Mark my words, print and frame them if you want, Hearthstone will come to an end soon (1-2 years). Meaning no more expansions or content.

The fact that they announced to care more about the wild format from now on could also be another hint.
If they want to prepare for the discontinuation of development in advance, it would only make sense to slowly make the wild format more attractive to players since wild will undoubtedly be the "endgame" of constructed HS in maintenance mode.
The timing of these decisions (lower prize pools, less tournaments & wild support) is just a bit odd otherwise.
And i highly doubt that they'll give us a heads-up because it would definitely cause a huge loss of profit.
They'll probably claim that they had no idea and that it came as a surprise to everyone involved etc.

I’m curious, why are they still around?

Because Blizzard doesn't care about bot activity in any of their games.
Bots inflate numbers and in games like WoW they're also generating A LOT of money.
There have been some ban waves in WoW in the past but they do this only for show.
It's not like they don't know how to catch them. They just don't feel the need to do so.
If enough people speak about this they'll ban the bots for sure but they won't do anything to prevent them from coming back.
They never implemented efficient systems that detect and prevent bot activity in any of their games.

I'd like to know why Rune of Archmage hasn't been hard-coded to be unable to get repeated by Parrot.

No downsides to it casting secrets— Oasis is probably their weakest secret in standard and that still gives them a freezing token and has you walking of seashells hoping it's not Explosive Shot, Objection and Counterspell as you waste a few cards you deem the most disposable in your hand trying to guess it.  Visage is still useful against decks that can have big minions and you can survive the hit, especially if combined with Frost Armor or worse...Solid Alibi and the unsuspecting player pushing those 1 damage hits to face..

How many freeze spells does a class need? And why do they so easily fit with other useful mana spells when cast by Rune?— Cone of Cold seems to despise me and only rarely casts on the far right or left minion, almost always goes right in the middle. Blizzard...just wow..my distaste for this card since Pilgrim.

The card was actually really bad when it was released but the current spell pool makes it a lot more powerful. Sure it can whiff sometimes but usually they get some good value out of it.

My biggest pet peeve with that card is actually the high chance of generating a ton of random spells through Tear Reality Runed Orb Vast Wisdom and/or casting multiple wildfires.  This additional value can save them in situations where they would usually lose the game because of a bad hand etc.

Hand disruption, curses, hard disruption secrets, mana cheat en masse, seemingly endless dmg from hand, tons of value out of thin air, busted legendaries from discover cards which can completely swing the game...

It's just not fun playing against these decks.
It's not even fun playing these decks, at least for me.
And i don't understand why so many players seem to prefer this over the intense back and forth gameplay that this game had at one point.

These days Hearthstone feels more and more like a card game that is designed for people who actually hate card games.

I don't think RNG ever played a bigger role in the outcome of a match than right now.
A lot of cards are so powerful nowadays that every single draw and every single discovered card matters way too much.
It either has way too much impact or no impact at all.
Same goes for the mulligan. If you don't have certain cards for certain matchups in your opening hand or don't draw them immediately after the start of the game, it will probably cost you the game.
Oh and cards like Rune of the Archmage can either whiff or completely destroy you depending on pure RNG.
My last opponent e.g. got 4x Wildfire from his skillful use of RotA and it was just a hopeless fight from there on.

I just hope that more players will realize how meaningless their decisions in this game have become and that the devs will notice this mood swing and finally do something about it.

God i wish there was some kind of penalty for people who queue games and then suddenly leave or rope during the first few turns.
Casual mode is almost unplayable nowadays because at least 7/10 players either leave mid game or rope from turn 1 onwards.
This was always a problem in HS but it got so much worse over the years.
I honestly don't know why they still allow this to happen while many other games already implemented penalties for stuff like this years ago.

Do you guys have an arch nemesis in this game?
Someone who makes you want to concede as soon as you see their name pop up because they ALWAYS end up winning the game?
Right now i face this one player who only plays token druid at least 3 times a day and they always get an insane opener and no matter how good my hand is, they always manage to kill me in 4-5 turns.
It almost feels like a bot who is programmed to have the exact same perfect mulligan and draws for every game.
I know that it's not possible to manipulate the card draw etc. but i have never played against this person without seeing them playing the perfect curve.

So Deathrattle Rogue is back huh? Great!
The interaction with colossus minions is also totally fine and not responsible for creating non games at all.
I'm having so much fun against these decks. What a fun strategy!

