I certainly like these better than cards that add more RNG to the game (I'm not opposed to RNG. I just think there's enough already). I think these will be a fun addition to the game.
i have to have Reno Jackson somewhat playable or demon hunter will ruin the game
With respect, that’s sooooo inaccurate. There are many viable decks in Wild (says a mostly Wild player). Yes, DH is annoying, but... if you’re calling cancers cancer, Reno needs to look in the mirror.
I know a lot of people don't care about Wild, but many of us enjoy this format a lot. My issues with highlander decks is that over time, they continue to accumulate power without sufficient counter cards. That's what I love about Bad Luck Albatross. Maybe there could be more cards like this... plant 5 spores in a deck. Every time a spore is draw, remove another spore. Just thinking off the top of my head, but there's plenty of potential tech cards. a 4 cost 4/3 just doesn't seem enough these days.
I'm willing to go the full Nat Pagle :) Would rather see it with more health and start of turn effect than the way the nerfed it. Just my opinion. Happy if have you and others disagree. It's all good.
Every other classes hero power costs 2. Wouldn't it have made sense to make it cost 2. Their hero power is one of the most problematic things about the class having so much damage output at their disposal.
Just stop whining... DH is not so problematic anymore. If you losing to it and it makes you mad its your fault.
Do you play Wild? Odd DH is all kinds of problematic there. Also, why do you consider people expressing their opinions – that you seem to not share, as is your right – as whining? Can't someone have an opinion (that in this case is negative) and express it without being accused of whining?
Outcast isn't THAT bad except for Skull of Guldan. Skull is the most broken Outcast card. Altruis is the other problematic card when combined with the Outcast cards. Altruis shouldn't be able to hit face and only minions. Altruis is like a Twisting Nether that only affects the opponents board, that draws cards, and does 7-8 damage to the face. That's literally what Altruis does when it hits the board late game. Too good when combined with low costing Outcast cards that keep cycling thru your deck.
What's also frightening is thinking about what other Outcast cards DH might get in future expansions. The power creep wont stop here. They have to stick with this Outcast mechanic now and they'll never admit it was a huge mistake.
Those were actually the two cards that made me think about starting this thread in the first place. I completely agree that Altruis the Outcast should be able to go face. I mean, if the nerfed Holy Nova so it couldn't deal face damage... come on. Skull of Gul'dan should both discount AND draw so many. The ability to reload and play most, if not all, those cards late game creates such board swings it's maddening.
I hear those of you who talk about it as a class mechanic. I guess my takeaway is that Outcast is broken and needs reworking. Maybe that means making it only work on the left OR right most card in hand. Maybe it means decreasing the rewards for playing it. Right now, it just seems too easy to activate, so little/no draw back and you get (in my opinion) too much value out of it.
Just wanted to hear what other people were thinking. Thanks.
I never thought it should have been nerfed in the first place, but adding 1 mana to it has done absolutley zero to the power level of the card. Anyone with half a brain could see it's the mechanic that shuts down decks, not mana cost. Playing it 1 turn later does nothing to make spell mage / pure pala better.
Make a huge diference vs tempo decks, 4/3 for 3 manas is not great but don't is a huge tempo loss because 4 attack can trade well vs 3 ou 4 manas minions, 4/3 for 4 is a completely diferent history because the opponent can trade a 2 manas 3/2 minion for your 4 manas minion, in tempo matchs 1 mana is the diference between broken and unplayable.
The point is not deny the tech aspect of the card but make worse when play vs other decks, no problem the card be good vs some archetypes as long don't is a brainless inclusion in everything, the same principle works with Flare, was only 1 mana before and every hunter deck put x2 because have little to nothing penaulty vs non secret decks and was extremely good vs secret decks, for 2 manas make the card a lot worse vs non secret decks.
Tempo decks didn't run Albatross. Only real toxic control decks ran it.
And still, it wasn't a great card before and not now, it's just obnoxious as all hell. Mana increase did nothing to change this
I run it in my Wild decks cause the Highlanders have too much support. Need to deny them all that advantage.

I agree with many of the comments that the nerfs seem fine. Just looking for one more: could we get a Zepherus nerf up in here?

I just wish there was more anti-highlander tech cards.

I think they should move Priestess’ effect to a start of turn, rather than an end of turn one, imho. That’s not salt, just brainstorming.

Sometimes, I want to be able to hang an AFK sign around my hero portrait.

Raza the Chained should never have been unnerfed. That is all... :)

Q: What is wrong with Zepherus?
A: He was created in the first place.

I haven't tried it yet, but maybe... because it's fun?
