I think this card being in >20% of decks you encounter on the wild ladder seeps a lot of fun out of the format. There are a lot of fun decks that might be sort of good but aren't viable because of devolve. It might not be the most powerful card, but it's certainly the most anti-fun card in the wild meta.
Thanks for posting this! I'm about to craft gnome, voidlord, and godfrey to play this deck and since I'm terrible at control I'll need all the help I can get. Between this and ksr's posts I might have some chance at a positive winrate
How about not overcomitting to a wide board and completely playing into plague?
What do I know though? I just started this game in vanilla and learned not to overextend into things like Flamestrike & Holy Nova. Must be hard being a modern player who never learned that lesson when going face.
I hate this argument. Spreading Plague is so much worse than AoE. You can "overcommit" against druid as Shaman or Paladin just by hero powering, or playing your one-drop on curve, which isn't true for AoE. Druid is the class that is 95% composed of decks that need to be pressured in the early game, but if you do that they can turn it around on you by ignoring your board and then playing SP while they gather their combo and gain armor. It takes druid's one weakness and turns it around with a single card. Fuck Spreading Plague
Yes I think it is probably better. I might even want to keep Spider Tank and replace Harvest Golem with Amalgam. I don't have Amalgam, though. Let me know how it works for you ;)
I climbed to 6 with odd rogue but at 6 there were so many druids I had to switch. Any even shaman list with 2x Devolve should do it.
If you're consistently having trouble with running out of cards with even shaman I'd suggest going face more. It's supposed to be played fairly aggressively.
I'm glad you had good results with it! I went 30-7 from rank 14 to 6. Then starting with the final boss of rank 6 I went on a 6 loss streak and ended up switching decks to something better against odd paladin and druid. I think as I got closer to rank 5 I started to encounter opponents who were more diligent about clearing my mechs, making the OP mech cards really, really bad.
I still think it's a good deck but the meta can be very unfavorable to it at times.
If I find myself not facing so much odd paladin, druid, and mech hunter I'll dust this deck off again

Coin double weapon sounds like something I do when I get the "play x weapons" quest. I promise I'm not a bot... beep boop
What kind of person would take the time to set up a bot and then put double light's justice in their deck anyway?

Floop is better in almost every case, but you can play it with 2 brewmasters instead

Fuck mage secrets. Stop encouraging people to play them, please!

This deck is tons of fun. Lots of interesting decisions, but not terribly difficult to do well with and very strong
