ssaabbuu posted a message on [23-5] Super fun Benedictus/Steal priest deckPosted in: [23-5] Super fun Benedictus/Steal priest deckThis looks quite fun. Do you think it makes sense to craft The Lich King to build it in the current meta? I mostly play control priest so might get value out of him in other decks I guess... (I will have to DE a golden Onyxia though)

bravo433 posted a message on [75% winrate] Rank 3 to legendPosted in: [75% winrate] Rank 3 to legendIt seems tough to counter this deck because you are not reliant on a specific combo. Most cards are good to play at any time so you always have pressure.

Also: You don't use shadow visions??

I think the Lich King is an awesome card (one of my favorite). However I wouldn't recommend you to craft it (not now that the next expansion is so close). If I were you I would replace it with another card and wait for the next expansion to see what the meta will look like.

Thanks for updating the deck HalldirDelinom. It was made a month and a week ago so it definitely needed to be updated to match the current meta. I like the changes you did and will give it a go to see how it performs. Keep up the climb (and thanks for the credits)!

Hey Pietripeter. I'm currently at work but will take time to write a guide once back home. I am currently ranked 980 legend (climbing only with this deck so far).
I thought of adding a shadow visions a while ago but haven't done it. I've been tweaking the deck and feel like all the current cards are important, so I couldn't pick one to remove.
Now that I am legend, I have updated the deck to 2 Psychic Scream/card] and 2 [card]Divine Hymn. I removed Shadow Madness and the Cobalt Scalebane. I might keep tweaking it based on the matchups I face.

Yeah, if you do not have Benedictus I wouldn't craft it. The deck is super fun but I believe there are better (and more useful) cards to craft.
2
Glad you like the deck Igmhorus. You can try to remove one MCT if they haven't been really useful to you so far. I added two as I wanted to keep that `steal` synergy the deck is built on. You could try adding another Tar Creeper or a Holy Nova (which I have been testing in the deck lately).
Tempo Mage is actually one of our easy matchups (I rarely lose them because of the 2 divine hymn). Ideally, you want to mulligan for:
- 1 Duskbreaker (so you can clear the board if they play Wyrm into Apprentice into Kirin Tor)
- 1 Twilight Drake (to pop Explosive Runes without losing health)
- Early game minions (Cleric, Stonehill, Tar Creeper)
- 1 Divine Hymn
The goal here is to slowly take control of the board while healing yourself. This will force your opponent to use his burn spells on your minions instead of your face. Don't hesitate to play minions like MCT, even if your opponent doesn't have more than 3 minions, as the key here is to take control of the board. Duskbreaker is just perfect in that case as you can clear all his early game minions. Divine Hymn are key cards in this matchup, so use your Shadow Visions (if you draw it early) to get a 3rd one.

Yeah, that deck is really fun to play :) It takes some time to get used to it, but once you do, it offers so much possibilities. I am currently testing replacing Shadow Vision with Holy Nova (to improve chances versus more aggressive decks). Pretty good results so far!

@Flay1: That's a pretty stupid comment...
The only card I removed that would have combo well with Lady in White is Ysera. That's it. Twilight Drakes do not combo with Lady in White as they will end up being 1/1. Lich king and Alexstrasza are both 8/8 (so no combo here too).
Instead, I added 2 Wyrmguards (3/12 or 4/12 + taunt if you hold a dragon) and one Nightscale Matriarch (4/9). These minions, as well as the 2 Primordial Drakes, combo very well with Lady in White.

@Flay1: What the fuck are you talking about? Your comment makes no sense at all and it clearly looks like you have no clue how the deck works. Drawing your high HP minions before playing Lady in White is absolutely not a problem as the deck doesn't need Lady in White to win. It's just a bonus that improves your win rate (if you manage to play her early).
Please post comments that bring value (not like the 2 you've posted so far). And don't tell people to shut up when you clearly have no idea how this game works...

I am currently testing a different version that seems to be doing well too. This version doesn't include Lich King, Ysera and Alex. Instead, I have added:
- 2 Wyrmguard
- 1 Nightscale Matriarch
- I removed 1 Mind Control Tech and added Lady in White instead
- Replaced the two Twilight Drake by Nightmare Amalgam

Just faced another one few seconds ago. Wasn't even in front of the screen to mulligan and still ended up winning easily... He did everything right: played a bunch of taunts, played Hadronox, killed it with Naturalize, used Witching Hour to summon it back, cube the Hadronox, etc... Still super easy to win when you know what cards to save and when to play them. I think the reason why you don't manage to win is because you use key cards either too early/too late and you don't mulligan properly.
Here is a screenshot I just took: https://imgur.com/a/tQFOTZt
