posted a message on So how do we make rogue playable again

I was trying to make tempo mech work with sprint and it just doesn't. I find I don't have the burst to finish most games and I eventually just run out of cards. I think I might not be aggressive enough.

I like the Jeeves idea, will give that a go. Nice thing about him is he is immune to Priest shenanigans (sure go ahead and steal him!)

I actually prefer TBK by quite a bit. It helps in more match-ups and is near godly vs handlock which seems to be one of the more prevalent decks right now.

BTW just something you can test, but I have removed Soulfire from my deck and put back in Abusive Sergeant. The way I look at it, Sergeant lets you decide what minion you want to lose to make a trade, whereas Soulfire costs you a random one (albeit from your hand). Combine this with the prevalence of anti-spell mechanics and I actually think the 100% spell-free deck is even stronger.

Dont see how Hobgoblin can be viable. It's SO slow and requires you to either hold on to your cheap drops or have Hobgoblin last a turn. So either this deck needs Wisps, (something I wasnt sure I'd ever say), or Hobgoblin needs to go.

You are missing the forest for the trees. This deck still has access to both the Flame Imp/Voidwalker start and the Undertaker start. Obviously you aren't going to mulligan for the Hobgoblin at the start.

Anyways I have been playing a deck similar to this and I think it's about as strong as old zoo decks were in the previous meta AKA pretty darn strong.

I have yet to lose to a Priest this season. It is almost never correct to go all-in on your giants vs a control deck unless you know they have used their AOE or you can block with Loatheb. Lots of newer Handlock players see 2-cost Moltens and get giddy, but you are usually better off playing one at a time.

What are you doing to not lose to control priest? When they don't hit you and instead heal you, you're 2 moltens down immediately. Vol'jin is basically removal for giants, that plus 2 SWD takes care of most of your big stuff, and your smaller stuff just gets picked off by their buffed minions. Lightbomb? Not worried about that. Extra priest removal? Nasty.

Priest as it is currently built doesn't have any burst so you will eventually get to play your Moltens. Also, I have yet to go up against one that has both Lightbomb and 2 X Death. Most also don't run silence so you play out your Drakes early and can usually use them to take care of their clerics/cultists/blademasters. There is usually a swing turn where you are able to play a Giant and Loatheb on the same turn, at which point they respond with an overcost Death or Sylvanas. If they play Sylvanas they lose (Silence + Siphon basically ends the game). Eventually they have exhausted their removal at which point you play Jarraxxus and again it's game over. I run BGH so if they mind control any of the big threats I can easily remove it and tempo up.

I don't think it's the greatest match-up ever, but I do think played properly Handlock is favored and as I mentioned I have won a number of them in a row.

I agree, have said it in other threads Priest is both the least fun class to play and the least fun to play against. If people hadn't whined so much about Miracle, rogue would be keeping Priests honest right now but with all of the Miracle nerfs there is no hard counter and they are free to roam the ladder unscathed. Good job whiners, you reap what you sow.

Having said that I still believe Handlock is slightly favored in the match-up.

So the last few days I have been testing a lot of different Handlock builds, and really it comes down to one thing: Antique Healbot is the most incredible, broken thing to happen to Handlock since Blizzard settled on Life Tap. It doesn't really matter what else you do, if you run Healbot you will destroy most decks. It dramatically improves matchups vs both aggro decks and decks that rely on Alexstrasza. Last night I played at least 20 games and lost a total of 2. Running 2 X Healbot, 2 X Siphon Soul and Mal'Ganis gives you at least 59 effective health even before you factor in a heal from Lord Jaraxxus. It's insane.

There are some other nice changes. I think 1 X Watcher and 1 X Ogre is probably correct, and if you are facing a ton of aggro (which doesn't really seem like a thing right now) you can sub out some late game for another Watcher.

But anyways in short, you are crazy if you don't play Healbot.

I love sneaking over here to spy on what you handlocks are up to. I have some comments from the other side of things:

The Antique healbot is pretty swell when you figure you will be taking a lot of heat. Problem is that it costs 5 and you basically lose a turn over it. Vs priest you don't want to be waiting until you think youre safe by dropping double giants into agrus only to be lightbombed. Preist control is definately not afraid of handlock at this point, but i guess it never was. Vs aggro healbot gives you an extra turn to slam down taunts before youre dead, but a good aggro deck has handlock beaten by turn 6 unless you've been able to fire off multiple Hellfires or get those watchers taunted early. If you catch an opponent not running double owls then win rates will probably be higher. I run demonlock as my main and the matchup has been alright vs many iterations of handlock since my deck is mid-range it stands to beat handlock more than 50% of the time. If the game gets to the point of Jaraxxus, sacrificial pact shames them. In my mind the way to fix handlock is to stop ignoring the 3 drop and put something in to mitigate early damage as opposed to relying so heavily on your late game walls. I like 1 enhanco, 1 argus for variety and utility. Throw a few Ogre Brutes in to beef your early-mid game up because all too many times have i see an ancient watcher come out only to sit there for 6 turns until it finally gets argused. Not to mention that yetis and tech just obliterate you mid-game.

Just go to liquidhearth.com and check the tournament schedule on the right side. And bookmark that page if you're even remotely interested in competitive hearthstone.

Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks

Just wondering if anybody knows when the next major pro tournament is being held. I really want to see what kind of decks they will be bringing to a Bo5 format.

I definitely agree that a plain text reading of the GvG cards suggests Priest will be broken. We will have to see if it actually works out that way. I sure hope not as I think it's the most boring class to both play and play against.

Amaz dont agree with u! and he's me hero so shhhhhhh! xD

Watching Amaz play priest in tournaments can be exciting. Alas I am not Amaz, and in ladder format it is just ZZZZZzzzzzZZZZzzzZZZ

posted a message on 68 packs only one legendary T_T

I was super bummed because my free packs probably contained the worst 15 cards in the set. Then I bought 5 more with gold and got a Blingatron and a golden Toshley (only my third golden legend ever). I am hoping to not spend any money on this set and so far so good, have another 2000 gold to spend on arena and about 2000 dust saved.

posted a message on New Card - Jeeves

I just finished an arena run in which I hugely exploited the opponent's Jeeves. I was able to use Innervate to dump my hand and take tempo, and I deliberately left him alive for the rest of the game. Ended up winning easily.

I know this is somewhat of a corner solution but I think instances like this will be rather common for people who run him. He would be great in a tournament format Shockadin but playing him on ladder is just going to be too risky.
