Sounds like you're letting them succeed, too.
As is repeatedly the case, here - there is literally nothing wrong with roping for any reason whatsoever, whether it's trying to to figure out your next turn, how to deal with what's on the board or simply trying to annoy your opponent into conceding. These are all legitimate and valid reasons to take your whole allotted turn. You might as well get upset with people for playing cards you don't like or playing an aggro or combo deck etc.
The problem here isn't with them... -

Itangast posted a message on New Set but I just Don't Care Anymore...Posted in: General Discussionman, I feel the same... playing since BETA and now i think the moment is arrived also for me.
I watched the entire new mini set and i didnt have any excitement..and the same thing happened the last expansion. Often I find the custom cards/set/class created by some random player more interesting than what blizzard gives us.
Same mechanic, nothing new...
Concerning the ladder, it is very boring and full of aggro.
Wild infested with resurrecting Priest and secret mage.
The fun isn't here anymore for me, so i ll follow you. Hope to come back to the game in the next future.
Bye guys, have fun. -

muflon posted a message on New Set but I just Don't Care Anymore...Posted in: General DiscussionWell written, I'm feeling the same but I'll try to make myself play only twice a week (I'll uninstall mobile app, and play only on PC)
I have a great account too and I'm thinking if I play once or twice a week I'll still be getting most of the cards (by solving 9 quests a week) and having fun when rotations hit, but as you said it's always samey - almost every new expansion feels less fun than the last and it's just about time to stop playing all together.
I also spent some money on the game but I don't regret it, its been a great game, I'm just exhausted of it.
I really want to see what are the changes in classic set this year and it's still fun when meta changes so I'll stick around for that. But after that it's a whole year until next true rotation so who knows maybe I'll disappear completely throughout this year too...

Wow I needed that. It was like you were holding up a mirror showing the very depths of my soul! But yeah, I kinda get you in a way. Last night I was sitting and opening my packs and I caught myself thinking that this is how people are when they're playing slot machines: in a hurry to get the next win / legendary, anxious and pretty oblivious to the rest of the world. I still enjoy opening packs and I've only ever had one truly miserable opening which is quite lucky. I feel for some of the players who only pulled like 2 legendaries from the mega bundle.
Blizzard may be milking me but it's fine. I enjoy the game and I have money to spend on it so it's a fair trade imo. If I didn't feel that way I wouldn't spend anymore money on the game. That's the thing that most people like you, OP, don't get. Everyone if free to choose if and how they want to play this game. Some are happy not spending a dime and grinding every day and others like me are happy to just buy the packs to have everything they need so they can enjoy the game when they get to play it. Nobody is forcing me or anyone else to buy packs. I am happy to spend money on HS because I love the game. Yes, it's expensive but it's worth it, imo. You and others may not agree and that's fine - again, you are free to spend as much or as little on the game as you want.

Most of my time last night was spent playing Control Warlock with Y'Shaarj, Cascading Disaster and Tickatus. I have mixed feelings about it but I doubt I was playing anything close to an optimal build. The good part was that I absolutely stomped every single Paladin I faced so that's something at least.
First, Corrupt is SLOW, maybe even slower than I initially thought. It's sometimes tricky to Corrupt Cascading Disaster especially while trying not to fall too far behind in the early / mid game. Same thing with Strongman, I often just played him at 7 mana just to get something on the board and Corrupt some other cards in my hand.
My night started with two Clowns in the deck but I cut it down to one because it's basically impossible to Corrupt. And if you don't Corrupt it you don't get it back with Y'Shaarj. I tried Yogg for a few games and actually won a game with Rod of Roasting but my deck only had 10 spells in total so it wasn't the right choice. Then I tried Scrapyard Colossus which was meh. Played around with N'Zoth as well but it was tricky to get more than 3 minion types in the deck (Dragon, Demon, Amalgam).
Maybe C'Thun could work but I don't think so. Y'Shaarj seemed to be a win more card a lot of the time. I'm sure there's a more optimal build out there with a better focus on getting the most from Tickatus.
It's good that none of the Old Gods seem too OP on the first day. I'm sure there are ways to make them work but I think overall C'Thun is probably the weakest.

