Do you think posting on here is going to change that? Go play a different game, get some more healthy and consistent hobbies you enjoy if you really have nothing better to do than piss and moan about this one. I am not always happy with Hearthstone, but when I get burnt out I go do other things in my spare time and forget about it. It's just a game.

Tell that to some World of Warcraft players  Image result for LUL
Man... For some people, games became basically their everyday hobby. The only one they can have. Say you have kids, hard work. For some people, it's the only thing they have and don't have to think about bullshit which their life became. And then it turns out their favorite game is basically the same boring bullshit for far more than a year.

Can relate. Hate this fucking game but it's my only thing

posted a message on Obsidian Statue nerf?

How exactly is it OP? It's a class card minion at nine mana (terrible mana spot imo) that is only powerful in one-two priest archetypes, but not powerful enough to burst you down from 20-0 health. Not powerful enough to see play in every single priest deck and pretty easy to counter. Tbh it's fine as is. Sure it's annoying but annoying  =/= op.

Again .. what I believe make it OP is spelled out in the original post. At 4 attack, its immune to priest removal. Lifesteal. Taunt. And, hard removal of a minion.

Compare to Voidlord, a card that literally has affected a large percentage of the game by making silence effects nearly "must have".

3/9 stats, but the 3 attack makes it a target for priest spells, but same overall stats. Taunt ... both minions. But Void Daddy only has one more trick up his sleeve ... summon 3 more 1/3's. Statue has 2 tricks ... Lifesteal, and the hard removal.

Yes, it is supposed to be a power card, as most 9 drops are. But, IMHO, it is overpowered, especially when compared to it's closest relative, Voidlord. And much like Voidlord, it's power is just multiplied by res effects. Dealing with 1 or 2 or either of them is not so bad .. but when they just keep coming back again and again, they become impossible to deal with.

I think what most people are complaining about with your original post is that you simply misidentify the problem, though you've now mentioned it twice - the power of the card is multiplied by effects which "cheat" it into play. It isn't obvious that either Voidlord or Obsidian Statue would see any play at all if there weren't ways of cheating them onto the board - indeed, if you take a look at the stats from HSReplays, it's perfectly true that neither card currently sees play in decks that lack such cheats. In other words, neither card is currently deemed powerful enough to be hard-casted into play - thus, if there is a problem, it's with the cheats, and not with the minions themselves, so nerfing either Voidlord or Statue isn't really justified. As a result of all this, you leave the impression that you've not really given your own suggestion a great deal of thought.

Fringe cases where you're wrong but this statement is 100 percent true.
Fringe cases are reno lock (which STILL runs some cheat in either skull or krul) and a quest priest as a 1 of, and said quest priest also runs eternal servitude

posted a message on Format changes killed your "diversity" in Standard

Despite what anyone believes, cards are hall of famed simply to keep the meta diverse and healthy. Rag for example was famed because he went, back then, into every deck that wasn't full smorc or full control

If a card sees over-representation, or causes issues for the community, it's hall of famed.
That's why the coldlight faming was earned.

posted a message on Was Ben Brode Forced Out Because of his Shudderwock Comments?

    Quote from Varron2 >>

    Short Answer: No.

Long Answer: No, because of so many things. Ben Brode was a HUGE positive influence on Hearthstone, many game companies would love to have such a charismatic and iconic public face that they do with Ben. Closest I've seen beyond Ben would be Geoff Goodman for Overwatch.

The most likely reason in my opinion for his departure is a long-standing string of misaligned goals and directions from the company and him. He has a history of perhaps going against what Hearthstone's direction was, and that's public, behind the scenes I'm sure this was much worse. His last comment about Shudderwock was probably just the latest in a long string of (in his opinion) bad design choices that are taking Hearthstone farther and farther away from where he sees and wants it going.

And after all of that frustration, there comes a point where you realize that you don't have much more to give to this project, that the way this game is going, it seems your efforts in shaping it are going nowhere and you need to have that sort of creative outlet back in your life. So you start to dream and scheme, about what it would be like to recapture those glorious days back in the infancy of a project, where ideas are teeming and nothing seems impossible, no idea too crazy to add, in fact, everyone revels in those crazy ideas because that's what creates a great game. This project, Hearthstone, though great as it is, is a behemoth set in stone. There are marketing and PR, and a solid player base, and hundreds to thousands of employees working this now, and what at the forefront was important (Making the game fun, implementing cool/unique ideas, pushing the limits of what's possible) now takes a back seat to Cost Effectiveness, Marketing, Reaching a wider audience, etc.

That's what I feel has drawn Ben more than anything away from Hearthstone, this idea that Hearthstone has moved on from a project to a game, and while it can fun to keep up and maintain a game when it gets as big as Hearthstone is now, your influence and control over it becomes almost null, and that creative outpouring you've grown accustomed to over the past years has now slowed to a trickle and replaced with more management responsibilities.

It makes too much sense to me why Ben Brode left for a new company, he wants that thrill and like he said, he's in a great position to do so. He's very likely planned this out for months or even years, and saved accordingly, and even timed his departure at perhaps one of the greatest peaks of his career, right after the launch of a Hearthstone Expansion in which his face has seen PLENTY of cameras and interviews and videos.

I don't think Ben Brode was forced out, there inevitably was some friction between Ben and the other executives I'm sure, but I don't believe in a hundred years that Blizzard would have forced Ben out at this point, especially since they seemed to be ramping up his public appearances rather than pulling them, which you would expect if they were planning on pushing him out.

     EXACTLY this.
I'd bet anything that he didn't tell blizz, hence their confusion, to avoid any kojima style incidents.
Modern game industries obsession with profit margins is very upsetting.
I'd guess he's gonna try and start his own gig so he doesn't have to worry about that, since brode has been raging against that machine since probably the first expansion

I think a much worse problem is the majority of the community thinking that people spending time thinking about their turn before playing is wrong in a game that's supposed to be about strategy.

That's not the issue, the issue is people LETTING the rope burn out after their turn.
Sitting there for the rest of the time after they've made their plays

well yeah, but I figured I'd share the flavour of it. It's quite interesting how like a beta meme made it into the final release

posted a message on 50Min Game because of Opponent Roping every turn

I faced earlier today like a game that was, at the 30 minute point, like at turn 18. We both roped every turn. I eventually conceded but not before wasting 30 minutes of the ropers time watching youtube and making my turns in the last 10 seconds

During CThun decks meta I once played tournament match which ended 3-2 in my favor and had such decks as Freeze Mage, Cthun Warrior, CThun Druid, Malygos OTK Shaman and similiar stuff involved in the process. Imagine how many hours me and my opponent spent on this xD

I played some c'thun warrior back in ungoro before it got any support whatsoever and I gotta say, it felt bad losing like a 40 minute game after your opponent finally got in enough chip damage

Honestly guys it's probably just a combo of what he said and a disagreement with how the game's being financially managed
