Most of the freeze cards I've seen I think will see play. Probably not the weapon. I dunno about the legendary. I imagine there's probably a fair few neutral freeze cards, though.
I thought priest would get Lady Deathwhisper as a legendary... Every boss in the Icecrown Citadel raid went to each hero.... And Lich King neutral minion. At least we will get the Lich King... And probably Deathbringer Saurfang to Warrior. Marrowgar should had gone to Rogue instead of a random Lady Vixxian...
I imagine the remaining two neutral legendaries are Deathwhisper and Marrowgar.
I think we're not getting a Lich King card. I think the only Arthas we're getting is the Paladin hero.
NOT getting the Lich King IN the Lich King expansion? Cmonbruh
There's only two neutral legendaries left. And all the bosses except Saurfang, Marrowgar and Deathwhisper have been class or neutral legendaries. Between Saurfang (Warrior legendary probably), Marrowgar, Deathwhisper and the Lich King... someone is getting left out. I feel like it's most likely to be the Lich King to maintain his mystique. (I guess...?)
Not saying I agree with it, but that's what makes the most sense to me. Especially with the unlockable Arthas hero.

I just am not seeing how Voss is any better in Rogue than Gadgetzan or Yogg. Maybe you run all 3 and you're like "YOLO RNG" but that just doesn't seem like a thing that is good.
It isn't strictly better than Gadgetzan. It's more like a third Gadgetzan with a way, way better cost/stat-line. You trade in a bunch of low power/useless spell cards in your hand in the mid-late game. Or you play a deck that pads your hand full of 0 or 1 cost token spells (which I have to imagine there's going to be more of in this set) then trade all of those in for better spell cards. Yeah combo initiators for Van Cleef and Sherazin are important, but so is having a hand full of more impactful spells.
And yeah, sometimes you'll get bestial wrath, shatter or shield slam or whatever, but that's the absolute worst case scenario. And if you're pulling multiple cards from your opponent, you might eventually get some synergy. It really depends.
unless you expect to mulligan for and sit with the archbishop in your hand (which you'll lose 19 of every 20 matches doing that most likely), you'll need card draw to find him as soon as possible from T7 on. By T7, your opponents have probably already played some if not most of their draw mechanics, because that's what you try to do early rounds if you can. And that's if you are able to have found Archbishop in the first half of your deck, nevermind if he's towards the back of your deck.
The point of the deck I mentioned is basically to clear a ton + draw a lot + heal a lot. Benedicus would just be one of a couple of end-game threat cards. Your opponent's deck should still have at least 10 cards. And since it's a constructed deck unless it's some wacky combo deck, most of them should be good pulls.
Another issue, though: I think the meta will have to slow down a lot for this, I think there might be enough strong early anti-aggro cards to do that (righteous protector, spirit lash and so forth).
Looks like fun. I think what mainly holds it back for me is just the randomness. It's TOO random; if cards like this had a more strict cost range or something I think they'd be more useful. We'll also have to wait and see until the whole set is released but there's also a lack of spell generation for rogue. Rogue doesn't even have very many really strong situational spells that could potentially be useless. Most of their spells that see play are good/cheap removal.
We've only seen 30% of the rogue cards for this expansion, though, so situational spells and spell generation are obviously still a possibility.
Why is everyone thinking you will need lots of card draw in your deck to make this work? If you are going into control matchups, don't you think your opponent will also have card draw in his deck?
You don't necessarily need to, but with this card, you can pretty much just run nothing but lots and lots of cycle, healing and removal; which priest has lots of. While theoretically, you're probably stealing one of your opponent's big/end-game threats to finish the game with.
For example, I think this card fits pretty perfectly into Toast's really greedy mid-range Medivh deck. There's a lot of new removal/healing tools in this expansion that makes that deck more expedient as it is (i.e. Spirit Lash), and provides you with a plethora of end-game stuff.
The only weakness I can see, is that potentially by the time you play it your opponent's deck is full of nothing but it's scrappy leftovers. It might be too expensive and late game to get a lot of value.
Ysera still sees play in priest decks and this cards is just as slow as ysera. Acting like aggro is what will make it unplayable is silly.
Ysera has way better stats for her cost, though. And she gives you an extra super overtuned card that turn. This is SUPER random and just pads out your deck.
I don't think it's nearly as bad as some do, but it's not as good as Ysera. I think the best spot for it is in a low-cost priest deck where you just have tons of card draw and cycle through everything that's yours really fast. With Spirit Lash, Northshire is way more consistent and you don't need to even bother with Pyromancer anymore. So I think Priest has a lot more good card draw now. You can just cycle a ton.
I think the key way to design a discardlock deck is to only include cards that you don't mind discarding or that you can play if you want to (so you have good hand control and don't end up discarding N'zoth/Jaraxxus). The issue with THAT is that is it's almost impossible to design a Warlock deck that way I feel.
It's looking like most of the new Warlock cards this expansion are cheap-midrange cards. So maybe aggro-discolock or something? That was a deck at one point, wasn't it?
I think Warlock will need more card draw outside of the hero power for that, though.
If Discardlock was good, this would be a good card. I think it's a little undertuned even under ideal conditions (discard 6 cards to get a 6/6 for 5?)
But as of right now, Discardlock is pretty meh. If they add more Silverware Golem-esque cards for Warlock this expansion it might see some play, but as of right now... weak.
Basically my attempt at an aggro/burgle deck. A lot of the burgle cards are just generally good in their own right, and Obsidian Shard is a great aggro tool.
Pretty much every card in this deck is also a great Mimic Pod pull, so I included that card as well. Murloc engine works well with this type of deck, as does a Swashburglar/Patches combo.

In a minion-based priest tempo deck this could see a lot of use. Maybe even in silence priest.

Seems pretty good to me. Bet we'll probably get a new secret or another card which allows searching for secrets or something.
Though I'm intrigued.
So far:
Warlock legend - Lana'thel (last boss in the San'layn wing of Icecrown)
Hunter Legend - Putricide (last boss in the plague wing of Icecrown)
So...
Warrior legend - Deathbring Saurfang (Seems pretty safe to me)
Paladin legend - Tirion reprint, Darion Mograine or Marrowgar I think.
Shaman Legend - Could also be Marrowgar, or I don't know what.
Rogue legend - ...the zeppelin fight personified? Or maybe that Val'kyr mini-boss or something.
Druid legend - Valithria Dreamwalker? (New Dragon Druid meta?)
Mage legend - ...lady Deathwhisper or Sindragosa I'm assuming.
Priest legend - probably Deathwhisper.

Looks okay, I think it probably limits deck-building too much to see play.
But it makes me wonder what the other two princes will be.

Good pull from certain token effects. But as a card you put into your deck? Nah.
