It's not random. You wish it is, but it is not. If the game wants you to lose several games, then you lose. I choose Miracle - I got Freezmage, Giants Mage, Handlock, whantever AND on top of that you of course do not draw Gadzetzan or Azure Drake. I switch to Druid - I NEVER get Mage, NEVER. On top of that of course you do not draw your wild growth or useful cards. I have 5 taunts in my deck and I never drew them when they needed the whole match. I choose Rogue again - meta switches again, I choose Druid - it switches back. I choose Handlock, I never get Rogue opponent or they draw like crazy and you not. I try to play 2-3-4 games and then switch, but meta switches when I switch. It's not always, but only when the game decides that. Then you will have this streak. And then no matter what you do, you will lose.

You feel those streaks are not random. And it's awful. It happens every day. They created such a shady mmr-system, you bet they also created some sort of self-regulated matchmaking mechanism. And you bet they kinda connected to each other and serve the same purpose.

I didn't liked this class from the beginning of HS. And it all started with Flamestrike hate, lol))

 You can say that on pretty much everything, that it is psychological. What winning the games gives to you other than that? It is all about fun, man. If people enjoy what they do, it is all that matters. At least when you play a video game.

It's because we are living more and more in a plastic world now. If you know what I mean.

What a highroll fiesta it become. Not enjoying it anymore. I think that as Arena player I will love back to Classic constructed way more.

I am a Hearthstone 'whale'.  I can use that word, because I am one.  You can too if you are part of the pod, but you better not if you aren't, or we go all Orca.  Don't mis-appropriate our culture, please, we are endangered, and when you make our environment so noisy, well, you can't understand how it feels to get beached out until you have been there, high and dry, baking on the ironically golden sand, as your rope runs out.  

All (ok, some) kidding aside, I make a good living and don't mind financing Blizz and the game I like playing in a way that increases my personal aesthetic enjoyment. That might be a little more important given I am only a slightly better than average player, lol, so animated portraits do make me feel somehow like this is a little less a waste of my time.  I cringe a little every time I buy one, having bought into that self-whale-hate a little.  But when I get around to opening them, ahhhh, shiny, lol.

But I am not just spouting off to try and amuse you; I do want to share some info that helped me overcome bundle buying woes and maximize golden collection spread for other whales (and allies).  After the rank 1 bundles appeared in my shop, I bought them and the rank 2 bundles did not appear right away.  When they did the next day, I entered my card info and clicked, it said 'Sorry, you are not eligible for this purchase." and kicked me back to the shop, where the rank 2 bundles still sat, taunting me like a yacht club I am not allowed to dock at. 

I figured, glitch.  Has to be one, I just KNOW Blizzard wants my krill.  They made the offer, there was literally no fine print regarding eligibility requirements, and under the United States Uniform Commercial Code, if an offer is made and acceptance follows, that's a contract... the seller must deliver the goods.  Its federal law, Donnie Baker!

So I log out of the game and into my Blizz account to change cards, thinking maybe its the card I am using.  Log back in, and the bundles are gone! Sigh. Refused service!  I filed a service ticket, and was told some baloney... the guy was clearly making something up to get the ticket closed. Said my August purchase of the Golden Stormwind Bundle for $79.95 invalidated my eligibility for the rank 2 bundle. 

I wrote back, arguing that is ridiculous, why would a purchase from a prior promotion invalidate a different bundle now, especially if it let me buy rank 1?  I mentioned the complete lack of any fine print, how they made an offer and when I accepted, refused it, uinlawfully (I kept hearing comedian Donnie Baker's voice 'It's State Law!").  I reminded them that dangling golden cards in front of a whale and then refusing to sell them, well, that's just cruel. I mean, at least bait the hook.

I told them 'think about it, you really think your bosses want you to not find a way to take my krill?  Maybe you better elevate this to someone who gets it enough to at least give me an explanation that makes sense.  Got a second reply saying 'Really sorry, but as we have had no other complaints, we have no way to fix it.  Suggest you go file a bug report, and maybe they can work it. "

Its not the first time I have gotten that rote response to a ticket...always amazes me that customer service wants us to do their jobs... is there some reason they can't go file that bug report and do their job, serving the customer, instead of trying to make us do it for them? We are not free labor for Blizz.

I give up. Just keep swimming, I tell myself in Dori's voice.  Maybe I can quit.  Yeah, that's what I'll do, right after I hit legend someday. 

So I go back to playing, stuck at platinum near diamond late in the month as usual, but now, all I notice is the lifeless dullness of every fourth card that is still non-golden. In fairness,  I have not dusted a gold card in my entire 7+ year play history, unless it was nerfed or I had more than the max playable (and have stopped doing that given there is no limit in Arena, my favorite format). 

