You're much more focused on the game plan with Lead Dancer into Annoy-o-Troupe than I am. And it seems you've quite some success with it. That's great. We need more paladins than handbuff and flood paladin.
First: Why do I have Ragnaros the Firelord and Kologarn in my version of Big Paladin? Well... maybe I just like their interaction. Die, Insect! while blasting my opponent's face never gets old :-D But it's also reach and (with Kangor, Dancing King) a huge heal. As you noticed, my deck is missing board clears and big minion removal. Ragnaros the Firelord, Kologarn, Yogg-Saron, Unleashed (and Crusader Aura for some extent) is all I have to remove big minions (like Fye, the Setting Sun or The Primus). I've won quite a few games by Kologarn removing a taunt minion (like the omnipresent Unkilliax). But... most of all, it's just fun to see some big minions on the board. In this month's climb, Kologarn was also a good Water Elemental eater.
I wouldn't cut Sanc'Azel. Giving your Pipsi Painthoof rush (and a huge attack buff) is worth the wait for my opponent to play a minion.
I did cut almost all battlecry minions (except for Tyr) because of Kangor, Dancing King. I wanted to cheat mana as hard as I could, so big minions it was. This led to a lot of games where my hand was literally unplayable and no Kangor, Dancing King in sight... lost by turn 5/6 usually. But if I had Kangor, Dancing King I really enjoyed snatching the victory from the jaws of defeat.
I will definitely try your version next month, to see how it handles. I keep thinking about a version with Carnivorous Cubicle ... but I guess it would be summoned by Kangor, Dancing King once and then I would curse at one of my favorite cards ever for being so mean to me ;-)
As you replied under my deck, I thought I might as well give you my response here. ;-)

Uther's Gift seems to be not necessary. As you mentioned Whack-A-Gnoll might be a good replacement although you're not running Living Horizon (yet). As for the Sunscreen: As you noticed, I'm not as strict as you regarding polluting my rez pool. So a buffed Silver Hand Recruit or (better) Living Horizon is a tool to withstand early aggro. And later in the game, it's mostly a 1 mana deal 1 damage card. If an Annoy-o-Troupe is on the field, there will be targets for your Sunscreen, don't worry ^^

I'm fine with OTK, as long as it takes more than just accumulation of the right cards in hand. Priest Quest was ok, and so was Uther of the Ebon Blade OTK (or even Wheellock). You start a countdown and your opponent has a fair chance.
I don't track my games, but I don't start to sweat if my opponent is a Deathknight. Their location becomes almost useless, if I play Kangor turn 4/5. Their removal means cheap big minions for you.
But I have to admit, since I got to legend, the win rate of this deck has plummed. But I always feel like I have a fair chance. And it's fun.
Good luck to you!
Edit: Against DK, keep Kangor (duh...) and Securitybot (especially if you don't have coin). Shuffle in Living Horizon, he's less useful, even if played turn 3.
Those decks you've mentioned are mid-range decks, not control. Sonya Rogue has no card with more than 5 mana... that's not control, that's tempo/mid-range.
I don't think my game plan can work in a Reno deck. Lead Dancer becomes almost unuseable (bc you don't want to summon your Spirit of the Badlands). And even if you've played your spirit, Kangor, Dancing King puts your Mirage in danger. You're missing out on a second Annoy-o-Troupe, Tyr's Tears and Crusader Aura, making the deck much less consistent. But I'm excited to hear from you about how it performs. Best of luck!
Just moments ago I won against a Reno Warrior by pulling Kologarn from Pipsi Painthoof (I knew this would happen because it was the only rush minion left in the deck) and then stole his cheated Zilliax. He poofed the board, Zilliax remained in my hand. The first turn after Reno was just my Zlliax (6 mana) and Crusader Aura. The second turn after reno was Tyr's Tears (Annoy-o-Troupe, Pipsi Painthoof, Living Horizon and a Silver Hand Recruit). He brawled... and therefore conceded moments later, bc my board was huge and his health was low.
I think Kologarn is important. If cheated out, he's effectively a taunt minion (although often hidden behind taunt, if pulled by Pipsi), he removes taunt minions from your opponent and he (at least) delays Zilliax shenanigans.
This deck lacks big minion removal or board clears, you're right. But you have Crusader Aura and taunt and heal.
Against very fast decks it's important to get your Kangor, Dancing King out asap. He snatched me so many wins when I was behind so huge with low health. Kangor into Annoy-o or Ragnaros the Firelord and you're back in the game.
Best of luck to you and your climb. I just got legend again with this deck. Meta might be fast, but Kangor, Dancing King supplies you with very much heal. Of course you're in trouble if you can't get him killed and he gets frozen or stuff like that. But I was successful with this deck. I see no reason why you should not.
I climbed to diamond with my Flickering Excavate deck. But then everyone started playing Dirty Rat again (like you ;-) ). So i switched back to my Big Paladin deck (currently at D3) with a fabulous win streak from D5. Lost one game against Flood Paladin (death by turn 5...) but I've won against druids and warriors left and right. Maybe you try this deck, although, if you really, really hate Unkilliax, then only having Yogg and Kologarn as defence might not be enough for you.
How do you fare against the surge of elementals? Are your board clears sufficiently enough?

You run Consecration and Prismatic Beam, I have Gnomelia, S.A.F.E. Pilot. But maybe... your plan is better.

I made it to legend, against the tsunami waves, with my big paladin. Isn't Secret Hunter supposed to be one of the most successful decks against BSM?
I don't understand why they are not reversing the buff on Tsunami though.

Congrats! I'll try this deck later, when I'm tired of my big paladin deck :-D

Made a big Paladin deck, got to legend in july with it... although... your points are valid nevertheless.

Maybe bc they know you have a cheese in hand? A. F. Kay into Ball of Spiders or R.C. Rampage... this is just evil. :-)
Reminds me of the good old Shu'ma deck.
Patchwork Pals and Jungle Gym are mainly used for taunt removal, aren't they? Seems like Shamans Meltemental and Druids Desert Nestmatron are your biggest enemies.

How do your changes to the deck work out for you?
I made an own deck, inspired by your ideas.

Will probably get nerfed soon.
Decks like these make me miss Steamcleaner.
