Reminds me of the time when [cad]purify[/card] was released and priest was the worst class in the meta and Ben Brode told us all that there is actually a mythical "univorn priest" that would do great in that current meta.
Unfortunately, unicorns do not exist. We never figured out any such priest, and Ben never told us. Because he didn't have any idea what it could be either.
It is in fact possible for the meta to be unbalanced.
Ooh your snark is going to make these algorithms and data come at you with warp speed you sarcastic pleb! HS is rigged Chess doesn’t have the capability to make a card like Zephrs HS does!
Do you really think, with all the spaghetti code that's already in the game, they'd make even more effort to change Zephrys's outcomes based on your current deck's winrate against decks similar to the one your opponent has?
Powercreeping old cards that aren't played anymore is perfectly acceptable. Just because a bad card exists, it doesn't means that blizz isn't allowed to print a better one. After 2500+ cards, that's just a completely needless restriction of design space. Some powercreep is bound to happen.
Think about Ice Rager. Yes, we all know it's a powercreep of Magma Rager, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't have been possible to make, right? Same goes for Burrowing Scorpid
I think the issue with a full dust refund within a time frame would encourage people to just have a stockpile of dust which allows them to craft any deck at all when they log on, play it, DE it and craft another as they please, and then just DE everything they crafted before they log off for the day.
It essentially allows one to have access to every card.
While I would love this, it unfortunately means that people won't have any more incentive to buy packs, apart from slightly reducing the time it takes to switch decks.
I do very much agree with your first point, though. It incentivises maximising your win-rate to earn xp, as opposed to wins per hour in the last system and time spent in the current one, and I feel that this is exactly what it should be. The last system encouraged aggro, the current one encourages bots that do nothing but pass, but your suggestion would encourage playing your best deck and actually playing it; learning to play it well.

There was a good reason to nerf it; it was OP in standard at the time.
Then it rotated to wild, and Blizz lets people enjoy cards in their glory in Wild, because wild's power level is higher, so raza priest isn't OP there

hreplay.net also has a good deck tracker

I'm sorry, I don't follow..
You say that Blizzard gave Zephrys his own artificial intelligence, and then he decides himself whether he wants you to lose or not?

Unless your comment is sarcastic itself, in which case I apologise for not being able to tell the difference between your post and a genuine idiot's one. I'm just glad that OP's comment is obvious in its satire of this post https://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/class-discussion/priest/246468-priest-matchmaking

Ah, polkelt makes sense. That explains the lack of plague of death, too

And Skull of Gul'Dan now draws 4 and always discounts them to 0

Try putting C'thun in an odd deck and seeing what happens. Will your HP upgrade half the time?
Maybe this is actually on purpose, so that C'thun fits in neither odd nor even decks.

Dragonqueen Alexstrasza
Why is she not already in the deck? 1 card adding 2 1-cost cards to your hand is great for the OTK, and it's amazing value if you need it sooner

Snowflipper penguin shadowstep Daring Escape dire mole
play up to 9 penguins on turn 1!
remember that Tavern Brawls don't count for quests!

For anyone who's wondering what the tech against this deck is, I've seen good results using Mad Summoner. Bad Luck Albatross also does alright

I'm at level 42, but 10 of those levels were given for free because of this https://www.hearthpwn.com/news/7801-quest-and-xp-compensation-heroic-duels-returning
