    posted a message on Weekly Design Competition #14 - [Ended]

     

    This card is based on Kor'gall, an Ogre that Rexxar had slain to become Stonemaul Chieftain. 

    Idea: This card mechanic grant a 50% of replacing your hero, symbolizing the fight between Korgall and Rexxar.

    Balance and Use: While this is a hunter card, it purpose is not to support face hunter, but to support control hunters and increase hunter's overall viability in Arena. This card is viable both as a hero and a minion, depending on your luck, you could both gain a minion that has strength comparable to Dr.Boom or becoming a hero, putting your health at risk, but gaining control in the process. The drawback of becoming 10 health would prevent players to use this card immediately at turn 7, but only when the hunter have board control so he does not get killed the next turn.

    Weapon: Serathil was an axe given to Rexxar after defeating Kor'gall, and so receiving Serathil after Kor'gall is defeated or becoming Kor'gall make sense for mechanic. Serathil is made to synergize with Kor'gall's hero power, or to give Rexxar more face damage, either way it's very powerful.

    Hero Power: His hero power while it purpose is to grant the hero board control without having drawback, it can also synergize with Steamwheel sniper, effectively becoming 2 mana Bestial Wraith every turn.

    Murlocs! I've made two Murloc card today on counter/synergize on Fan Creation Forum. It's really fun making murlocs, especially with all their famous characters, and subgenre including Jinyuu, Mur'ghoul ... etc.

    This card is based off The Prophet Skeram, a boss of Ahn'Qiraj. This card have really heavy value, it's basically a yeti and 2 ancient watcher for 7 mana. However, considering that Druids doesn't have much cards to synergize with Ancient Watcher, and the risk of having too much minion out against mind control tech, I decided to add a misdirect functionality to the summon instead, to make this competitive against other powerful 7/8 mana drops such as Ragnarok and Dr.Boom. So when both illusion are alive, enemies will have chance to attack the illusions instead. This will be used to gain board control, but it will not be strong against face, due to high mana commitment of the card and redirection effect only useful if the enemy target minions.

    When I decided to look up at this week's weekly card competition, it happen to collide with a theme of cards I'm creating, so I decided to join in. I thought up of a whole bunch of time mechanic, and how to make the time function in Norzdormu actually useful. And part of what I came up with was actions happening at interval of times instead of turn. This can become complex if you have secrets out, and enemy might take too long to make a decision, that it kill their minion before they attack. It's powerful behind taunt as well, as it does stuff immediately and on both player's turn.It deals 6 damage during your turn, if you play it immediately on a normal turn. It's a bit slow, but it give some board control and pressure your enemy to think faster before their low health minion dies.

    I built a very similar deck as this also, but I went for a more control theme. I lost to a lot of rush deck so I took elements from this + a kezan mystic, since I haven't really played a game without any secret for a while. If your at a rank where no one play rush anymore, Brawl, Shredder and not having wildo would probally be a lot better. I felt like 2 war axe made it more consistent. I mean most Patron deck are centered with aoe and some counter to what they run into. Also armor was neccesary to not drop too low when people play hound against my patron lol. Not having armor in this age of rush is suicide.

    The Emperor and Loatheb are less consistent to me. I tend to draw emperor last, or when I don't have cards that can utilize the mana decrease.

    Personally I like Nerubian egg to counter Flamestrike/ 3+ damage aoes/ or just any aoe when I don't have Grim Patron and and enrage target for early game control, I used it a bit on my Grim Patron deck, before I encountered your deck . Do you think it could be slide in with any way optimization wise? I really want pro's opinion. 

    Also, do you think the next warrior class card will work well against rush decks,

    I had a experience of playing this as a priest, where only the enemy was damaged, and this helped killing him faster. Thank to Auchenai.
