OTK/Combo deck runs on the idea of "Struggle, but when you got your combo, you win"
Priest runs on the idea of "Counter your opponent's play, you win after depleting your opponent's win condition(s)"
Since Hearthstone doesn't have "Force your opponent to discard" mechanic and we have no method to deal with opponent's resources. Priest can only watch helplessly as his opponent assemble the win condition and destroys him, there's nothing Priest can do. It's like Freeze Mage against Control Warrior, but at least there's Tempo deck for Mages, while Aggro Priest doesn't exist.
People are fine with Freeze Mage being helpless against Control Warrior, because it's just 1 subsection of a class against another subsection of a class. But right here it's a whole class against a certain deck archetype.
What're people's thought on this? And let's focus on the topic and not Priest as a whole is in a sorry mess right now...
The turn you play it, it's a 3 Mana 3/5 with Charge, which is enough to take out most of your opponent's small minion and survive. After that, it becomes a 2/2, making it less ideal as a face card but much better for anti-aggro.
I agree that cards with incorrect text should be disqualified, although the entrant should be informed via PM that they need to update the text (perhaps even with a mod's suggested correct text). Missing things like full stops, apostrophes, mis-formatting effects and even capitalisation is not acceptable IMO
This will be really unfair for non-English speaker.
Not to mention stuffs like missing full stop or apostrophes are trivial for the spirit of CDC, where we are suppose to reward creativity and ability to balance a card, not making sure there's a full stop at the end of a line of texts or find the most suitable picture for a certain card. Sure they help, but emphasis on those and disqualify cards based on those are just missing the spirit of CDC
Pretty straight forward, you can now see your opponent's hand, and judge if you need to play around his minions and removals, while he can see yours, and decide if he's gonna play them now or save for later.
If all else fails, it's still a 0 Cost spell for Gadgetzan Auctioneer and Combo in general
Fel puppy hates spells, fel puppy smells spell damage, fel puppy charge!
Really, that's all. It's a vanilla minion otherwise so it's not all bad, ideal for taking out of pesky Azure Drake, and make Shaman think twice before using his Hero Power.
My submission this week. A high risk, high reward card that plays to Kil'jaeden's theme of offering power in exchange for loyalty...and how his new subjects tend to betray him afterward.
Is the drawback from his Deathrattle bad enough? Oh, and I firmly believe Mind Control is overcosted, so I am not using that card as criteria for balance.
High risk, high reward, Mind Control on crack but can be VERY bad if he gets removed. Fitting to Big K's theme of offering power in exchange for loyalty...and how his new subjects tend to betray him afterward.
I really felt like this week as more so, create a priest card to do well. None the less I do like the Goblin Medic. Though what is the use for Staff of Purification except for the obvious cards like Injured Blademaster, Ancient Watcher, etc?
None the less my favorites this week are Cold Reflex, Goblin Medic and Jubeka Shadowbreaker, brilliant ideas!
Other than those two you mentioned, other candidates include Millhouse Manastorm, Eerie Statue, Venture Co. Mercenary, and if you count Wild, Fel Reaver, Dancing Swords, and most of the ogres. I probably missed out some cards through, since there're A LOT of cards with drawback in Hearthstone, and most are not played hence not well known among the players.
In short, it encourages a new deck type for priest that involves proactively silencing the drawback on your over-stat minions, and use the mostly unused cards of the game.
Plus, it can help you take out those pesky minions with 1 Health. IMO, this is more than enough purpose for a single 2 Mana card.
You got the name of my card wrong, in a more...meme way. I am having mixed feeling...
Anyway, thanks for all who voted for my card. I wanted to design a self-silence effect that actually works and promote a new deck type, tying it to a weapon that also help ping minions is a little bonus.
Wailing Soul Druid was once a thing, so self-silence obviously can work, it just need the right card for it.
You are comparing a 2 Mana card with a 4 Mana card. For a closer comparison, I recommend Kindly Grandmother, both are 2 Mana, and through their Deathrattle, provides 7 points of stat (3/4 vs 4/3), and from what I see, Kindly Grandmother is used by all hunters except may be Yogg&Load hunter.
We can play it early if we need a minion to stop aggro, and against Control we can hold onto it to produce something big. We don't have to worry about it being a dead card ever, it's a spell for Priest of the Feast, and can even be used to trigger Wild Pyromancer if you're desperate.
I swapped Loot Hoarder out of this deck after losing a matchup due to it clog up my Deathrattle andResurrect. My N'zoth summoned 4 Loot Hoarders, which then proceed to mill the living daylight out of me. Sure, Forbidden Shaping can give you crap minions too, but it most likely won't be something as bad as Hoarder for Fatigue orResurrect.

A cheaper Emperor Thaurissan that's easier to combo with, but comes with a risk: Your opponent knows exactly what's coming.
Update: Fixed an error at the Cost

So...does Renounce Darkness count for this week's theme?

Glad my card made it to the Final, thank you for all who voted for my card!
And...shouldn't the Discussion thread for the next CDC be up by now? Or did I miss something?

What do you think if we use Forbidden Shaping instead of Arcane Giant?
