posted a message on URGENT: Blizzard, please ban!

If they're playing out more minions, they're losing out on value they could get from playing them post Crystal Core.  Isn't the whole meta of Duels riddled with OP Hero Powers and crazy Treasure cards?  Is the Rogue Quest really strong enough to overpower things that were designed to be strong in that environment?
You're right about the mana they're spending, but I think this is a little preemptive.  I don't think that whatever they'd end up doing is *so powerful* that it should never be allowed to see play until it's determined to be *that powerful*.

That doesn't really seem that ridiculous to me.  If the Rogue spends 4 or 5 turns summoning 1/1s and doing little else, let them have 4/4s.  If I can't put myself in a winning position through aggression at that point, then a few 4/4s won't stop me for another turn or two.  If I can't win by then, I'll lose!  No big deal.

posted a message on Are there core cards you are very unhappy to see ?

I'm really annoyed that the 1-drop assigned to Hunter was Webspinner of all things.  It is perhaps the weakest 1 drop in the game for the class, and I'm bummed they didn't devise some new one for Hunter instead.  I can't complain too much, because Sunscale Raptor rocks my socks, and the two of them will be out for the same amount of time.  Webspinner just doesn't do anything when you play it, and has the worst possible stats for the cost (barring 0/1 I guess), but Jeweled Macaw really fills this role better.  Most of Hunters cards are pretty sour to me, but maybe the weak Core Set will open the door for Hunter to finally get powerful and interesting cards in upcoming sets!

posted a message on Valeera the Hollow and Secret Passage

Not sure if anybody's seen this interaction AND posted about it, and I'm certainly not sure it's an interaction that has any application or value in a competitive setting BUT:

If you are Valeera the Hollow and you have the Death's Shadow Hero Power active, there's an interesting interaction with Secret Passage.

If you cast Secret Passage, the Shadow in your hand becomes Secret Passage and then shuffles away into your deck. Then, at the end of your turn, when that Shadow card would normally go away, it instead returns to your hand as a Shadowy Secret Passage.  At the start of your next turn, you get yet another Shadow card, and can then have two in hand!  I guess that's pretty sweet actually, since you can now triple up a card as opposed to doubling it up.

Have you seen this interaction before?  What power lies in tripling up a single card?  Is this a big win for Mill Rogue?
    I don't know!

posted a message on My Hero - Shaman - is gone

That sounds pretty strange, but Classes can be unlocked by defeating the Innkeeper in Solo Mode playing that class.  So you'll have to defeat him while he's playing Shaman in order to get it back.  Unless this is a weird, inexplicable bug.

posted a message on Just me a bit disappointed by the theme of the expansion?

The Barrens is sweet because it's giant, it's got so much diversity in its locales with Oasis's, thick overgrowths, rivers, savannahs, the coastline.  There's plenty of room for the team to work with.  We just had an entire expansion take place within the creative confines of "Evil Carnival", I think they'll do fine with the entire Barrens, given Hearthstone rarely stays 100% with the source material.  They'll probably add Hearthstony stuff, I don't think we have anything to worry about.

And we've had expansions before that were just about one place/thing.  There was The Grand Tournament (which DID suck though lol), Mean Streets of Gadgetzan was *literally* just a Hearthstone-ified Gadgetzan.  Un'Goro was pretty loyal to Un'Goro which is a pretty small area and that expansion ROCKED.  The Witchwood is just the woods around Gilneas and that was pretty cool.  Saviors of Uldum was just Uldum with the plot stemming from Rise of Shadows, which took place completely in Dalaraan.

Expansions taking place in a single region isn't something new to Hearthstone, and it's hardly a bad thing.  I'm a Horde fan, I didn't play much WoW but when I did I was Horde, and I remember the Barrens.  I HATED Outland but Ashes of Outland was pretty sweet.

posted a message on What’s your lvl on new progress system?

