sitting on your thumbs with a lot of hands when it looks like what you want to be doing is curving out. A lot of the low cost minions don't work all that well in the deck and want you to have a more unified curve. See if you can identify which cards have felt like they aren't pulling their weight and go from there.

Handlock probably since I love ridiculous fat monsters and drawing cards.

    Quote from MrBurned >>

I don't think the matchmaking system takes decks into account. It supposedly only cares about WR so you probably got matched against people who are new (bad) at the game but have spent money to buy those cards. No?

Thankfully, Handlock is quite hard to master so beating inexperienced Handlock players is easy (coin into mountain giant anyone? :P).

I feel like Coin-Mountain Giant is a rite of passage for the aspiring Handlock player XD. Just like everyone learning Oil Rogue should at some point go Prep-Coin-try-to-cast-Sprint-and-cry.

posted a message on How to counter secret paladin?

Tempo Mage is pretty good against them because Mana Wyrm and Flamewaker are really good against them and if they don't have board control the deck isn't that good. Playing a single Polymorph is really useful too, against the midrange variants.

Druid is pretty strong too. The traditional Midrange Druid is not great against it, but aggro, token, and ramp varieties can be pretty good. Rogue is great against them since the tempo plays are super good against them, but you'll probably lose to every other deck so maybe not that one.