So yeah, between that and having bought every standard gold bundle they ever offered (and didn't renege on!) and having crafted many gold cards, I have like 70-80% of the gold standard cards).  Still not enough to get a golden coin in Arena like Kripp though!  Just knowing that bundle is out there and I cant get it or the mythical rank 3 bundle... I am just harpooned.

Then today, I logged in and noticed it was back! But crap, I was on my Europe account, the free to play one where I code-switch to pass for a non-whale.  My blowhole spouted a raspberry.  I only shovel krill for gold cards in the Americas!  And I had just been there with no rank 2 bundle in sight from one horizon of the shop sea to another.  But I have to know, and go back... and AHOY! There is rank 2 GOLD in that thar shop!

I click the purchase button and get a blanked out card wizard.... weird, it is usually prepopulated.  I have to type my name, #s, everything in, which is hard with flippers that are so big and yards apart, but I manage, and click.... SUCCESS!  Wait, Golden Magtheridon as my first bonus GL? Figures, lol,

So, just be aware, the gold bundle buying experience can be a little like bubble fishing in a harbor full of freighters at full speed, you gotta watch out for the propellers!  But if you have trouble getting the bundle in your shop, just keep checking the shop.  Logging out and back in (especially if you switch servers) seems to reset this bundle sometimes.  It seems to come and go at random, kind of like plastic shopping bags and glitter in the path of my meals.  If you're a whale, too, you get it.

Now, if I could just find that rank 3 bundle.  When we spot it, let's hope Ahab isn't on board!

Anyway, everyone krill out, its just a game, and we whales do our best to keep the game free for the rest of you.  Please, save the whales! 

Update: Got the rank 3 bundle! 24 more Golden standard packs and 2 more Golden Standard Legendaries!  Here is the best tip: Just keep those packs sealed in your mouth, like Jonah, if you already have a lot of golden standard commons, rares and epics.  Don't open them until the next set is live.  Because as Standard packs, they are basically like a pre-purchase of the next sets cards, at least partially, because if you don't open them till its live, the algorithm favors cards you have never opened! 

If you do HODL them sealed, when you get your pre-purchase bundles (as we whales most always do), do NOT open any packs during a Tavern Brawl early opening session: Standard packs wont pick up new set cards before the set is live... keep waiting.  Once the set is live, open the Golden Standard packs first, so that you preset your collection of the newest set with as many golden cards as possible before you open the regular pre-purchase packs! 

Waiting, with the patience of a whale, this way, you will minimize the occurrence of golden cards you already have and reduce third goldens.  Any golden Legendaries, epics or rares you get are more likely to  be from the new set (if you already have a lot from earlier sets)., but even if not, they will fill gaps in the rest of your standard golden collection.

One other benefit of this is that it synergizes with older advice to craft whatever Golden Legendaries you want before opening pre-purchase packs, because if you open your golden standard packs first (even before crafting any individual golden legendary), then you may just get the golden legendary you wanted and not have to craft it.  If you do not, then right after opening Golden Standard Packs, but before opening pre-purchase set packs, go ahead and craft those legendaries that you especially want golden.  Then the last thing you do is open the pre-purchase cards. 

I am happily sitting on 37 packs of (mostly) the next sets' golden cards and holding till day one the next set is live!  If you live near the shore and hear happy whale-song, that may just be me! If any of the pod care to, sing along!

What I am hoping for in this mode is something like the appealing aspects of Dungeon Run or some of the other single player modes, without relying on random deck drafts, and with persistent rewards.  I hope the harder PvE challenges and the Heroic bounties are like puzzles rather than pure stat checks based on how much you’ve spent/grinded.  These early missions look really simplistic, but, of course, these are the tutorial missions.  If the challenges are well designed and the PvP has the strategic depth of something like Pokemon Battles, this could be really interesting.  

I think Battlegrounds is more fun than Teamfight Tactics and other auto chess games, despite having a lot less animation, so I’m not bothered by the look of it, and I have a fair amount of hope that the Hearthstone team has grafted the collection drive of Pokemon or Genshin to the gameplay of something like Slay the Spire for the bounties.

It’s really expensive, though and they haven’t given us a whole lot of information on what the higher-end gameplay looks like, so they have a lot of convincing to do if they want to sell those pre-order bundles.

This should be a bonus quest, not a replacement for the regular daily quest. As it stands, Nozdormu day will reward you with the amazing amount of 500 xp.

I have 1600 dust burning a hole in my client, and I want to craft a Legendary.

Back ground, I am not F2P and have pretty much every worth while Legendary. I mostly play Fun Wild decks.

