Destroy 60 minions with Poisonous spells:

I suggest playing Brann in Duels as it allows you to run Urchin Spines + Whirlwind. Can help make fast progress with this achievement, especially if you get the combo on a full board on both sides

Yes, it was nerfed then bugged too. Don't pick it at all until they fix it at least (and even then it seems like quite an underpowered treasure now, given that it doesn't even start in your hand)

posted a message on My Guide to Kazakusan Control Warrior - Best deck in the game?

Hi all. I wrote a small guide for the deck I had the most success with in the April season:

Export to BBCode Export to Cockatrice Export to MarkDown Export to Html Clone this deck
    Minion (14) Ability (13) Weapon (2) Playable Hero (1)
    Loading Collection

I used this deck last month to climb back from ~7k legend (I dropped a lot of ranks trying fun decks) all the way to ~2k in EU in order to maintain my 11x bonus. I had an insanely good WR over ~100 games (many on mobile so no full stats, but on PC I was 38-18) and I genuinely believe this is the best deck in the game right now, so I decided to write my own personal guide to it.

Disclaimer: In the meta that I was seeing, everyone and their mother was playing Kazakusan. Therefore this deck is full of disruption as well as card draw, at the cost of running less removal and armor gain.

Flex spots in the deck: Gorloc Ravager (I like targeted draw - Finley, Mutanus, Amalgams more than random draw (such as Forged in Flame), Vol'jin (more disruption), 2nd Amalgam (1 is enough technically to get Kazakusan active). If you face a lot of aggro you can consider 1x or 2x Frozen Buckler, 2nd Rancor or 2nd Brawl. Otherwise, possible alternatives are: 2nd Forged in Flame, Rustrot Viper and Smothering Starfish, again depending on your meta's tech requirements

Mulligan: Always keep From the Depths and if you have it then always keep Finley too. Versus board-based aggro always keep Outrider's Axe (a keep vs any deck that plays minions) Rancor vs Demon Hunter and perhaps also Shield Shatter. Versus other Kazakusan Control decks (Warrior mirror or Druids) I generally keep Mutanus.

Below a list of various big plays that it's good to be familiar with to pilot this deck successfully:

    1. The 2nd Finley: We run 2x From the Depths, but unfortunately can only have 1 Finley. However sometimes we can discover a 2nd one by playing our Amalgam on him (or on another Murloc). This allows us to quickly get access to 10 discounted cards, cheat a lot of mana and overwhelm the opponent
    2. The double discount: If we happen to have both copies of From the Depths in hand, or discover a 2nd one via School Teacher then the first time we dredge we can identify a big power play that is on the bottom of our deck and keep it there, then dredge after our 2nd discount and get to play something busted like a 4-mana Onyxia, 1-mana Rokara or 1-mana Nellie
    3. The 6 pirates: if you have enough hand space and play Brann + Nellie you can get 6 1-mana pirates to your hand. One of them will almost always be Mr. Smite, which means you can set up for a huge damage combo. You can add to this combo perhaps by using one of the Amalgams as in this case it can be a pirate that discovers another pirate.
    4.  Other Amalgam uses: Amalgams can be used to discover more dragons and get our Kazakusan online faster, a 2nd Finley as described above, but also a 2nd Mutanus if maximal disruption is what can win us the game (in the mirror for example) and finally, it can give us a 2nd Kazakusan if somehow ours gets eaten by an enemy Mutanus. Brann can be used to double on these discovers.
    5. The post-Kazakusan draw: The mirror is usually decided by who can draw through their deck faster and get first to Kazakusan, who can discover better treasures if both players are similarly fast, but also by who can draw into the Kazakusan treasures better as at the end you are often at top-deck mode. And tradeable cards are not so good as they might draw you a treasure, but they also dilute your deck and make your future top-decks worse. Here is where having saved a Forged in Flame with a weapon equiped can be huge. You drop Kazakusan, and immediately destroy your weapon and draw 3-5 treasures instantly.
    6. The greedy Rancor: This is a play versus Demon Hunter that has already played a Battleworn Vanguard. Instead of using Rancor to clear and gain a bunch of armor, you wait a turn or two. You will take some more damage, but every time they hit your face that's 4 more armor that your Rancor will eventually give you. The idea is not only to let the enemy overextend into a big clear, but also to trade current HP for future armor which can be useful as leftover armor means you can more easily play Shield Shatter in future turns
    7. The Rokara on Ivus lethal: I already won two games like this. If opponents fall for this at high legend, then for sure they will at any other rank. Few things are more satisfying that a Druid with 20-25 HP and 20 mana playing Oracle of Elune into Ivus, the Forest Lord to get a couple of 27/27s or 29/29s, allowing you to smash them in their face for lethal with Rokara's weapon (as long as your HP total is above 30)

Have fun and let me know if you have any feedback

posted a message on The most synergistic comp for PvP post-patch

I also don't have Nefarian maxed, but actually it doesn't matter too much as there are no relevant breakpoints in this matchup where I need the +1 extra attack or a bit extra HP.