I'm in the low 50's.  I bought the pass for the skins and the speed but I've been really noncommittal since I got level 50.  Haven't really played since, to be honest.  Still got 5300 Gold, more than I've ever had before an expansion.

posted a message on Warrior spell school

Hunter I imagine will end up primarily with Nature, while most secrets I think probably won't be given spell schools on account of them being mostly nonmagical mechanisms.  Explosive MIGHT be Fire, Snakes MIGHT be nature but it depends on the logic that Blizz uses when making these decisions.
Clearly we're not assigning these only to damaging spells, what with Paladin's Librams and that new Priest spell, so are Hunter's Beast-Summoning spells going to be Nature?  Animal Companion is literally just calling an animal companion to help in combat, that's not very magical if they're like 10 feet away lol.  Treant Summoning spells I think are more obviously nature.

posted a message on So What's the Complaint This Time?

You'd know better than I do.  I primarily play Wild, and only play for the first few months of an expansion (I usually set a goal and stop playing once I meet it).  My main window into Standard is people on here, the links they post to sites that have actual stats, and the YouTubers I watch.

Glad to hear it's more balanced than I suspected.

    Quote from Hooghout >>

You can wait for such a thread and it is not even new. One of the many from the know-it-all-kind, brainchild of a Blizzard henchman wannabee, deliberating from its bandwagon, pretending in fellow travellers style as if he frequently visits Ayala and consort, with one goal...to tell you how stupid you are. No, no, Blizzard can do no wrong, they are always right. The meta will be ok, card design flawless, skill level is high, diversity will be ok al always.....so how stupid you must be maggot to even dare to complain once again.

Over the years they've come and on this forum. Types that behave like that. One goal to defend devs by default. Pseudo-intellectuals.

It is types like these that Blizzard builds on to keep the meta unbalanced, overly aggressive, undivers, classes falling from ladder, a mindlessly low skill floor, polarized, too steep RPS, permanently suppressed control to name a few. And don't forget the mindlessness of Tikatus and Zephrys. Hail to the target audience.

Well nothing to complain. The mindless target audience will be served again. Spamm, buff, burn, go face will rule once again. How predictable. Repulsiveness as ever with a cool smile. The meta must and will be aggressive. Fast paced they call it. And henchmen wannabees to defend the gods. By the way isn't it funny to see 'balance changes' all the time. So every new change is the unbalance of the future. Keeping the meta unbalanced is the permanent balance. The politics of card design. Chew on that.

I don't know if it's a good look to both Pose that all people who disagree with you are faux high-minded sheep who pretend to be intellectual, while doing so by waxing poetic about a digital card game.  Unless you're being deliberately ironic (in which case well played), you're just being un self aware.

I too long for the days of Un'Goro, when every class had a viable competitive deck, and the meta had diversity in gameplay between aggro, control, and combo.  There will always be a best deck, that's just how card games work.  You have a point in saying that current balance changes are made while the dev team is at least one-and-a-half expansions ahead of us, so changes that remain in standard to have an effect on those cards.  I hadn't considered that before and it's interesting to think about.

Just relax with the posturing.  Control players all seem to think they're 500 IQ geniuses these days.  It's just a game.

posted a message on So What's the Complaint This Time?

My personal routine is to complain that Hunter never gets any interesting or unfair cards the way all the other classes do, so I'll have to hold off until the full set is revealed before I dust of the ole "shift H".  And last time I did that, Highlander Hunter ended up with the highest winrate of any deck in the meta, but nobody really noticed.

As a person with poor impulse control who loves pretty colors, I've got a fair share of Golden Legends, but I'm a Wild player so I can't complain about the Core Set rotating them out.  Not even sure if I have Classic Legends in Gold, most of em are pretty stinky.

    Good post.

That's true, but at the time there was no Core Set, although the idea was possibly in development.  Who's to say we won't get an Iron Hide redo in the Core Set haha.  But you're probably right, it's just a coincidence.

posted a message on WITH SOURCE: New Rogue Hero skin confirmed for 2021

Buncha psychos on this thread who think an LGBT+ skin would be "forcing" anything.  It could literally just be a canonically gay character, one whose hero portrait never directly eludes to it, you could never know, and if you did you could just *not* play it.

Let people be represented, it does no harm to any person.

I suspect that Hamuul having a line for Lunar Visions means it'll come back in the Core Set, hopefully as a buffed card since it's pretty bad.