Plus Silias and the free legendary everyone got when the new rewards track launched.

I'm pretty undecided about whether I should buy the Tavern Pass or not. I've already bought both pre-orders and will probably buy another bundle when MDF launches and I'm not sure if the Tavern Pass is actually worth it. I quite like the skins and it would be nice to get better rewards but maybe my money would be better spent on packs instead?
Would be interesting to hear everyone's thoughts on this. Have you bought it? Do you want to buy it? I imagine the longer I wait to buy it the less value it will give so if I'm gonna do it I will probably do it before the end of the week.

Look, I'm always excited for a new set so my minimum score for this question at any time would be a 7. This time it's a 7 for me. The new set looks OK, not as amazing as Scholomance or Outlands but OK. The last expansion of the year is usually the least impactful ito changing the meta. Normally the meta is pretty settled now and the new set typically just adds to the strongest decks instead of introducing brand new archetypes. Anyway, that said I'm really looking forward to opening my packs tomorrow night. My last few openings have been pretty disappointing so I'm hoping for better luck this time!

OP, sorry to hear you're going through a tough time. Hopefully things will improve and you can start playing the game again. You clearly enjoy HS which is great - it seems that people who actually like the game are a small minority on this dumb ass forum full of whiners.
Hearthstone is crazy expensive. If my financial situation changed for the worse I would also stop playing immediately. There are way more important things in life to focus on especially when times are tough. I have very limited time to play so I make sure I have as many of the cards I need to play any deck I like so I can enjoy the game when I do get to play it. If I weren't able to play this way I wouldn't play at all. Grinding hours a day just to build one deck and carefully craft the legendary or epics I need has zero appeal to me. That's what playing MtG was like for me as a teen - I never had the money to keep up so I was always playing some makeshift crappy deck and trading my way to get the cards I wanted only to be flattened when a new set came out and I'd have to find a new deck to play. Basically starting all over again.
So yeah man, I get you. Hope things improve for you soon.

In general OP is correct although it's surprising that a forum mod would post something with such an antagonistic tone. There is a misconception that Hearthstone is free to play. It is but only in a small way. The only way anyone can realistically keep up with the meta without spending money is to play a lot and to be very careful with their crafting and de'ing. Otherwise it just isn't feasible.
To me Hearthstone is a free to try game. There's a big difference between free to try and free to play. When I first started playing HS I never thought I would actually spend money on the game. But after a few months of playing and enjoying it I decided to start buying packs. Maybe a decision I'll regret in a few years but I'm having fun right now!
HS Is not a cheap game. Keeping up with the new sets requires a considerable investment several times a year. Right now I'm OK with that because I enjoy the game. But it is very close to becoming too expensive to justify.
As difficult as being f2p must be, at least you can still enjoy the game to some extent without spending money on it. That's something at least. You may not be able to play every deck you'd like to and sometimes you may not have every legendary or epic you need to make a top tier deck but you can get by just fine. There are many games out there that you have to buy first in order to play but HS isn't one of them. Blizzard has been generous with free stuff like packs when a new set launches, 5 free legendries with Galakrond, Silias, Sn1p-Sn4p etc. They don't have to do that.
If you don't or can't spend money on the game and don't have the time to grind everyday that's fine. Just know that the rewards will be limited and you may not be able to fully enjoy the game like those who do spend money on it. That's OK imo.

Doesn’t Animal Companion summon a random Huffer?

As a fan of fizzy beverages I sincerely hope this card is actually called Fizzy Elemental.

Over the last few months I've been absolutely steamrolled by Totem Shaman a couple of times. It's usually a free win for me but when you don't have answers to their early game things get out of hand pretty quickly. I don't know if this card is enough to give the deck the consistency it Eys'orly lacks (see what I did there??) but man this is a solid card. Pitty it's for such a fringe deck.
