posted a message on Weekly Card Design Competition - Winner's Gallery

Maybe it would be a good idea to make an article/guide thing out of it on OOC. I know regular users cant do that just yet, but it is our goal for anyone to be basically able to create content on the site and have proper tools for it.

Transferring this in form of a thread, especially with the limited forum tools right now might be a bit of a waste of the work actually. I mean by all means, if you are willing to do it Demon, go ahead, just know it wont be easy.

Maybe it would be worth to wait a bit before proper tools are implemented? I mean hpwn is being archived after all (=read only), so you should have no problem goin back for the content, in theory.

posted a message on Possible Clue for next expansion in Dalaran hiest?

So maybe in chapter 5 they will actually steal Dalaran and they will fly it somewhere ... maybe to a desert, who knows. Seems like a possible scenario :) They could also crash-land in a desert by accident, being it Dr. Boom who is in charge of technical side of the heist and we all know how short of a lifespan his inventions have :D

Every time I attempt to log in over there it redirects me to a crash page. For some reason I just can't get in.

Try PMing Flux here or on Discord, im sure he will try to figure out what the problem is, this shouldnt happen, obviously ;-)

Just noticed this now but the balance on Opening Act is kinda off. Tutoring almost any card for only 1 stat point is too good. It's a near-better Novice Engineer.

I would agree, if there wasnt the problem with drawing this before drawing into what you want to draw with this and then figuring out the turn to actually play it to draw what you want to draw before you draw into it. But at the same time, could have easilly lose one stat point and be probably ok, not like him rigorously defending the statline, but i think 2/2 is fine.

posted a message on Player Buckets for Ranked Play.

I rly dont understand how are ppl so oblivious to what would happen if anything like this would be implemented.

Cut tier1-3 decks from the meta, tier4 decks will be new tier1 decks. You will still get beaten by the top decks, which are now different, but are top decks again. It is a vicious circle and there is obviously no easy solution to that.

Like if you would play a tier4 deck and was dominating your "bucket", then you eventually profress to a higer tier bucket and get mached with better decks, where you will eventually plummet and go back to beating worse decks or players with less experience. Seriously, how is that any different from now ?:)

if it's about the money - should we make a patronite/kickstarter/anything fundraising?

No. Inkeeper is a property of Curse/Fandom and they wont sell it, same as with hpwn itself. It was a business decision, for whatever reason, and it is done. Nothing will change that, just deal with it, as we had to, sorry :(

I don't understand what's the future of innkeeper. Is it dead also, or should I keep this app on my machine? And if it is dead - are there any plans to reburn in OoC context?

Inkeeper might still work, but will not get updated with new sets. So it is basically dead.

We plan having some kind of collection manager on OOC eventually, yes, be it a plugin for HS deck tracker or our own thing.

Oh hey, Feign Death made it to finals haha :D I like Opening Act the most, great flavor, useful and probably balanced. Even tho targeted draws are always a bit tricky. I also kinda like Spotlight for how you can use it, can be a free Divine Shield on a minion or can be used as a ramp. T4 Raggy here we come :))

posted a message on The Secret Achievements of HearthPwn

I actually dont know, if you will still be able to get achievements like "visit a cards page" or even sync up your collection via Inkeeper after the site gets archived. Your collected achievements will definitely stay, and you will not be able to get ones that require you to create a deck or comment on stuff, for obvious reasons, but like i said, no idea if you will be able to trigger at least those that only require to visit certain page. Id assume yes, but have no idea in reality.

Achievements that want you to make a deck with a card, you have to make hpwn deck, not ingame deck.

Achievements that work(ed) with inkeeper (to sync your collection) are marked as "IK".

posted a message on How to stop Netdecking forever. *Share*
    Quote from Pops >>

Plagiarism (by google): The practice of taking someone else's work or idea and passing them off as one's own. : )

Just cause you are playing a deck someone has made does not mean you are passing it as your own now, does it? Some ppl do it, sure, but that is a different matter entirely, that is not what netdecking means.

While i understand where all of you who hate netdecking coming from, you also have to understand that everyone can play the game the way they want. The way they want to have fun. Some ppl dont like spending hours or days figuring out a perfect deck that would work and that is ok. They r not lesser ppl.

This is like the age long squibble between a netdecker and a homebrewer. No, one is not better than the other. No, control player is not better than aggro or combo player and vice versa. Everyone can decide for themselves how they want to play, how they want to enjoy the game, that is the point.

Even if by some divine miracle there was a way to get rid of netdecking, you would still eventually see decks which would in the end resemble each other a lot. Maybe not 30:30 but perhaps 25:30. Would that be enough for you? No way you would see 100 different decks that would all feel unique to play against, so why punish ppl who dont want to bother with deck building and just want to play the game?

If you are good deck designer, good for you. Play those decks and have fun. No one is gonna take that away from you. But dont forget, other ppl are not here to make you enjoy the game, they are here to have fun, not to make you have fun. It can be a byproduct of them having fun, that is the ideal scenario, but it is definitely not the main goal. So dont put restricton on them in terms of how they should play the game. Making sure you have fun should be Blizzard's job with the proper game design and also yours alone.

posted a message on Question regarding Azalina Soulthief as Boss.

Careful about her spell that kills all he wisps and takes control of your minions for each one dying. That is a brutal swing play. Basically you have to be able to play stuff very early, so you can fight for the board. If you cant, then she is a very tough boss to beat.
