gang up isnt only effective in mill rogue.. ive seen it in oil rogue variants as well when they put 3 extra azure drakes or 3 extra southsea deckhands in their decks.. ..

also i was playing as paladin and a rogue gang'd up my tirion before assasinating it then drew tirion and dropped him next turn.. shits broken.. "oh and tinkersword oil my ashbringer?"

OK, so a player got lucky with Gang Up, drawing one of the cards he put into his deck. Yay.

So far, I've beaten every Rogue that I've seen running Gang Up. It's not difficult to do, you just have to adjust your playstyle - if they're Mill, then you just dump your hand a little more often than you might otherwise. If they are just using it as a tech card in a different deck, play no differently - they'll probably never see the cards they Gang Up'd, unless you're playing Heavy Control Priest or something.

Is it a fun card? Yes. A broken one? Hardly.

Alright then, here's my go at it.

I really like the lore behind this guy, and I figured this was a good way to sneak in a dragon that was a little bit OP, for fun. After all, first you have to get the deathrattle off, and then you have to wait until your next turn before you get him.

Yeah, I figured this was the best way to represent Nightbane that I could think of. The added cost of summoning him I think justifies the better-than-Geddon AoE. Of course, that's really up to you guys to decide :D It should go without saying that Nightbane is uncollectible.

Oh, and both these guys are legendaries. HearthCards doesn't seem to want to let me change the rarity of cards today for some reason :/

Is there any online TCG that puts the T in TCG?

Pokémon TCGO allows you to trade. That said, I think that trading in Hearthstone would lose them so much money that it isn't worth it for them to implement. Even with restrictions.

Pokémon TCGO can afford it because their for-purchase card packs are real-life, and cost about £3.50 (which I think is like $5?) for 10 cards IRL and online, and their quest system takes you just long enough that nobody would play if you couldn't trade - to implement trading in Hearthstone, you'd have to up the card pack price and reduce the amount of gold for Daily Quests, in order for it to not completely suck all the money from the game.

Additionally, they'd get a lot of complaints from players who have DEd cards that they would otherwise have been able to trade. And it would have to completely replace the dust mechanic, otherwise some weird trading and dust collecting stuff could happen. And even with the dust mechanic removed, we have to consider the fact that cards would be going up for sale almost instantly - people promising to trade you Dr. Boom for an Angry Chicken if you pay them IRL. It already happens in other card games, and its one of the best things about Hearthstone that it can't happen here.

TL;DR - It's not worth the time and effort to implement something that would lose Blizzard money and cause upset in the community. Better to keep Hearthstone a CCG, rather than a TCG.

posted a message on Confirm/Deny: There needs to be a better way to deck test

    Deny.

We already have great deckbuilders and deck guides for things like this, and to get all the cards is much less expensive that almost any other TCG, because you can get them all for free if you want to, so why haven't they all flopped due to a lack of deck testing facilities? We even have the ability to see all the cards currently in the game in the client itself, so you can search for a card that'll improve your deck without having to go online.

The only other card game I can think of that comes close is PTCGO, where you can also get all the cards for free, and Hearthstone is just much more streamlined - a lot of the improvements to PTCGO bring it more in line with Hearthstone, even!

The problem that everyone is ignoring is that the OP isn't complaining about how OP Mill decks are - just that they hate the concept of milling.

To that I have to say, um, tough shit? Sorry, but mill decks have been a part of every TCG I've been a part of (Pokémon, Yugioh and MTG have all had Mill decks - I just faced a Mill deck today in PTCGO). It's another style of play that people will run. If it becomes a rampant problem like Miracle did, they'll nerf it. If not, deal with it.

This game can't be balanced around 'Oh, I don't like this mechanic, can we just not have it?'. That's like me saying 'Oh, I don't like Freeze Mage, can we just remove Freeze from the game?'.

I am sorry that you feel that Milling is an unfun mechanic, but you just have to deal with it. As I said before, if it becomes OP they'll nerf it somehow, but I don't think it will, so you're gonna  have to live with it. I personally welcome a new style of Rogue play.

posted a message on This was my first time ever posting a thread and worded it poorly, sorry. Just ignore it.

I don't think they're missing the point of the game - they're just getting something different out of it. While you get the sense of accomplishment that comes with creating your own, viable deck which does fairly well in ranked play, they are having fun playing fairly quick matches that also let them climb ranks fairly quickly.

I myself occasionally play Mech Rogue, a not-quite-as-cancerous but just as fast deck when I want a few quick games before I have to be somewhere. Otherwise I tend to play Midrange Mage/Hunter and Control Priest.

Any hint for getting silver ones?

I'm not sure what's up with the Silver ones for looking through guide content. They don't seem to work for me and some other people. Will investigate further once Flux and the devs are around again. :)

You can add me as another person who doesn't seem to be able to achieve the silver ones.

For all of you, I would suggest clicking it multiple times - I had to click them a few times before the achievement registered. I assume its just a little bit finicky.

    What if it's Hearthpwn's joke, not Blizzard's?

I think that by looking at our Avatars, we can establish what Hearthpwn's April Fools is :D (Hellllllooooooo!)

This is a really interesting deck - I like the concept, and as a fan of heavy spell-based mage decks, it looks fun to play.

The only cards I'm not too sure about are the Piloted Shredders- I'd say you could probably remove them for another Mechanical Yeti, and a Water Elemental - I find the extra freeze would be useful, and the spare part from Mechanical Yeti as well.

Of course, I'm sure you have great reason to include them - they obviously do better against certain Metas than a Water Elemental would :)

I really like the card back - not my favourite, but it's a nice little thing to have. Might use it exclusively on special events (eg. My Birthday, Christmas etc.)

    Also: Happy April 1st. HEELLLLLOOOOOO!!!

Got TOO SOON! by accident while getting Grave Aggression and Perfectly Balanced.

See Spoiler Tag for a hint to TOO SOON! and Grave Aggression.

TS: Having never played WoW, I didn't get the reference.

GA: I thought I was getting TOO SOON! by doing this.

posted a message on Golden Celebration card back revealed!

I'm of the mind that, eh, it's a card back, so what if I can't have it. (It's pretty ugly anyway).

What I'm more concerned about is the unobtainable golden cards in the game - I still wouldn't really care if I never got them, it just seems like Blizzard could make a lot of money offering them for a price - perhaps with some sort of visual distinction to show that you bought it, rather than obtaining it in the original way.

    Quote from Ogobum »

It seems like with respect to the poll, the community has spoken and is in strong agreement.  I can see Hunter's Mark costing 1 but it will make little difference in how often the card is played.  If it is early in the game and the Hunter is considering its use, things are already going badly for them.

Wait... when you say in strong agreement, you mean with each other about how stupid the nerf is, right? Not with the OP about how Hunter's mark should cost 1-mana.

Anyway, your summary of why it wouldn't really matter if it cost 1-mana is nice, but I honestly can't see it being run at 1-mana, because people would become frustrated if they were 1-mana short for whatever they needed it for. It doesn't need the nerf, and Hunter doesn't need that nerf.