I am also sick and tired of Trigore though, as even the Trigore 'counters' are just other Trigore builds...

What would you propose to be done for Trigore? I can think of various soft nerfs:

    1. Make the ability give +9 attack until end of turn only. Relevant in some matchups, but usually the main work in anyway done on turn 1.
    2. Make the ability only damage the first 2 or 3 times a neighbor is damaged. Hard to evaluate how this would affect its value, it would definitely do wonders for the ridiculous animations in Trigore mirrors
    3. Make that the ability does not trigger once Trigore's HP goes to negative. This is really frustrating as it is now, as it means that you cannot even kill him with an AOE ability without taking a ton of damage

posted a message on The most synergistic comp for PvP post-patch

A 'counter' that I've seen is Kazakus-Trigore-Valeera (usually Vol'jin, Sylvanas, Cookie is the bench) with t1 summoning a taunt golem.

As for my comp, I actually figured out that t1 I should send everything to the enemy Trigore to kill it. Then a lot depends on where the 2 6/6 golems hit (the first hits Mukla's brother) as well as where did the bananas from Mukla land. If my Trigore finishes the turn with 29 or more HP that's great because now he doesn't die to just Vol'jin. So the enemy Kazakus will probably use his first ability to finish off both reds, but you hit one of the blues with Nefarian and then for t3 you bring out Long'xin and Tyrande and usually the enemy health totals are such that her 2nd ability can chain kill both blues and deal a ton of damage to Diablo too. And Long'xin casts his 2nd ability which means next turn the opponent cannot just AOE with Cairne+Diablo. I think I am around 50-50 vs the meta tyrant comp actually

posted a message on No Reno decks around

Quest decks outside of Hunter are completely unplayable right now and Control Warrior is the current meta 'tyrant' and deck to beat, with Control Paladin being another one of the fairly good decks right now, so what exactly are you talking about?

posted a message on What Questline should I craft?

Questlines are not in a good spot right now. Some where never good (Druid, Paladin, Priest), some lost most of their enabling cards to the latest rotation (Demon Hunter with Glide, Mage with Cram Session & Incanter's Flow, Warlock with Backfire, Raise Dead and Flesh Giant, Shaman mainly with Lightning Bloom), Rogue lost all of its good card draw to the rotation and is overall not in a good spot (not a quest-specific problem) and that leaves the Warrior quest which seems to still be performing well at low ranks, but is not that good of a deck the higher you climb (plus it's also a very boring, linear, auto-pilot deck) and the Hunter one which is the only legitimately strong one at the moment

posted a message on Pirate warrior needs more support

Interesting suggestions, but not enough to make PW competitive. The deck really needs a decent hero card, like Galakrrrrond the Sea Lord: 7 mana, battlecry: Summon 2 random pirates, draw 2 pirates and give them +2/+2, put any pirates drawn directly into the battlefield and give them charge, equip an unbreakable Gorrrehowl.

Could be. I do play a bit on mobile, but mostly on PC, and I can't recall facing Nellie on mobile. But the Brann Queen Azshara combo does break the game in PC for sure

I mostly do them to satisfy my OCD. Otherwise the XP gains are quite small. I think I earn a lot more XP by playing while grinding them than by the reward they offer

posted a message on Charge problem.

According to Vocious Syndicate Meta Reaper Podcast (that came out 3 days after the report) Quest Warrior is tier 3 and falling at top 1k legend and the report's ranking is inflated by its high WR on the first 2 days of the expansion when everyone (incl. people at high legend) was fooling around with unoptimized decks while PW was figured out already at day 1. They even say so in the report:
Speaking of decks that are in freefall, let’s talk about Quest Warrior. This deck was an absolute menace on day 1 of the expansion, displaying a win rate of around 60% throughout ladder. However, a crash in its performance has begun to accelerate at higher levels to the point it might eventually sink into Tier 4 at top legend. At competitive play, Quest Warrior might be unplayable
