@TanookiJack I agree with most of your review except the mage card, it says "deal any excess damage to YOUR hero" so it'll hurt yourself unless the minion has 4 or more health.

     Oops. good catch.

posted a message on (want feedback) A card for each class.

Warrior: Spider Tank with a free Arcane Intellect if you're losing. This would be a good 4-mana card. At 3 mana this would be a tier-1 card.

Shammy: It's a good mini-loatheb but again I think you need to up the price by 1 mana. Then again shaman is in dire straights right now, it's hard to want to punish them.

Paly: Interesting. Weak compared to the other cards in the thread. Divine shield is always troubled by how easy it is to just deal 1 damage and remove all synergy.

Mage: Seems too strong. If there were a conditional cost modifier to bring it down to 2 and it normally cost more I'd have more truck with it. cards which push face and trade are dangerously strong. It hits your own face with the excess, I missed that. Now it's just a less versatile frostbolt. The flavor is nice, but it should provide high damage/mana ratio if it's going to have such a drawback. To compare, soulfire does 4 damage to whatever you want with 1 mana for a draw back, as does ice lance.

Warlock: Very weak, corrupting mist is basically the same thing for less than half the mana. The effect is interesting though, perhaps there's an application for it.

Priest: Very strange. Obviously looking to dig more card draw with early minions which is the priest's thing now. With buffs it's pretty potent but probably not competitive enough with priest's current favored picks.

Huntard: Presumably this is to enable hunter to trade better with eaglehorn bow, but a pretty slow card to play. The only control deck out there atm that would like this card's effects is a rohkdelar deck and then you wouldn't want the minion. This is potentially very powerful, but not really for this meta imo.

Drood: Wow. Really cool card and as a finisher I'm in love, but also exceedingly broken in barnabus decks, which are on the rise a bit. Hopefully  the cost reduction resets when it dies.

Rogue: Best flavor, but would never see play at that mana cost. Should also only add 8 cards to your deck, as you are a rogue and you shouldn't need to look for a rogue card.

posted a message on Suicide Warlock (quest grinder)

Hey sorry it's taken so long to get back to you. I found that Sense Demons didn't actually decrease the average amount of turns required to kill myself. Even if it helped obtain the apothecary by turn 4, whichever card I excluded from the deck either gave me less fuel to kill myself with the next turn or reduced my card draw during turns 1,2,and (when I didn't have sense demons or didn't need it) 3. This nets the average death turn higher than turn 4, which is a worse average.

If there were a 0 cost demon this could draw in the event I already found an apothecary, this would be the ideal card for sure though.

Thanks! You'll have to let me know how you do and if you sub any cards. I'm thinking of going -1 Carnivorous Cube right now for an extra early game minion like Tar Creeper.

It's a bit of a problem in wild over time, maybe. Standard will be fine as it's easy enough to counter if it gets out of hand.

Edwin seems kind of bad in this meta. He's an automatic silence target and lots of people are playing it right now. I'd sub him for a Tainted Zealot and get more damage from the spells over time.

posted a message on Barter Rogue - a fan made archetype

One of the things that made Magic: The Gathering special for me was the fact that you weren't always done participating in the game when your turn was over. Choosing blockers, playing instants, the diplomacy of free-for-all matches kept you checked into the match even when your next turn was a while off. Having that participation is great, and I'd like to see more cards that allow your enemy to be engaged in the game with you. This mini-expansion is just Rogue cards, but uses some things we already see in Rogue to help introduce some new mechanics I've come up with.

A bit of warning, I know very little about the WoW universe, but I've done my best to create a set that combines the existing rogue connections to spiders, sellswords/dealmakers, and the Jade Lotus. There's not likely any place where those 3 things exist at the same time in WoW, but it's kind of how I imagined it. Without further excuses, let's get to the new mechanics!

First off is the Barter ability. this is exactly like Choose One effect that Druid has... but your opponent picks! Barter choices are both beneficial for the rogue, but allow the opponent to save themselves from catastrophe for a price. Check out this spell:

Next is Trick. As in "Hat trick". This works like Combo in that it requires other cards to be played first but, it has to be exactly the third card you played that turn to trigger. A Trick will be strong, but may require you to save or spend cards at less than ideal times. Have a gander at this spider-themed heavy hitter:

Lastly, we have reveal. Not actually a keyword, but it allows you to see the top card(s) of your opponents deck... and maybe yours! Both players can see a revealed card, and can impact your opponent's barter decision-making. Check out this little guy:

     TLDR: The Set!

