thecrazyguy18 posted a message on New Mage Card Reveal: Leyline ManipulatorPosted in: NewsYou can cut the quest from Exodia mage with this. Just create two copies of sorcerer’s apprentice with simulacrum, drop this card to make them cost 0. Then you can just play archmage, 3 apprentice and a molten reflection in one turn without the quest. Will let the deck cut all the bad cards like cabalist tome for more cycle and survival tools

Hannya posted a message on Hunter needs a board clear or efficient removalPosted in: General DiscussionThey got two this expansion, DK and Exploding Bloatbat. With play dead it is a 5 mana 2 damage board clear With potential for 4 dmg when the minion dies
Requiring two cards is the biggest downfall of the clear. It's the same reason as to why Excavating Evil was so much more viable than Auchenai Soulpriest and Circle of Healing. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

For fuck's sake, Blizzard. At least make the damn thing cost 5 so there's SOME reason it's better than just putting 2 animal companions in the deck.

People hate anything they see too often. Not because of the deck itself, but because having to play against the same type of deck over and over and over again, seeing the same cards again, means the game gets redundant to all but the most invested. It doesn't help that the small size of 30-card decks, and the "essential" class cards in each deck, make things feel more redundant. It just gets boring, which means there's nothing to distract you from how half the time you play the game you aren't actually doing anything.
Furthermore, this variety of Priest boasts long, involved turns from the priest player, which are frequently counter by brief turns from the opponent. So there's a gametime percentage inequality inherent to it. You opponent is literally playing the game more than you (which is a problem with miracle decks in general). And that sucks.

Thoughtsteal / Devour Mind / Mind Vision + Radiant Elemental. Game over.
You don't even need to imagine it. It'll probably in a Trolden video day 1.

To be clear: This SHOULD reduce the cost of minions generated by Simulacrum. Since they didn't start in your deck.
4
So then this would have to produce 3 1-drops, since keleseth would be the only 2-cost card in your deck.

Why do you all immediately slot this into the warlock quest? Do you not see the part where it says "Destroy all minions"? It's a board wipe for 4. If you want to quest with it, you CAN. But let's focus a bit more on how it's a BOARD WIPE FOR 4. So on later turns you can wipe, dump your hand of dead cards, and still tap.

Now Quest Mage can attain the coveted 3 turns in a row they've always wanted.

A great legendary for shaman, possibly to make up for the travesty that was Moorabi in the last set. Fits into Evolve shaman as a way to gain battlecry value from evolved minions, Elemental shaman, and even Battlecry Shaman in Wild. Well stated for its cost, and great tempo if played after turn 6. Can even be used by the savvy to dodge a slow board clear.

So here's the main problem: What is this card doing for you if, y'know, you've ALREADY drawn your 8-drops? What happens if you play this card, and then - Whoops! You drew the 8-drop.
The answer is nothing. It becomes a dead card. A 7-cost 3/3 that sits in your hand for the rest of the game.

There's highroll potential, of course. You could copy the deathrattle of the new Hunter legendary, or a bone drake, or another niche legendary you put in for highroll purposes. It supports the hunter Deathrattle archetype.
But there's a couple problems here. First of all, it's a 5/4 for six, and a slow card. Hunters that run into the later game usually have trouble coming back from behind in boardstate, so usually we're looking for 'faster' cards in the late turns that either force a trade from the opponent (Savannah Highmane, which almost never gets left alone) or affect the board somehow by dealing damage, setting up taunt, etc.
Secondly, the card doesn't inherently have deathrattle. So it's not affected by cards like Corpse Widow, and it won't be brought back by N'zoth. Which are kind of problematic if you have N'zoth in your hand, and the only chunky deathrattles you've drawn are this guy.
