To clarify, Highlander decks are what you might call Reno decks where powerful card effects are dependent on an absence, rather than the presence, of cards within a decklist. E.g. Reno, the Princes etc...

We shall see. This gets better as the game goes on. Yeah theres the risk of losing it to discard mechanics but if youre in a position where you have to play discard defensively, would removing its downside matter?

It seems like people think this operates like Zavas when it clearly tracks discard without being in your hand. In that  respect you can see that theyve learned from the mistakes of Un'Goro.

It's blatantly obvious that Highlander Lock is the route Discolock is taking as thats the way to make incremental buffs. Discarding 2 & 3 drops is less painful if that means you can activate the Princes without spending all that mana. You can include 2 & 3 drops and maintain the upside of the Princes in certain situations, allowing for versatility. You have to make choices...do you want to keep your low cost cards or do you want to try and discard them in order to activate your synergies. Yes, having options is a small buff but a buff nonetheless because if you have options the RNG is less. Whereas with discolock as it stands right now, either the stars align and you dominate or they dont. Thats not engaging.

Zoo will run this. Everyone said Darkshire Councilman was bad lmao.

Edit: Like Darkshire it will be buffed after being played as well. Id put money on this being incredibly good for discolock.

In before people realise this is absurd because of Lifesteal and that this dramatically offsets the harm the discard mechanic currently inflicts on Warlocks. Consider a few things:

    1. Discard isn't going away and this buffs the mechanic substantially.

    2. Warlocks that can heal reliably are disgustingly powerful. Consider the reason Warlocks are trash tier currently - they can't gain card advantage over all the randon card generation their opponents have without killing themselves. This helps offset the clock Warlocks have to put themselves on.

    3. Prince Keleseth and Prince Taladran exist...buffing discard further.

    4. It's a huge removal target just by the threat of buffs alone. Zoo is going to run this and if highlander lock can get this behind a wall...

    5. We haven't seen everything yet.

    6. SPIIIIIDER ICHOR!

Why are you talking about this like it needs discussing. Theyre pigeonholed because of their hero power, as Dinomancy shows.

I don't normally share my decks as I usually experiment with cards that I like to play and then don't progress very far because the decks I make aren't busted aggro decks.

However, given that Rogue has always been my favourite class from the days when you'd run Shattered Sun Cleric and Dark Iron Dwarf through to trying hopelessly to get Burgle Rogue to work, I'm gutted to see that it's now finally competitive again (yeah, Miracle Rogue is boring though) because it now has one of the most obnoxious deck l ists since Undertaker Hunter. Honestly, give me Undertaker Hunter AND Secret Pally over this Quest Rogue crap.

To that end, I wanted to share a deck I've been trying with some success on the ladder. I've included a brief writeup that I'm expanding on as I experiment. The decks I'm seeing most are listed in the writeup too and I'm climbing steadily. Fellow Rogues, please don't succumb to the cancerous Quest aggro crap and try something a little more complex and fun!

Feedback welcome, give it a whirl and tell me what you think, this is by no means the 'best' list as I'm still tweaking it.

Nice to see someone trying out this archetype too.

Let's share our ideas and experiences and try to steer people away from that Quest Rogue B.S.

No, I think I read that pretty comprehensively. Your baby rage makes you sound like a child, however.

Quest Rogue decks are obnoxious aggro decks. The only counter I can find so far that isn't "just play something faster!" is to hope you can pull their 4th play of a minion with Dirty Rat. Good luck with that though.

You do realise that you just asked and answered your own question right?

"Why is everyone angry about this pants on head retarded aggro deck that wins by turn 6 with no way to counter its mechanic? All you need to beat it is a pants on head retarded deck that wins by turn 5!"

It's not like Blizzard has once again perpetuated the aggro meta when it had its greatest opportunity to give us at least some semblace of control/midrange.
