So, by your logic, we need to nerf like majority of druid class cards, including classic and basic ones, half of DKs, some OG cards like Fireball , Acolyte of Pain, or Backstab and Eviscerate .
I m sorry for my French, but are you retarded? Broken card can be used in 1 and only 1 deck and still be OP as fuck. Oakheart is only played in Taunt druid. Rogue quest for some reason only played in Quest rogue, have no idea why tbh. Raza was played only in Highlander priest. Are you catching yet?
Saronite Taskmaster. Remember how good Zombie Chow was? This is better. Not only it is amazing tempo, but it is also lowkey counters Big priest and Hadronox druid, which is sweet. Plus you can potentially build some meme decks to lock your opponent's board with 0/3s and just fatigue them. Amazing.
You see, with Branching Paths you choosing twice. 2 is more than 1, thats the trick. If you would be allowed to choose 2 forms out of 4 that would really be decent card. As it is wothout Fandral effect - this legendary is straight up trash, not worth legendary status. One saving grace this card could have - if it could be handbuffed, but since text says transform - thats not gonna happen.
I 'd actually argue that HS has LESS RNG than most of other card games, due to consistent manabase, + card by card mulligans. Plus hero powers, they are adding a lot of constintensy, to the point of being main value source of many decks (odd, even, DKs).
And although there are some cases, where random can be kinda overvelming , like paveling book, or Yogg, or hunter DKs hero power, RNG effects othen used in cases where targeted effect would be too powerful, like Sylvanas Windrunner , Dirty Rat , Piloted Shredder
Compare to MTG, seemingly non-RNG game, in which u othen forced to keep quite crappy hand, because of fear of manascrew, or manaflood since u are mulliganing away full 7 card hand AND u getting 1 less card each time u do this, which further incentivies mediocre hand keeps, unlike HS. And than u still can never draw your mana, and just fucking die without any chance.
And dont even get me started about random arrows in Artifact, these are just ridiculous. And random kreep spawns. And 1/4 chances to do something, omg.
1. can you afford to pay 8 mana and do nothing on the board?
2. you lose your win condition as well
3. what if you don't burn their win condition and you actually helped them reach their win condition faster??
4. the cost of having a dead draw on most matches..
if it costed 2 mana MAYBE it was good, if it came with a big body like a 6/6 or so it would be also much better but it does just that so it has no use other than a specific tech warlock already have the tools to win against anyway. it costs way too much and also has a downside as well.
1 yes, because i play vs control/OTK and set up for this by playing Doomsayer / Curse of Weakness / some taunts
2 my win condition is fatigue, i embrace nothingless
3 then i still burn bunch of their resourses+ progressed MY win condition, which is again, mill
4 is valid, but most matches? really? Are you already assuming 90% of ladder will be aggro?
If it d cost 2 mana whole RR meta would be Aggro-> Milllock->Odd warrior, and everyone d hate that. This is no Rebuke nor Time Out!. This is win condition in itself. Yes, milllock wont be tier 1 ever, i hope at least. But it can find its nishe and be as playable as mech'thun decks.
I think it is a great card. It's much more usable then you think. Obviously, this card is dead against aggro, BUT! It targets not only OTK decks, it hurts control greatly. Will you trade half of your deck for the burn of Jaina, Rexxar, Hadronox or Malygos? Yes. Yes, you will, since it's quite hard to outvalue/outheal them as a Warlock even with Gul'dan played. With this in your deck you can allow yourself to not care about value, just stack up removal, demon taunt package, couple of Gnomferatus, maybe Elise for pack, so you always win in fatigue. I also actually think Demonic Project will be excessive and hurts aggro matchups too much.
Tl:dr - As Control Warlock, your primary win condition against OTK/control decks was always fatgue, and this card is good for this, since it burns their value + brings fatigue closer.

So in Wild, you now have execute on the stick in Dragon Warrior. In Standart tho, i doubt it will see play, unless more dragons are revealed.
