Dunscot posted a message on Witchwood Reveal Season Kicks Off! Newly Revealed Cards Within!Posted in: NewsI really hate the design of Hagatha and Witch's Apprentice, just as I wholeheartedly loathe Babbling Book and Swashburglar and all these other high variance diceroll cards, where you get 1 out of 20+ possible outcomes, and if it's the right one, you win on the spot.
Truth be told, Shaman spells are generally worse than Mage or even Priest spells, and some of the better ones are just about to rotate out, but this is the laziest design they could have come up with. It's just random. There is nothing in terms of "class identity" when it's exactly the same mechanic with a different card pool. It might be fun to play with, but it's not fun at all to play against, best example was the legendary World Championship won by Paveling Book.
The other cards are... ok. I am a bit concerned about Rebuke helping all sorts of Aggro Paladin a bit too much, but it's a nice variation of Loatheb.

Davaretta posted a message on New Priest Legendary - Lady in WhitePosted in: Card DiscussionQuote from The_Hammer_Head >>Quote from cluelesspug >>The amount of "meta-defining" here is astonishing. So let's think up a Standard deck (I assume most players here vote based on the Standard meta) that is good with Lady in White. I'll start by listing the good cards that are also good with Lady in White (no Lightwell, Mogu'shan Warden, Ultrasaur, Lorewalker Cho, or other bad cards/memes):
Tar Creeper, Primordial Drake, Obsidian Statue, Ysera, Malygos, Tortollan Shellraiser, Stonehill Defender, and Northshire Cleric. That's all I can think of right now.
The reason I don't include cards like Stormwind Knight is because he's ONLY good after you play Lady in White. This makes your deck bad and inconsistent.
After I narrow it down, I don't understand at all how you can form a deck where it is worth it to play Lady in White. I just don't think you can justify running enough minions that she likes buffing to make a good deck. It's a fun and well-designed card, but I argue that it's bad. Very comparable to Mistcaller.
Why -wouldn't- you include the 'bad' cards? You seem to be thinking 'what cards does this support' instead of 'what supports this card'.Looking through this thread, everyone keeps saying/thinking "Mistcaller" when instead they should be thinking "quest rogue", except instead of the juggling condition, the condition is "draw this card and survive by turn 7" (which wouldn't be hard given the type of cards you would include in this deck), after which the priest will be able to have a situation the opponent can't play around.Exactly right. Thank you. People who think this isn't going to make a huge dent in the meta are kidding themselves. The fact you could stick this in any already viable priest decks with no down side other than running a single copy of another card to make room will make this an insta-include. The Mistcaller wasn't even close, Prince Keleseth, while strong enough to make tier 1, also required a whole decklist modified to suit his inclusion. If Lady in White is left untouched, Priest will be hard to beat in the year of the raven.Yup my thoughts exactly. The key here is that it is a non-conditional card, and Priest is a very different class from Shaman. You don't have to craft a deck around this, just reserve one slot and you're good. Many Priest class cards benefit from this. -

Davaretta posted a message on New Neutral Minion- Witchwood GrizzlyPosted in: Card DiscussionI see synergy with Lady in White.
This will probably stay at 12 attack, right? Because the health loss comes after the battlecry.

Not sure why everyone is so eager to down vote what is clearly intended to be an inane joke.

There is enough variation in Shudderwock decks that you could find room for them. Maybe trim a Mana Tide Totem, and a Sandbinder, or some of the tech options, like oozes or Black Knight, maybe only run a one-of removal option of each.

Any reason why this is being downvoted? I am fairly sure this would work, and is in line with current meta strategies (Shudderwock/Battlecry Shaman).

Grumble, Worldshaker played with Zola the Gorgon on itself and any other 7 health minion to create 1 mana 7/7s. Next turn play your 1 mana 7 health duo and then Star Aligner!

I am more distraught at this news than I could have expected. Probably because I never expected it. However, I am SUPER excited to see what he dreams up for his next project. Whatever it is I will be excited to give it a go, 'cause let's face we here all love the guy. Thanks for all the fun, Ben Brode!

This degree of roulette makes it hard to gauge the actual power level of Tess Greymane, but I think most of us can agree she looks like an incredibly fun card to roll the dice on. Also, there's that fox.

In retrospect, I should have posted this here first. I am new to this process, apologies. Even though my submission is already in, I'm still curious whether anyone else has ideas to better this design.

This is my first try at one of these competitions. However, I've lately been interested in Magni's lore, and thought I'd contribute. Please, any and all pointers are welcome.

I'm surprised to see negative comments. Seems like it'll make some value out of where other cards have failed in the past. Could work well with Evens. Will more often than not (at least in my Shaman experience) be a 4 mana 6/7 taunter. This seems like a fine addition.

A replacement-ish for Thing from Below? He's a cheap totems matter taunter that hits the board for a steal, I'd be surprised if he doesn't see play.
