posted a message on Report your post-nerf standard experience!

I think Spell Mage without Deck of Lunacy and with C'thun is pretty strong.

Paladin seems to be hit hard enough. The Sword nerf hurts, but losing Pen Flinger is a BIG deal.

Rogue? Funny to see how nerfing neutral cards ends up hurting Rogue so much, despite all the broken class cards it has. That said, Weapon Rogue is probably a very strong deck.

Since Spell Mage is very good against Warlock and most other slower decks, Face Hunter, Weapon Rogue, and other aggro decks will try to farm Mage ... So I'd say that's the initial metagame for now.

Wow, people hating on Blizzard cause they decide to do the logically right thing and offer a refund for Kargal ...

Well, to everyone else who is glad to hear this news, cheers, we did it! :)

posted a message on I think "Oh My Yogg!" should be changed

Oh My Yogg actually makes Paladin secrets interesting.

    Is it too strong? Probably.

Is it too much RNG? Sometimes, yes. Especially at 0 mana destroying your own minion (courtesy of a useless 0 mana Warlock Core set spell).

Should it be nerfed? I don't think it should. It's not oppressive (without support), although it's close.

And regarding the competitive scene, I actually think this card made the games a lot more exciting. Yes, it's almost unfair how secrets force opponents to play really well (it's always been that way), and sometimes playing around them makes you lose your mind, but it's just too much fun watching people play competitive games while trying to navigate extremely difficult turns, and then have to deal with the small RNG bump of Oh My Yogg that can sometimes be not that small at all. It's madness ... At the Darkmoon Faire, haha.

What a perfect little card :D

posted a message on New "Crossroads"-Bundle

I'm really happy for all the people opening a bunch of legends (goldens, even) in 20 packs :)

All in all, it seems like a great deal if one is willing to invest in Hearthstone. I used to spend a lot of many years ago, but now I'm trying to stay free to play. Otherwise, it becomes difficult to draw the line; a bundle here, a battle pass there, and what are we left with in the end? Just dust, baby ...

Still, I think they are improving their offerings, so one day there might be a bundle I'll buy again. Until then, I'll vicariously enjoy other people's fortunes :D

posted a message on Illidari Inquisitor

There is a bunch of 7-9 mana cards that are completely above the curve and should be busted. Yet most of them see no play whatsoever. Blizzard realized that in order for midrange cards have a chance to be played, they need to be REALLY strong. And even then, they are generally just too expensive to matter.

Yes, Illidari Inquisitor is a stupidly powerful card. It's also a very lame design for a class that can naturally attack with its 1-mana hero power. Yet it has zero impact on the metagame and most likely will have no impact in the future.

All things considered, it seems like a "fair" option for Demon Hunter to close games against decks that want to live forever (most decks will either win or lose long before that, or just heal out of this poor guy's reach).

If for whatever reason Blizzard decided to delete this card, I wouldn't mind at all. It's an eyesore as a Core set card, but not the only one.

posted a message on I really want caravans to work but...

I remember when the (Warlock) caravan was revealed on stream, and it was immediately obvious they were underpowered to the point of being unplayable. Yet the Blizzard employee had to talk them up. It was really funny. And sad.

I'd really like to know the thought process behind certain decisions. They decided to push the Watch Towers to the point they had to nerf them so early and cause a lot of discomfort to the community (I really don't think they want an environment where people are too afraid to craft anything). Yet, the caravans are so blatantly weak it's almost laughable. Whoever thought any of these would see play? And to think there's an achievement that wants you to start your turn with a caravan 10.000 times (I know, I'm exaggerating, it's only around 300). And you have to do that in ranked. Really funny stuff. And sad.

Buff caravans? Does it even make sense? Yes, they should have at least 4 health, or do something for both players, or actually be decent in any conceivable way ... They almost don't make super weak cards anymore, and yet here they managed to make a whole super thematic cycle be the weakest bunch of cards in... Ever? Trying to think about weaker cards and I can only think of the Rager family :D

posted a message on Petition to Blizzard to give Full Dust Refund for Kargal Battlescar

I'm amazed at how many people think they shouldn't offer a refund.