Commons first and we'll work our way up!

    Hunter tokens:

No rarity gem for marksman because I was a lazy boye

As you can see, most of the effects here are probing for coins or information. If we have a hand full of cheap stuff we could Trick out Call The Hunters, but that might not be a great idea. The opponent gets to pick if this card summons the Call to Arms : Rogue Edition or if this card is just a 2-mana Beneath the Grounds. Neither is necessarily bad, but if paladin lets you get away with summoning the hunters on turn 3... he's probably got consecrate. These cards can definitely have some late game potency, but usually need support by then. Moving on... the rares and epics!

Moving to midgame you can see where eyeing up the enemy's deck can produce some cruel choices in Barter. Not many rares published but conceptually this is where you try to jab at the opponent's combo pieces if they have them. Trap-dungeon spider is tempting for being a twisting nether with a body, but at 9 mana there is some definite restriction to this ability and this is a dead card without it! Lastly, some legendaries to put a little backbone into this archetype:

Mister Chu is a high-utility guy! A measly voidcaller when played early, but his trick is quite interesting. Goya's top is 100% control. If played too early, not only do you basically prevent your hero power from being used, but you most likely won't know what your top card is! This sends the top into your deck and you can end up drawing a 1-mana do-nothing at a seriously bad time. However, when played correctly, this can add extra power-house cards to your deck and extend the longevity of the deck against control matchups.

Has your stingy opponent been trying to get out of discarding their top cards in every Barter? Time to repo them! Allseer is tough, but comes a bit short of the holy 4/12 stat-line, making his removal easier. However, opponents who draw lots of cards while Guild Merchant was out will have a hand full of cards and nowhere to hide them if they can't remove the Gryphon. If you have a Preparation in-hand, you might be able to steal their removal before they can react!

I'm not really looking to make a whole set at the moment, I was really interested more in the concept and I like seeing what you guys put out there as well. Do you also crave the ability to have agency in your opponent's turn?

posted a message on Need Help with My Anyfin Can Happen and Call to Arms deck...

The only advice I can give is that IMO, 3/4 of the Unidentified Maul buffs are superior to Rallying blade. divine shields are inherently difficult to keep up more than a turn and thus make it pretty tough to land. Furthermore, it does not buff your big murlocs, which are probably the one's you rather have buffed if anything.

Ivory night also seems really slow. Obviously getting an extra anyfin is almost an auto-win, but the odds in wild of getting it aren't great... I'd recommend truesilver champion first which would free up your board to go more smorc and less trade, keeping more minions alive for longer.

Lastly, I don't see consecration doing much. For the same mana you can play Gentle Megasaur and adapt your murlocs and get a 5/4 body. Considering you can easily Call to arms+ Megasaur on turn 9 and refresh a freshly cleared board, that's much more likely to get you over a bunch of weak taunts or whatever else those are supposed to be for.

You can link it with the BB code they give when you create the deck, it's much easier to post.

Oh shit, this guy is back! I’m surprised he wasn’t banned yet. The OP is just a massive troll who starts fights with everyone don’t even bother posting something constructive or he will probably call you a fat hipocrite, at least that’s what he did when claiming that Blizzard is scamming everyone with tilted packs. Lol

Okay reading that made my fucking day, ty

It’s unfortunately true as well, if you look at alll of his posts, there isn’t a single one where he isn’t raging like 5 year who just got there sweet roll stolen (Nice little nod towards Skyrim there).
Oh yeah he was the guy from a couple days ago that was ranting about the card pack loophole blizz deployed in china... well that kind of killed this topic for me. I tried once already to get a real discussion from him, but he doesn't want one.

    1) The next keyword will probably be something along the lines of First Strike, Flying (ignore taunt naturally), or Regenerate from MtG. (They already added Lifelink and Hexproof recently). I'd like to see a card like Deft Duelist come into the game. An early minion that has very strong staying power in combat but is frail to AoE and can't really receive buffs.

    2) They will probably also experiment more with giving classes win conditions that go outside simply setting your opponent's HP to 0. Similar to mill rogue, Rin-Lock, and Exodia Paladin, where you win by attacking your opponents pool of cards or simply activating an ability that ends the match.

    3) They will start building up all the dead archetypes they created with the 2017 expansions (freeze-man, dude-adin, more disco-lock, etc).
