The vast majority of you will get mail saying:

    You are a villager.
Amongst your fellow villagers are an indeterminate, minority number of worgen.
You are at risk of being killed each night. Each time night occurs, a villager will be killed by the worgen. When that happens, they are out of the game.
It is up to the villagers to vote enmasse the next day for who they think was responsible for the killing, and who is to be lynched (also out of the game).
The worgen will of course masquerade as villagers and try to swing the vote to protect themselves.

An unknown number of you will get this instead:

    You are a worgen.
    Your fellow worgen are:
    *snip*
As a worgen in the game it is your role to plot in secret with your pack about how to slowly pick off the villagers.
Each game-night the worgen will contact me by mail with the decision of who to kill. The worgen will then hide in plain sight, pretending to be villagers and voting as normal.
The worgen win if they manage to kill every villager with at least one of them left alive.

     One person will get this:

    You are the witch.
Unlike an ordinary villager each night you can ask me to reveal to you in secret what one person's true role is.
You will start masquerading as an ordinary villager, but it will be up to you if you reveal your powers.
It becomes complicated 'going public' because, for instance, a worgen may well claim that they are a witch and you in turn may raise suspicion amongst your fellow players. In any case, you will be picked off quite quickly if you tell people what you are.

And one person will also get this:

    You are the hero.
Unlike an ordinary villager, each night you ask me to in secret to protect a fellow player.
You will start masquerading as an ordinary villager, but it will be up to you if you reveal your powers.
It becomes complicated 'going public' because, for instance, a worgen may well claim that they are a hero and you in turn may raise suspicion amongst your fellow players. In any case, you will be picked off quite quickly if you tell people what you are.
Be careful - there may be a situation where you accidentally protect a worgen.

I welcome you all to a WORGEN HUNT IN WITCHWOOD!

If you have never played before, check this link:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mafia_(party_game)

    DOES IT TAKE MUCH TIME?
Not really. You sign up and vote for someone to be lynched by popping into the thread every now and again. Voting is open practically all the time anyway.

    DAYS/NIGHTS
For those unaware of how the game works, it is split into two phases, days and nights, though to allow people time to come to conclusions online, these days and nights may last several real days.
The basic narrative is you're all villagers and then one crazy night it's discovered there are worgen in your midst.
A villager gets killed, and all the villagers, knowing worgen are among them, vote to lynch someone.

    FACTIONS
Villagers - that would be most of you.
Worgen - there are an unknown number of worgen, they will kill one villager every night.

The aim of the game for ordinary villagers is vote to lynch the worgen correctly to avoid getting killed. Often villagers who seem to know who the worgen are will be quick to be killed off.

    ROLES
    Among the villagers are;
Hero - Able to protect one person from a worgen attack every night. Can't protect themselves. Can't protect anyone more than once.
Witch - Able to scry the true nature of one person every night.

    RULES
    1. Use common sense, if the average person would think something in particular is against the rules, it is.
    2. The villagers can't communicate with each other outside the forum thread.
    3. Votes must stand out from the rest of the text and can't be changed.
    4. When votes are tied a coin flip will decide whether all live or all die, no alternatives.
    5. First to vote every day gets immunity during the following night from all actions.
    6. Dead can't talk.
    7. Have fun!

Game needs weekly changes to stay fresh.  Small weekly rebalance would help.

Terrible idea.  Makes crafting priorities a nightmare.  You’ll kill the casual crowd this way.

Or they could buff/nerf certain tribes for a week.

For example: week of the elemental - all elementals have +1 attack. Something simple and not permanent, just to shake things up for a week. Next week after that: week of the beast - all beasts have rush. While the elementals lose the + 1 attack buff. Next week of the elemental would have another sort of buff.

Last week of every season should be without any buffs though.

Why not have the cards give the upgrades until they are drawn. Then their start of game effect ends. If needed it could also have the Justicar battlecry to regain the benefit at a tempo loss.

It looks a bit too harsh, but the general concept makes sense. If it read something like "Starts in your hand. While this is in your hand, your hero power cost (1) (for Genn)/ your hero power is upgraded (for Baku)". The cards would work the same but have a 6 or a 9 drop for the effect is a reasonable cost for the power you get.

    Quote from ToshO >>

I wished they would have the effect “while this is in your hand, upgrade your hero power if your deck only has odd/even cost cards.”  Also, like quests, they would automatically start in your hand.  So not only do they take up a card slot in your hand, they are unplayable, and they hinder your mulligan.

     Love the idea.

And give us a cheap neutral tech card that puts the highest cost minion from your opponents hand on the board so people can cancel the hero powers. Would work well against other annoying cards too.

posted a message on Whizbang Strategy Reference

Research question: if you put, say, Arthas as your hero portrait and Whizbang in the deck, does opponent see Arthas or the default Pally hero?

Nope, it defaults back to Uther. A real shame it does that. Pretty sure it is the same with all alternate heroes.

posted a message on EU region pre-purchase in USD

Worked for me about 2 hours ago.

Just changed the eu.shop.battle.net part to us.shop.battle.net on their website. Mind you when I first tried to change it on the battle.net mainpage it redirected me back to eu once I clicked on the shop link.

The prices were in USD and I could choose which server I wanted the packs to be added. The default for me was EU even though I was on the us.shop.battle.net page. Perhaps because I only play EU server. Anyway it worked and saved me like 20 euros when getting both bundles.