Yea it's the Warlock one. It's especially annoying when they resummon Dar'Khan which is basically a mini Ragnaros to the face with lifesteal.

Yup that's exactly what i meant by "pure RNG to win the game". Dar'Khan is even better than Rag imo because it always hits face, can also attack and has lifesteal. Thaddeus also allows them to have super busted turns. God i hate that card so much. But i'll have to admit that the deck can also fail horribly if they don't draw their big minions and can't cheat them out early enough. I won many games against that deck simply because they got unlucky with their draws.

Also I honestly think Mograine is a core card to a Triple Blood DK deck anyway because it's much more guaranteed than the other ones. As much as I'd like to play Rivendare, it's somehow even more slower than Mograine.

I still don't understand how Rivendare made it into that 30 card list tbh. There's way too much evolving and silencing going on right now. Even DK's can transform it if they discover Dark Transformation . And i also agree that it somehow feels even slower than Mograine. Mograine can also feel super awkward against hyper aggressive decks if you draw it early in the game but at least it's a reliable wincondition if you can combo it with Brann or discover more copies of it. I'm not a huge fan of cards with permanent effects and i also don't like how it can win control mirrors on its own but it's still better than not having any wincondition i guess.

I'm just going to say it: Resurrect mechanics are unfun to play against no matter which class plays them.

This is especially true given how this game's "graveyard" works with duplicate minions dying.

Once again, why are these High Roll decks so consistent? It's not fun to fight against these decks.

GOTTA FUCKING LOVE THIS META FULL OF NON-GAMES.

Are you talking about this new Big Undead Warlock or Shadow Priest?

The Warlock deck feels really similar to Big Priest and is equally annoying once it gets the ball rolling. It's somehow even more annoying because their resurrection mechanic is pure RNG and it just rubs more salt into the wound if they get exactly what they need to win the game.

BTW if you're still interested in Blood DK, there are two new lists (one from Glory_HS on HSReplay and one 40 card list from Nohandsgamer). I severely underestimated the value of Death Strike in Blood DK decks. The 30 card list feels even better imo. I'd just use Mograine or something else instead of Rivendare because that card is absolutely useless most of the time in my experience.

No Minion DH is still annoying af.
I had 47 health and my opponent otk'd me on turn 7.
I can deal with combo decks doing this stuff but No Minion DH isn't even a real combo deck by definition.
All they did to win that game was cheating huge amounts of mana which allowed them to generate a massive board before i had the mana to answer it. There's just way too much non game potential in HS right now. Getting unlucky should mean that you didn't draw an answer not that there was no answer to begin with.

This is the 3rd time in a row that I posted in this thread. I have to take a break from this game, I'm halfway through to getting the golden Death Knight portrait and I'm livid at the card designers for creating such a high-roll meta because it's an actual pain to have fun in a game in which you can die on Turn 2. I'm going to release all of my anger in this rant and take at least a week off from this game designed by Hearthstone "players" whom I assume don't even play their own game to test cards.

Implocks: This deck is already good enough from spawning so many imp tokens as well as buffing those imps to be massive in the early game. It can refill its board efficiently as well as having insanely good card draw to keep the pressure going. HOW IN HELL IS IT ABLE TO LAST UNTIL FATIGUE? Why did they give Warlock curses? There is barely any interaction for this mechanic besides the player having to hold as much cards as possible and getting milled in the process. Warlocks can easily spam the stupid curse cards so that the player is practically taking fatigue damage. Now, they are able to contend with Control decks even if their swarm of respawning imps don't manage to kill them.

Evolve Shaman: You can spawn an 11/11 Taunt that lets you cheat out other cards if left alive as early as Turn 2. Even if you "low-roll", you get an 8/8 minion early on the board and you can create more threats later in the game. The pool of late-game minions is small that practically any result is good enough. The supposed drawback of evolving minions is that you'll get random crap that could be worse than what you've got on board. I'm dumbfounded that you made Evolve Shaman so consistent in Standard. I'm not even talking about the new evolve card since they can just play the location as well and get a decent result. HIGH ROLLS SHOULD NOT BE CONSISTENT AND BE DONE SO EARLY. Even Big Priest had to wait for a few turns and they could whiff too on their shit.

I would talk about the other classes but a lot of the issues come from Mana Cheat and the LACK OF RISK from playing certain cards. This may sound blasphemous but very powerful cards should have a steep cost to playing them. I don't know why Rune of the Archmage was printed, it's a BS card. You should be punished for playing a card that cheats out 20 mana worth of MAGE SPELLS. There should be a risk to playing a card like that such as getting Pyroblast'd in your own face.

