posted a message on I just got roped every single turn. In casual mode. Whilst playing Priest.

Every time someone tries to "rope" me, I simply return the favour and make sure they get the point by using all my mana as fast as possible for the turn then waiting for the rope.

Without fail, after doing this for a couple of turns, they quickly get the message and stop. The rest of the game goes quite fast. :-)

Err.... "slow" decks are decks that rely on high mana costed cards and minions. That's why they're called slow, because the strenght of the deck only sees effect into the lategame a few cards a turn instead of right away with many cards a turn (aggro, fast decks).
It has nothing to do with playing fast or slow.
Yeah I was being funny and apparently failing. XD

I've never said the guy was right addressing you like that, but you called people who want to play just one type of Deck "Plebs" so you can't really complain here.....

It is what it is. And I actually called people who can only play control decks "Plebs" (rather than just "one type of deck"). Perhaps that was harsh - but certainly nowhere near as unwarranted as most of the anti-aggro comments being bandied around right now, which is just plain silly.

And how does said Deck [Secret Mage]fare against other Decks?

So far, so good. I maintain a pretty high win-rate with it. it's not infallible, of course, but no deck is. I'd say it's one of the strongest decks I've used against the current meta.

Cause the only way you could possibly "mop the floor with Aggro" is by playing a Deck that is heavily teched against them

Well that's simply not true. It's not that hard to add a bunch of taunt minions or board clearances to a deck without "heavily teching" against a particular deck type.

As for the AOEs,I probably didn't make myself clear before... Yes both Flamestrike and Blizzard are game winning if you manage to have a reasonable amount of HP at that point of the game, but again unless you tech heavily against Aggro you just can't do that...

It seems we may just disagree on this point. I've not needed to"heavily tech" against aggro to find easy success against them. I just need to be smart with my deck builds and my early game mulligan and plays. Aggro really is nothing new - Hunters were doing it from Day 1. And back then (like now) the only people who really complained about it were those who didn't underswtand how to out play it. In fact, I would say Hunter was much worse due to the unstoppable Hero Power which always had stupid reach!

I think for "half-decent" he meant something that actually clears the board... I suppose he considers Kazakus 10 mana spell or Twisting Nether good AOEs....

Well, Kazakus' 5-mana board control potions are pretty insane anyway. :-) And the 2-4-1 nature of them makes them incredibly powerful. I would say they are often game-winning almost by themselves!

Well I kinda agree on this point... Yes people here tend to complain too much and I suppose someone might also lose cause their Deck is too greedy or badly teched still I think Aggro Decks right now are a bit oppressive...

Perhaps. Although I think there is something to be said with regards to them needing some low-level nerf. Though I heavily disagree with the problem being STB. For me, it's Patches. He is an instant pirate whenever yuo need him. And he has charge. So he is board presence with an uncappable amount of damage for effectively 0 mana.

Whereas STB is a simple 3/2 who cries when Ooze comes out. :-) Heh!

Well I found Secret Paladin easy to beat (just cause I played its hard counter) but still complained about it being overpowered...

Huh. Perhaps this is another "agree to disagree" area? I never thought Secret Paladin was very good myself. but I imagine a lot of that is down to personal experiences. When the 6/6 "Play muh secwets" guy appeared, people thought he was OP for a little while - but as soon as people got used to knowing what was coming on "Turn 6" (just like now), they could prepare for it and counter it. Nowadays, you don't even see that guy played much in Wild at all really. Which is a shame, since some secrets and Pally stuff are great counters to the current Aggro decks!

We've got Reno life refilling, so why not deck re-filling as well?

Psst, maybe you should look at a certain 1 mana Druid card.
Also, milling is super fun. Give it a go.
I don't mean adding new cards to your deck - I meant recycling your whole deck or getting cards back from the invisible discard pile.
i don't mind decks that are geared towards milling an oponent as a specific strategy. That's fine (and sometimes fun) and I'll "GG" a mill deck if / when it works. I was referring to when I have stalemated against my opponent and they win by sheer lack of cards on my deck's part - which would never happen if I was playing a proper long-game deck with extra cards to prevent the mill.

3.Cheap- If you want to craft an slow deck it costs around 9-10 k dust if you want to craft an aggro deck it cost max 5k dust.

It's easy to craft a slow deck for almost no dust whatsoever. Just leave out the stupidly expensive and unnecessary legendaries. One of the best Secret Mage decks I've seen can be made without a single legendary on board.

Also: there are no "slow" decks. Only slow players. Even a Priest deck can be played fast if you make quick decisions.

Dude you can play whatever you want, but I doubt calling other people "Plebs" just cause they like one kind of playstyle more than others makes you better than those that complain cause their Decks don't work....

Of course people can play whatever decks they want. That was the whole point of my post. You can't make that argument against me on the back of the comments about "aggro players". It's rather hypocrtical, I'm afraid.

It's clear that he said that just cause right now, unless you play Reno on turn 6 (Assuming you even get to turn 6) there's no way you'll ever manage to cast those spells...

Which is quite simply untrue. I have played a raft odf different mage decks - the most successful being a Secrets deck, which mops the floor with Aggro decks, and doesn't have a Reno in sight. In fact, without good board clearance at the 6/7 mana mark, it would struggle. These cards are a godsend for clearing the board against most aggro decks. Sure, 2 mana might not kill a Trogg, but Mage has plenty of 3-dmg pings for that guy making him pretty easily dealt with. And that's just one card anyway.

