BTW, logging out, and back into Battle.net didn't do anything either. Still waiting for the error to be fixed, then ... :) No problems, I expect bugs when you implement a new shiny thing.
Once again, for all of you who are proud of your two new cards, it's a bug. Don't DE either of the new cards, or you'll be desting both. I wld wait until the Blues confirm the error has been fixed (so far, relaunching the game does nothing).
There's a bug, as people have pointed out. My suggestion is to not do ANYTHING until the bug is resolved, and the fix is in place. I'd rather wait a bit than screw something up with my cards, or decks, or collection, or anything. :)
when i saw two copies of golden epic i was happy. It could gave me 800 + dust from one chest. now they say its a bug!! I mean is it really so hard to just give two copies of golden card???? at least that would gave me more reason to play high rank, now im like meeeh...
thats just being greedy blizz!
What's so greedy about it? They gave you free stuff from a newly introduced feature. Would you rather receive nothing at all?
WARNING!
I have read a blue post stating that if you DE your "bonus" card from the bug, you'll actually be destroying your only copy of the card you got. My advice: don't do ANYTHING until the bug is resolved, and the fix is in place.
I think about the only edge you get is in experience as you play the game. The newer players won't have that, but they'll learn after they get throguh the kinder-levels of the stock class decks. And remember, we have places like Hearthpwn, where people can check out high-end decks and try to build them, or soemthing close to them ... and people here have given all sorts of advice on how to begin the game.
As for the adventures, there are TWO of them at this point, and Hearthpwn has really good guides that allowed ME to beat the normal levels on them and get what I want out of the adventures, so a new player can slog through those as well.
I sense that there is a lot of thought that new players perhaps should not have to do much to become competitive. Not only does this rob them of the opportunity to experiment with decks from Hearthpwn and perhaps their own ideas as they gain more cards, but it also robs them of the essential experience of learning the game overall. The quality of the player is cheapened by simply throwing cards and decks to overcome some sort of disadvantage. And what about those players like myself, who have been here since before G&G came out? I am just now getting decently good at constructed, and i am having a blast. I did it the hard way. I paid for the adventures, I sometimes paid for a few extra packs, and I have paid for the latest expansion, and I can not wait to see what i get. Any sort of "get caught up quick & cheap" scheme would seem to be unfair to those of us who have invested quite a bit into this game.
Hearthstone will not load on my iPad. It gets to the door, and then it just sits there with the blue hearth symbol glowing and so on ... and nothing. This started happening after this latest update.. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and still the same thing. Before I did that, I shut down the iPad and restarted it, and the game still did not work. It was after that that I did the reinstall.
Emperor Thaurissan is a decent card, for the reasons stated above. BGH, Savage Roar, and others, are all good cards, that don't reallunbalance anything. This is because, in my case, i don't make decks that rely on one thing to damage you. My mage deck, for instance, uses secrets and such to allow me to copy your minions(Mirror Image), and with Mad Scientist, I can do that a LOT. I've seen people concede after they gave me a free Thaurissan or Kel'Thazad. Speaking of the big guy, how about Kel'thaza & Sludge Belcher, or two ... it basically leaves you attacking taunt creatures for the rest of the game while you still have a board, because I use my creatures to take down your board, and anything that dies comes back fully healed. Or how about we go back to our class, and use spells? How about Mana Worm, Flamewaker, and any spells I have ... and if I get two Flamewakers out there, the fireworks are awesome.
Emperor Thaurissan is good as a means to getting things out a bit sooner, but he is only good for one or two turns, for the most part.
Dr. Boom is a strong choice. I also like Archmage Antonidas, but that's simply because my main play deck is a Mage deck that is on a tear (7 wins / 1 loss). :)
I should reach 1600 powder for the first time here today or tomorrow. Originally,.My question is, whom should I craft with it? Originally, I had thought about Alex, and that is still near the top of the list ... but I am wondeering ...
Currently, I have the following legendary or epic cards:
Cenarius King Krush Vol'jin Lord Jaraxxus Baron Rivendare Old Murk-Eye Bloodmage Thalnos King Mukla Feugen & Stalag Harrison Jones Loatheb Emperor Thaurissan Illidan Stormrage Maexxna Sylvanas Windrunner Rend Blackhand Troggzor the Earthinator (*excellent nod to Strong-Bad!*) Chromaggus Kel'Thazad Majordomo Executus Nefarian Ysera
Kel'Thazad works excellently in this deck. I just played against another Druid with a remarkably similar deck, but I got Kel'Thazad out and had a fun time recycling Sludge Belchers. Then I got Ancient of War out, and made him a taunt creature. By the time I was done, I had 15-20 points of taunt out there for the opponent to get through, and enough out there to dest his Kel'Thazad when he played it.
I have actually won a couple times as Ragnaros ... it is a tougher win, but it can be done.
That being said, I think they need to tweek things a bit. You should be given packs, powder, or gold after every so many wins, otherwise, why track the wins. I like the idea that the rules change every week, so if you don't like the format one week, come back next week.
As to the complaints, the way I figure it, it is a free game, and Blizzard is putting real work into it. I make the assumption that the next big thing will be an expansion, and they have the entire WoW world to play with. So this one was smaller than other new releases, I can be patient.
I used my murloc deck on the Grim Guzzler. Got him on my second run, but both battles were really fun, especially because his special ability gives you a minion from your deck too.

And used the same murloc deck again to beat the emperor. On my second attempt ... hint: don't attack his wife.