 The Deck that I am having the most fun with right now is Odd Pirate Warrior. The two cards I am debating between are Bulwark of Azzinoth and Skycap'n Kragg

It really gets down to whether the deck should be more Aggro or Control. I do like that right now the Quest only draws Ancharrr, but it is wasted if you already have it in hand.

Does one have experience with either or these options? Thanks.

I want to draft an new deck, not sure which one. I got 2500 dust by disenchanting nerfed and some golden cards. I'm not f2p, but I don't sink a lot of money in the game. So, I'm debating between Shadow Priest and Face Hunter, I like aggro. For Shadow Priest I only need two Voidtouched Attendant and Mindrender Illucia.

For Face Hunter I would craft Barak Kodobane and two Warsong Wrangler. I would still be missing Rinling's Rifle and Trueaim Crescent. I also got the Hunter Quest, so Barak would be useful here too.

Right now I'm playing mostly Shaman, got complete Quest Shaman and Elemental Shaman Decks, but I'm getting a little bored of those. Which one would you craft? Also which deck would be more useful in the long run?

You shouldn't be pre-ordering video games anyway. It's bad for the industry.

You can make the argument that pre-ordering a hearthstone expansion is fair to you, the consumer, as you have a solid idea of the content you are paying for, and therefore the value to you.

No one has played mercenaries yet. How many of us thought Duels would be be fun and turned out to be disappointed? Mercenaries might disappoint you in the same way. Blizzard, as a dev, is motivated to care for the product prior to release if it's not ordered in it's hundreds of thousands when it's still vapour. Take the power back as a consumer, try it on release, and if you enjoy then maybe consider buying a few packs, not the other way around.

1) Impatient Doomsayer
2) Whelp Smuggler
3) Tarecgosa - the 4/4 dragon that keeps all combat buffs.  Divine shield from Selfless Hero or Nadina is a buff.  Crazy strong.
4) Dazzling Lightspawn - if you are going elementals, never get rid of even one of these.
5) Insatiable Ur'zul - the Tier 5 demon that eats Tavern minions itself.  You can get this to 100 health rather quickly with Impatient Doomsayer synergy.
6) Bigfernal - Tier 4 growing demon, synergy with Impatient Doomsayer.

For me, I can't quite see a way to make Beasts consistently work, but Illidan can do it.  Monsterous McCall and Leapfrogger plus Rivendare is so strong.  Pirates are hard to pull off, seems that the pirates really needed to win games are Tier 4 and higher -- I've seen some players use Reno Jackson on Tony Two-Tusk and create nightmarish Pirate boards.  Mechs can win, Holy Mecheral is great and Omega Buster is a broken strong Tier 6.

I don't see any Quillboar boards in the late game.

Master Nyugen is really good and really strong and quite fun, but he isn't quite the best hero.  Depending on what tribes are in the game, Jandice Barov's ability to manufacture triples multiple times or how Silas Darkmoon can both board flood and do countless discovers are better.  If murlocs are in the game, Flurgal is broken.

 I dont care what HSReplay says. There are 2 very broken heroes in game. Shudderwock with tokens is almost always autowin. Nguen is broken as hell. Noone in their right mind will pick Silas or Flurgal over it. 

Leapfrogger is just broken. Lvl 2 minion that is played over T6 Wolf is just stupid. Also the animations...

My suggestion to fix: remove shudderwock,

make Nguen random , not pick one, 

Leapfrogger cant buff minion that already has this dearhrattle.

If you're not scammed by this, good for you.  Someone else is.

This kind of heavy lootbox/gacha game is designed to be addictive gambling.  Not everyone is going to bite, but many of those who do will get seriously ripped off.  Mercenaries seems a good deal worse in that regard than regular HS, and far far more than BGs.

Did I get that right? Just play it if you want to, and if you like it, spend money on it. If not, don't play/buy anything.

When BGs came out, I tried it a bit, didn't really find it that fun, so stopped playing it. Then when they released the cosmetics recently, I didn't take to the forums to complain about […] it.

Unfortunately it’s more like “Hey look, here is a box with a cool new toy or we might have just taken a dump in it! BUT wait, there’s more! If you pay us now, you get a fancy little flag, a party hat and some glitter! Nope, not available after looking into the box.”

BGs is exactly the point: you could play it for months and then they released the cosmetics. You didn’t like BGs, so losing out on the cosmetics doesn’t bother you. It’s perfectly fine in my book. But this is like having the expansion card reveal on launch day. “Thanks for buying the bundles! No refunds!”

I would have no problem with it, if the promos were longer and less ‘exclusive this’, ‘limited time that’, FOMO, FOMO, FOMO.

They know that there are enough compulsive collectors, but they are pushing it too much for my taste.
