...People like the guy above (Tanookijack) who never netdecks and plays his own creations, I would bet that he is technically a well above average player, and this would show in arena or tavern brawls like I mentioned. Give him that tier 1 netdeck and he'd climb all the way in considerably less time.

Oh yeah that'll go so well. HoF the CLASSIC CLASS LEGENDARIES for some classes and not others! Can you imagine the look on a new player's face when they get their first legendary and they aren't even allowed to use it in standard?

posted a message on The Next Expansion Will Feature a LOT of 10 Drops

I predict a spiteful summoner nerf before a 10-cost heavy expansion. Blizz doesn't like designing 10 costs because they're either garbage or they make faster decks surrender at 10, due to them actually winning the game on the spot like they need to. No matter what they are either not fun for the user or not fun for the opponent.

You're never going to see someone win by pure skill in a card game. Ever. Even when the player does something really clever with bad draws to win, they still needed exactly those cards to do it. Everyone gets lucky.

I'm probably just under 50%. I have never netdecked to climb ladder and never will, and therefore I will lose a lot trying to learn how to pilot my own creations through the meta. I suspect many of the people with winrates below 50% are in the same boat either through necessity or choice. I don't really think high ranked players are all that good, or that it's even that much of an accomplishment. Just a grind.

posted a message on Mike Donais and Peter Whalen on Nerfs, Design, Early Kobolds Cards, and Cards that Didn't Make It

It's PR crap. They think everyone who plays rogue is a Johnny deck-maker who loves cheap, situational, combo-able stuff. If you assume that's true, you're actually appealing to the Johnnies because they think they're outsmarting the developers when they come up with an "OP" combo or some wild effect.

Any idiot knows that's not really true, they're just telling their intended audience what they want to hear.

Mike Donais loves giving Rogues cards which they aren't sure how they're going to get used. "We'll let them figure it out, and hopefully it's not broken.

That's some flowery crap right there. Whatever you think of HS card design you can be sure it's been playtested. Not that it matters, the best rogue decks weld prince keleseth onto the deck list and then after the OP neutrals take their seats they sprink rogue removal in the empty spots and call it a day.

Thankfully, they never let mill and miracle rogue die. I appreciate still having those tools, but I DO wish Oil Rogue could come back.

It's not a control meta, it's a meta where some control/aggro/tempo decks are good.

If Blizzard had a product they sold where you could get exactly the card you wanted, I would be mostly happy with the game.

I think it's too expensive, but this game has basically replaced MTG for me so it has also assumed control of that portion of my fun money (I just can't bring myself to deal with physical cards anymore, it's a hassle to keep them and travel to places to play with them). If Hearthstone actually provided the level of depth and fun that MTG did, I would have no problem continuing to pay as much as I have, but I have cut back substantially over the last year.

MTG has a new online thing called MTG arena or something coming out soon, could try that?
I've actually started arranging some matches in cockatrice with my friends over discord rather than that. I think Wizards took too long to make a digitized version of their card game and the freewares have now completely overshadowed them. It would take all but a miracle for them to get any more of my business, sadly. I just can't justify the expense.

posted a message on Legendary Tier List & Crafting Guide

Keep it. If it ever gets HoF'd you get to keep it and you get full dust. (unlikely, but it's a reason)

If it ever gets changed you can dust it for full crafting value.

Keeping it means you won't draft another al'akir, might be good if you're looking to collect more of the classic legendaries.

Dusting it now and crafting another legendary is inadvisable given than the current meta will last 3 months tops from now. If the crafted legendary becomes crap, then you just turned 3200 dust into 400 dust. RIP
