What does a viable deck need? Well its basic, a viable Deck needs a broken card to carry it, not decent, broken. Thats why warrior decks are so good for example, because fiery win axe is broken, thats why patron is good because thaurissan is broken, mage was a long time trash tier before nax until mad scientist arived and mage was back again. Look at Mysterious stranger, its an amazing card, than enables a whole deck that otherwise would be unplayable because its broken.
Control Rogue needs a broken card, not a decent one and surely not an underpowered card like cutpurse.
Trump said it best :" every tournament deck needs something completely unfair to it".

What will happen next:
1) Wait for the next 2 expansions where Blizzard tries to "balance with cards", it will fail miserably of course.
2) Ben Brode release statement says secretdin is not powerful
3) Many months later, mysterious challenger gets nerf to "6/6 give all your secrets +1 attack"
4) Next OP deck takes over, the circle of hearthstone continues.

Well not everyone's lives revolves around playing hearthstone like yours. I think if a working adult can make enough time to hit rank 5 its pretty impressive, especially if they have kids.

Rogue sucks because its got no usable new cards for 2 expansions because Blizzard sucks at designing for it. Simple as that. While every class gets better, rogue stagnates, now its bottom tier.
And i'm not putting much faith in the next adventure either, since
1) it will only have 2 new class cards, and blizzard shows absolutely no signs of knowing what they are doing with TGT. FYI theres 4 expansions so far, with 21 new class cards. And guess what, 1/21 of them is viable (Oil). So yea, statistics indicate we are screwed.
I think it will be at least a year to see any new rogue decks. And even then it may fail.

You can still hit rank 5 now.

Uh, of course its gotta have combo, its the only logical way to play beast druid. Only ramp druid doesnt run combo because it has alternate win cons in big minions, which beast druids have no use of. How else are you going to win? Its any minion based Druid's most important win con staple, beast or not. And you should start with the staples if you want to build a decent deck. It also a bit more different than you are implying. No wild growths for more beasts is a huge difference if you are playing.
Anyway, I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel here (nor should any idiot try to with the current cards), its about making beasts work in a good druid archetype. Otherwise you just end up with completely unusable trash, because beasts are not strong enough to have their own win con as powerful as combo yet.

Lost to 4 control warriors in a row while playing oil rogue. Lowered myself to playing a filthy plebeian class for vengeance.

This guy is so cool,
1) He has his own battlecry animation.
2) He's a common big stats/mana drop
3) Has a good effect but is just outclassed at that mana cost
4) Golden animation is superb
5) Good in arena
6) I love big blue creatures like leviathans and krakens in MTG and he's a leviathan named kraken.

I used to play it using Meleemans deathwing deck. Good to see it still has uses.

Rogue players actually need to think when they play to be effective, so plebs used to other classes find it hard to enter the Rogue master race.
On top of that, most seasoned rogue players are just bored, as there's been no new playable class cards since OIl. That reduces their players even more.
