Anyone else feel like they're testing the waters for a rotation style constructed mode?

I'll use both for the time being, but most of the things I enjoyed on this site, like the creation competitions were mod led. If the new guys here do similar things, I'll probably continue to use both. Otherwise, I'll stick to OOC.

posted a message on Dalaran heist help

I've just beat Heroic, I'll outline both my builds (Standard and Heroic)

Standard I used Warlock with the basic Hero Power and the Seeker Deck. Picked up the double health and Togwaggles Dice passives, and filled my deck with big demons, a copy of Gul'dan DK and healing. Had Big Boomba has a board clear, along with a couple of Hellfires. He couldn't deal enough damage to outpace the healing in my deck, and eventually got worn down.

For Heroic, I completed it as warrior using the Undermine hero power and Boomin deck with Hagatha's Embrace and Double Health as passives. I got Dr.Boom Mad Genius half way through the run, and started grabbing Mechs from there. Had 3 x Omega Assembly for psuedo draw, Boomba, Brawl and Deathwing for board clears, Clockwork Goblin and Hakkar to suplement the bombs from the hero power, and Zilliax and a 6 mana, 10/10 Scraphound (Tall tales x 2) for Sustain. Again, dragged it out, took everything he could dish out, and let him die by the tainted blood and bombs.

Neither of these were the easy options, but I'm so bored of how broken the robes are that I at least enjoyed these runs, especially Khadgar taking 45 damage from his own (triple casted) Arcane Intellect..

Only one that's stood out so far was against Bonepaw, when casting the 9 mana summon 5 copies of a legendary spell, he says something along the lines of "Be careful what you cast"

posted a message on Tired of HearthStone.

Just a point on the Discover mechanic. I've only really felt it was broken when it was on an already good minion (Drakonid Operative) or pulled from a limited pool containing very good cards (Stonehill Defender in Paladin). Look at all the Discover cards that "failed". Anyone moaning about the power level of Blazing Invocation?

If Omega Assembly and Crystalsong Portal didn't have the added ability to add all three to your hand, they would have been forgotten already. I expect to see a soft nerf to Omega Assembly by adding some more bad, or niche mechs in the next expansion or two, and I feel Crystalsong, as long as Druid doesn't get some ridiculous class minions in the coming 2 years, is in a good place already.

Shaman spell pool in standard is pretty good, so getting value isn't hard. Hagatha herself is a great target for Big Bad Voodoo and Mutation. I would say the hero card is bettet for control, but its a good card all the same.

posted a message on Deathstalker Rexaar and the price that hunter will pay.

DK Rexxar was never the problem. The issue was the beasts printed in Year of the Raven, with Lifesteal and Rush becoming so easy to discover. In wild, the power level of Rexxar is a lot lower, due to all the beasts from previous sets being weaker.

When the DK's first came out, Rexxar was seen to be as weak as Garrosh and Thrall, but when Witchwood released, adding the 2 mana 1/3 beast, and the 5 mana 1/3 poisonous rush, the power level skyrocketed.

Control players are still whining even though most of the cards are control/value.

You wont use them, because Murloc Shaman will kill you turn 5

Maybe I missed something, but Murlocs got less bursty, not more. They can now sustain a lot better, which could be an issue with a reduced number of board clears, but with Gentle Megasaur and the 2/3 Give a murloc +1/+1 rotating, They've certainly not got quicker

Remember Magnetic is still a thing, and Dr Boom Hero Card. While not amazing, this is a solid get from Omega Assembly