Random stuff can be fun and good, but when you make it consistently rewarding for players, it takes away the magic. I am not impressed by your ability to summon Thaddius, Monstrosity on Turn 2 because there was no special risk in it. You were practically guaranteed a good outcome whether RNG wanted you to have him or a Raid Boss Onyxia.

Do I blame the players? No, not necessarily since they were dealt those cards. I'm more upset at Team 5 for designing this meta. Sure, you guys initially didn't expect Evolve Shaman to be so effective. Yes, you guys probably could not have seen how Implocks would have incorporated Curses to contend with Control decks.

HOWEVER, why did you guys not adjust the Mini-Set cards? You had nearly two months to look at the meta and even play it for yourself to rethink about the upcoming cards. Why did you think that Implock would need more support by giving them Nofin's Imp-ossible to give them a sticky board? Why did you print Thaddius that heavily cheats out mana, what made you think that we wanted more mana cheating? I know you guys are capable of readjusting these cards since you guys nerfed Shockspitter almost immediately at the start of the March of the Lich King expansion. Even now you guys just banned Test Subject because players pointed out how it could be abused in Wild.

I hope balancing is faster than last time for all of our mental sakes. Have a nice month, y'all.

There's one simple question you have to ask yourself:
Why do they continue to make the same "mistakes" again and again despite the backlash from players like us who prefer a slower pace of the game and a more balanced gameplay overall?

It's not like they never listened to players feedback in the past and made drastic changes to please them.
They did. The difference is that this feedback came from a much bigger part of the playerbase.

Guess what all these players demanded. Shorter games.
They also expressed their hate for attrition type control decks in general and demanded to get rid of them.
Players were actually just fed up with Dr.Boom Mech Warrior (understandably) and overreacted but the devs simply couldn't ignore this mass of unsatisfied players (some of them even being huge content creators back then) and so they changed their game design approach according to these players preferences.
Ever wondered why the few viable pure control decks that popped up in the past few years got immediately nerfed into the ground while other much more powerful decks just got a slap on the wrist?
    This is why.

This is not some sort of conspiracy or the result of mistakes made by the devs.
They simply do whatever is necessary to please the majority of players.
If their current game design would actually hurt their business, they would've listened to our criticism and changed the game design long ago.

posted a message on Shaman needs nerfed yesterday

I've said it before in other threads, but Blizz needs to go back to basics about how cards games are meant to work. There are "rules" that need to be followed otherwise things break.

True, but they have a new target audience and this new target audience doesn't care about traditional card game design or balanced gameplay.
They demand big spectacular turns and short games.
And the only way to combine that is by allowing players to make these big turns early in the game.
It sucks but it's the only reasonable explanation why they keep doubling down on this direction of the game despite the backlash of many players imo.

Most annoying decks right now (imo):
    Evolve Shaman
    Unholy DK
    Big Undead Warlock
    Implock
Combo Rogue (albeit not quite consistent but getting otk'd on turn 6 shouldn't even be possible with highroll draws imo)

I wonder how long we'll have to deal with this bs since the last balance patch was released just a few weeks ago.
I wish they would adjust expansions before release instead of releasing every expansion in this broken state.
They probably lack the staff for that, so i don't blame the devs, but it still sucks that you just have to take a quick glance at the revealed cards and can tell which of them will cause trouble.

I still fail to see how was Rastakhan's Rumble so terrible.

I mean, yeah, I know, a bunch of expansions later nobody plays a single card from it, and it had so many plain terrible cards and whatever, but it had a pretty good meta

I also enjoyed that meta but i still understand why the majority of players expected more from that expansion. The pack opening was not that exciting and for most people that's an important part of the game. A lot of players apparently also like cards which have a huge impact on the game. I personally preferred the time when combo was in a similar spot as pure control is right now. I was really surprised when they decided to do a 180° and combo made this big comeback. And i'm even more surprised that so many players seem to hate control more than combo nowadays even though combo was by far the most hated archetype for a long time. I guess the playerbase changed over time. From what i can see, most players actually seem to prefer this fast pace of the game and the high impact of RNG. I mean, the devs probably also have data that tells them that this is the way to go. Otherwise they wouldn't double down on this design philosophy that alienates players like us.