I don't think it matters if Volcanic Potion kills STB but then you get snowballed by Tunnel Trogg/Totem Golem/Flametongue cause they didn't die... And also Volcanic Potion is a class card...

It is - but the guy said there were no half-decent AoE board clearances. I was listing a selection for him.

And yes I suppose everyone who sees Shaman/Warrior and is playing a Control Deck hard mulligans for AOE/Early Game... I doubt you can blame them if they draw Shadowflame instead of Mistress of Mixtures/Doomsayer/Demonwrath....

Then the problem there has nothing to do with aggro decks and only to do with bad deck building management and poor luck in the mulligan draw. And a side slice of lack of meta-knowledge and preparation. But sure, it's not their fault if they do everything right and luck out. But that won't happen more than once every now and then unless you're doing something wrong.

" I asked for a Wrath of God effect, which is a DESTROY effect,"
Like Twisting Nether. Job done. Unless you were being stupid and asking for something like this at a silly mana-cost?
What do you mean by silly mana cost? Obviously no one is expecting Team 5 to release a 1 mana neutral Twisting

Well, to quote the guy : "I want my Wrath of God please (4 mana - Destroy all Creatures)." So a Twisting Nether effect for 4 mana. That's a "silly mana cost" right there.

The fact that a Deck is counterable doesn't necessarily mean it's not overpowered or that it needs skill to be piloted...

Ok, so here you have missed the point of what I said - I was explaining that if a deck was so easy to beat (as the guy was stating) then he wouldn't be complaining it was so overpowered. Nobody claims anything is overpowered if they have no trouble beating it. That's either disingenous at best, or utter BS at worst.

I've often felt that the Rogue's HP is one of the weakest since it completely desynergises the point of playing other weapons in the deck, which is a shame.
If you play a weapon, you lock your own hero power out (and vice versa)!

If you remove the charge aspect of weapons, it will make them far too slow to be of much / any use.

Before the current aggro meta, weapons were already struggling to keep up with the rest of the deck styles. It's only the recent pirate cards that have changed this (for now). When they rotate out, the weapons will settle back into their more obscure roles as they were before.

Forced to pack a deck of 30 cards only and then milled because Blizzard can't design a game properly?!
Where is the library reshuffle mechanic for crap's sake?

    "Yet another aggro player detected."
Yes, unlike plebs who don't know how to play decks other than control Mage/Druid and cry when they don't work, I do play aggro decks. And tempo decks. And control decks. And combo decks. and rush decks. And beat down decks.

Welcome to Hearthstone. There's more to this game than just control decks.

    "shit like Flamestrike & Blizzard"
If you think these cards are "shit", then it explains why you don't seem to be very good at this game and are so upset about aggro.

"Volcanic Potion, which is a 3 mana "Deal 2 AOE", yet it doesnt kill..."
a 2 dmg AoE kills a lot of things. You were complaining about aggro decks. These usually include many 1-2hp minions which need removal.

"that can't even be casted before you die"
If you are seriously allowing yourself to be killed before you can cast a 6-mana spell, you're definitely doing something wrong. o.O

"You really don't see how 6 and 7 mana AOE removals are bad and not half-decent?"
Well which is it? Bad or half-decent? You can't even decide for yourself apparently. Either way, you're still wrong. You claim to like playing control decks and somehow think the two biggest mage control cards are bad. /SMH
    Bad player is Bad.

" I asked for a Wrath of God effect, which is a DESTROY effect,"
Like Twisting Nether. Job done. Unless you were being stupid and asking for something like this at a silly mana-cost?

" I know EXACTY what to do to beat such a deck."
And yet here you are whining about the deck being too powerful / easy? Bad player is still bad. :-)

"Oh and good job assuming I was coming from the Handlock camp"
    I know. XD
Mad Handlock player is Mad! :-D

"I beg of you, defend it even more"
Consider it well defended. Perhaps you should look up some strategies on how to beat this deck if it's causing you so much trouble - face it, if you were beating it so much, you wouldn't be on this forum crying about it. :-)

posted a message on Why do people play aggro / face decks?

Someone's cancer Handlock deck doesn't work anymore! XD

    "1 mana 3/2 yet you don't print a 1 mana 10 HP heal"

Priests have a 1m 5hp heal which counters this easily.
Druids have a 1m 2dmg ping which counters this easily.
Mages have a 1m 3dmg multi-ping which counters this easily.
Shamans have a 1m 3dmg ping AND a 1m silencing ping which counters this easily

Yeah, nothing can be done about that dreaded 1m 3/2 card with a huge down-side. Nope. Nothing to see here...

"All you aggro players really think you're something"
Someone tried aggro and couldn't work out how to win with it. Damn that 3-figure IQ requirement... :-D

"ANY type of Control deck takes roughly 5x more thinking, planning and calculating..."
If you need that much thinking and planning to play Stall > Stall > Wipe > Stall > Play fatties and Win... then you're probably doing it wrong.

"cheap re-assurance that they are "good" players"
If you can't work out how to beat such a simple deck, then the problem doesn't lie with them. I suggest trying Dragon Priest, Undying Shaman, or a raft of other huge anti-aggro meta decks which are great against these.

" half-decent board clears not even existing"
Yeah, sorry FlamestrikeDark Iron SkulkerDemonwrathVolcanic PotionKazakusCorrupted Seer,Lightning Storm, Blizzard. You guys don't exist! :-(
