I'm a paladin main and my all time least favorite card is Call to Arms. It's VERY stupid design that an entire class strictly depends on one super OP card.
Lol hearthpwn.. I love how you're making a class that's receiving the worst design philosophy in the game seem like a very good and fun one.
Whilst of course the deck is very strong and call to arms is one of the most powerful cards in the game currently, I personally find it sad how badly team five has been handling paladin for the past 4 expansions.
Paladin, seems amazing in the first 2 days of the new expansion. Aggro is really strong, Murloc is really strong, and there are variants with slower decks that can work. Aggro is popular because it just destroys unrefined decks during the first days, so you can't really tell anything about the shape of the meta.
Obviously the problem is not in Paladin, the problem is with the OP. Also 2000 wins with a class tells nothing other than playing lots of games. And that's something that almost everyone can do. So, starting your post with that shows enough already.
Do you know nothing? Having 2,000 wins with a class obviously says way more than just "he played many games" ROFL. It also says that he understands the class really well, it's strengths and weaknesses and also that he loves the class allot. hmm but I guess you'd have to have supernatural deductive skills to understand that rofl.
I agree 100% OP. I main paladin at 1300 wins which were all strictly with heavy control decks alone. Paladin NEVER got a single thing that gave us an option to come up with new strategies or different deck styles. Mage has quest and spells and secrets and elementald and DK. Virtually every other class has at least 2 viable strategists to try, but paladin just has 1 and it's boring (in my eyes) AND not even tier 2.
I agree that I don't feel any of team 5's members really play paladin or are really passionate about it.
I got more than all the legendaries in this set in about 290 packs. Meaning I got all of them and then disenchanted in order to get the ones I want in golden, with less than 300 packs :p
Silver Hand Recruit Paladin is my absolute FAVORITE deck archetype so i'm loving all the new support. It's by no means a great deck but it's one of the most fun for me because it feels like I'm commanding a mini army, and I play HS for fun decks not tier 1 decks. And who knows, with the new cards it might even become something great.
Hey man, I'm really happy for you that it's a fun archetype for you!
My own problem is that the silver hand recruit archetype is REALLY boring for me, personally. I've NEVER played a net deck in my entire hearthstone playing time (ever since before Nax came out!), so I also don't play to win, so the problem for me is not only that paladin is weak, but that the archetype it's getting support for is super boring for me too...
I thinkCall to Arms is the only thing that will keep pally relevant sadly. (Unless of course the unrevealed cards have something in store.) I can see almost every deck using Call to solve its draw problems and gain tempo. Things like Dirty Rat and murlocs will be insane when drawn and played with this.
True though, I agree, call to arms is broken, it's seriously strong, it's actually insane. Not only does it get useless minions from your deck at later stages of the game, but also it puts them directly to play. This is the type of effect that made patches so strong. This card is INSANELY strong.
Paladins got good cards this expansion, a cycling divine shield to give them the card draw they desperately needed, the second-stickiest Legendary weapon out of the lot with massive snowball potential when you start creating multiples with Chain Gang and Doppelgangster, a Legendary that doubles the value of all their buff spells and doesn't get Rogue-gimped as hard by Vanish...
Yes, Priests have tools to destroy their plans. Priests have tools to counter literally everything now. That is a Priest problem, not a Paladin problem. The best we can hope for is that they don't have the right attachments to their swiss army knife tech. Druids roughly break even, their current Jade list is so good most of these cards, while strong in their own right, are simply not as broken as what they already run.
I don't think Paladin is necessarily Tier 1, per say, but it's definitely about as playable as Warlock.
True, paladin got good cards, but as good ol' Kripp says "if it's not broken, it's not viable in constructed". Paladin got useless cards this expansion in the scenario that you want to be competitive. But if you're looking to play not so good decks and not reach high ranks, I agree with you, paladin did get good cards. :p
I'm thinking of finally disenchanting my entire paladin collection. I've always made a steady effort every expansion to collect every single paladin card and create every possible archtype to bring to ranked and test out. However, the recent addition of Lynessa Sunmemer and super slow weapon hit the nail in the coffin. Other cards support recruit synergies again only "good" in wild and I say "good" since it gets weaker with the onset of newer removal cards for preist and warlock every expansion. So where does that leave us in standard? Murloc midrange trash which isn't even tier 1. I'm totally tired of abusing bonemare and other garbage just to have my opponent always add me after they lose and say, "NICE BALANCED DECK BRO". And I'm like, "sorry it's the only one".
Don't! Every time a class was underwhelming, Blizzard gave it some OP tools, I'm positive that next expansion they'll give paladin the cards it deserves.

I want a 2V2 mode, desperately
Also re-work of old card backs, because they look so lame compared to the newer ones (including the legend card back, which looks really lame)