The card was obviously indirectly nerfed, so a refund should definitely be considered.

I believe this is the first case of a card indirectly nerfed in such a way. Yes, there are cases such as Saronite Chain Gang and Shudderwock, but the connection between those two cards was less direct. Kargal is 100% dependent on the Watch Posts.

Personally, I think it would be fair they offered a refund.

Furthermore, the argument they shouldn't offer a refund because it was stupid to craft the card in the first place is extremely bad for the game - not only it further promotes Tier 1 netdecking, which is already plaguing the game from day 1, it also punishes people for crafting the cards they like. And it's not the same as crafting a card that turns out to be bad, here the card was quite literally (indirectly) nerfed.

I believe Blizzard will end up doing the right thing and offer a refund, but let's wait and see.

posted a message on Is devolving missiles a problem for anyone else?

Yes, I find Devolving Missiles to be a "problem".

At the same time, they are a really weird card to evaluate. Similar to Devolve, they might backfire and sometimes they are straight useless. Of course, this holds true for all removal cards, but Devolving Missiles can be dangerous to use against a wide variety of boards.

On the other hand, when they are good, they feel way too good (just like Devolve did). There are so many things Devolving Missiles can dismantle for one mana that it's simply ridiculous. They can also shut down expensive deathrattle minions, which also often feels unfair (for 1 mana). They completely wreck corrupted Strongmen. They counter buffs. The list goes on and on ...

The only reason this card is 1 mana is that it's a dual-class card and it's supposed to be a variation of Arcane Missiles. At 1 mana, it's way too easy to set it up or clear after it, so a mana increase would definitely make sense.

And speaking of "problematic" removal cards, another card I find equally disturbing (although it's already been nerfed and sits at 3 mana) is Hysteria. This card seems way too good at what it does. Yes, there are boards it can't answer, but there are so many boards where you simply play Hysteria and watch a 20-mana board vanish into dust.

posted a message on Nerfs Announced

Kargal is crying in a corner ... It would be fair to offer a refund for him as well since he's hit quite directly by the nerfs.

I really dislike the Watch Post nerfs ... Yes, these cards have been really good, but they're a new type of card (sort of) and make Hearthstone feel a little less linear. I liked them a lot. I really hoped Blizzard wouldn't nerf them, but here we are ... :(

Personally, I would bump Deck of Lunacy to 5 mana, just to be on the safe side. It feels like a 5 mana card, too.

I also have mixed about Sword of the Fallen. But I guess I had mixed feeling about Ancharr as well, and it turned out to be a good nerf, so I suppose it's only fair ... But somehow I feel that early secrets while oppressive were kinda fun and that the true frustration of playing against Paladin lies elsewhere (looking at you, Librams ...).

posted a message on Why is Rogue so Hated?

I have a weird feeling about Stealth Rogue.

Usually, when the opponents play a deck, it seems super OP, and then I try it, and it seems mortal.

With Stealth Rogue it's the other way around. When I play against it, it feels kinda week and easily stuffable. When I play with it, it seems nearly unstoppable. I did only play some 20 games with it, but I had a 10+ win streak to legend with it, losing only a few games beforehand.

It is quite a busted deck, but aren't all decks busted these days? I brew a Control Priest deck to try and complete the 'pay life' achievement before rotation, and it made me realize how busted all (other) decks are.

And regarding hate, there's nothing one can do about it. People feel entitled to win and hate pretty much everything that stands in their way. It's a shame, but that's the way it's always been. Maybe we should all learn to meditate more :D

posted a message on Golden cards

Blizzard just announced the new reward track, and one of the big changes is that now we will be getting uncraftable (and consequently non-disenchantable) golden cards as rewards.

Personally, I like all my cards to be non-golden. I find having golden cards I can't disenchant in my collection to be counterproductive.

On the same note, I really dislike the fact that when you copy a deck code into Hearthstone, it automatically uses golden cards if available. It takes additional time for me to swap goldens into non-goldens.

I also don't like the fact you cannot use non-golden heroes once you reach level 500.

Not a big deal, but it would be really nice if there was an option to turn off ALL golden cards, portraits, and whatnot ...

    Pretty please, Blizzard :)
